RETURNAL | R_A.0766 Overgrown Ruins [Melee + Modified Sidearm SD-M8] (HDR) NO DAMAGE

Housemarque's RETURNAL celebrates its third birthday on 2024 April 30. Between now and then, new content will be posted to the Archive to mark this milestone. This content consists of clips recorded in previous years that had been overlooked, as well as gameplay footage recorded recently when, missing my adventures on Atropos, I picked up a PlayStation 5 controller once again and set out as Selene in search of some sort of salvation. Thereafter, on April 30 itself and weekly through June 4, all-new, full-biome runs will be shared to celebrate this gem of a game.
This footage marks my first time playing RETURNAL in approximately six months. I anticipated quick action and ultra-violence but was met, instead, with stillness and silence: the tile was empty of enemies! I had just enough time to think "Where is everybody?" when all Hell broke loose. This recording, short though it may be, captures that experience: the stillness, the surprise, and my surprisingly adroit reaction to my newfound circumstances. Highlights include precise, close-quarters use of the Proximity Mine alt-fire, careful but frequent use of the Atropian Blade, and some shocking situational awareness.
