I'm a Finn and i'm sure it was yummy, but Finnish pancake is never so thick. Cut your recipe to half for that size of the pan and you get the real one ;) In Finland we usually eat that with strawberry jam and some peoples add whipped cream also ...I suggest you try that too. Best way to do it is cast iron pan, but if you make for many peoples, it's pretty slow, because every pancake takes like 15-20 minutes. If you do with cast iron pan, remember to preheat pan in oven and melt butter on it. Hope you will enjoy our most traditional dessert :)

I have such a hard time finding lingonberry jam around where I live! Are there any store chains that sell it online perhaps?

Yes, it is one big pancake, and not like the pancakes I grew up eating as a child in Denmark. But it is fast to make it and very tasty. Let me know what you think after you have eaten it.

This was so delicious thank you. We went a little heavy on the toppings to get rid of some ripe fruit we had but it was so good! I still have half the batter saved in fridge to make tomorrow since i made a small batch in my toaster oven.

I use two eggs, one cup milk or water, 2/3 cup flour, two Tbsp sugar, 1/2 tsp cardamom, and three tablespoons butter/coconut oil in a pie pan at 400*F for 35 minutes. I guess mine just makes half as much. But, add cardamom to make it extra-Finnish.

Thank you for all this information. I appreciate it. Yes, I also like cardamom very much and will add it next time.

My recipe also includes 1/2 tsp fresh grated lemon peel, which is really nice, but I usually omit it and add it when I'm feeling frisky. Lemon peel is great for burning fat, I find.

Thank you so much for the video, my mother passed away and was a full finn but i never learned how to make her PANNUKKAU, but she made it on the stove, not sure how i cnt find any videos of someone making one on the stove like she did she used a cast iron skillet though so maybe that's why.

Wow, if you don't mind, from which island? Recently, I am very interested in visiting those small Danish islands and it's a very nice surprise to read from somebody who lives in these unpopular places. I think, they are gems..good, that not ruined with massive tourism.

I grew up in the town Stege on the island Møn (south of Sealand). There are beautiful cliffs on the island.
