Reed College is an institution of higher education in the liberal arts devoted to the intrinsic value of intellectual pursuit and governed by the highest standards of scholarly practice, critical thought, and creativity. There is a lottery and many students lose it. Most of us end up in tiny rooms with no screens on the windows, tons of bugs, and destroyed common rooms. The newly built dorms are AMAZING - air conditioning, LEED certified, etc. but the others... not so much. And they charge the same price for them all because of the lottery (unless you’re in an apartment). The housing lottery really determines your experience at Reed in my opinion.
