I give a little update on how I'm doing two weeks post op for ACDF surgery. There are also some exciting announcements on what to look forward to! www.hopesports.org/podcast/ laurawilkinson.com/
Im on day 2 and as a very active guy I’m feeling lower than a snakes belly not being able to do anything. Thank you for being Ms Positive and kicking me up the butt i need.
Laura, I am so thankful to have found your channel. I am facing repair of C4-C7 due to sever degenerative disc disease from Osteoporosis. I am a retired Laboratory Med Tech, and have read probably too much information. I had become nervous, sometimes weary wondering how recovery would be. Your positivity has encouraged me so very much, and I am so thankful. I can look to the near future with positivity and hope. Thank you for sharing your progress, you are a blessing to me. Be blessed and stay well. I look forward to your future updates.
I’m 3 days post-op and I’m not in a ton of pain, but what I didn’t expect to feel is very very sad 😭...I have some pain in my shoulder blades/back of my neck, and I keep getting a pressure like feeling in my shoulder blades that goes away if I burp so I guess gas? Today is the first day it didn’t hurt to swallow. Yesterday every time I swallowed pain would shoot down the sides of my neck into my shoulders 😫. It’s still difficult to swallow, I don’t have much of an appetite. I’m not sure why I feel so sad, maybe because I’m worried I won’t be able to do everything I used to. My doctor said to wear my brace for comfort only, I’ve been wearing it nonstop because I don’t want to hurt myself. I’m a mess...hopefully everything will get better. I didn’t have neck pain before surgery, my spinal cord was severely compressed. I wish I could be as positive as you.
Hello Laura W. I am very happy to have found you on youtube- I will be scheduling my surgery ACDF soon April/May after 13 years of suffering from a car accident. I been driving 35 years with a clear record - no accident or tickets but this elderly lady driving her car was confused and hit my car once on side then back . I had laser surgery 2015 in Florida - but it did not help. Living in Uk for now with my English husband but missing my home town California. You are fantastic, inspiring energetic and I wish you the best of luck on your Hopesports. I will check it out - promise I will be using my "gift of free time" during my recovery. My father was a diver- What courage! Incredible sport. God Bless you and your family.
So glad I found you! You give me hope. I'm looking at a second surgery on the neck. First one ( artificial disk) didn't create enough room. So, 4 years later ...here we go with a 2 level acdf. Quick question: What kind pillow do you use? I have the hardest time getting comfortable. Every night it's switching between 3 pillows. Thanks! 🙏❤️
Thank you for posting your videos. Its been 5 days since I got my ACDF in my neck; I am just hoping the days go by quickly because I want to feel better.
I'm phoning tomorrow to schedule my surgery. My neurologist surgeon didn't mention wearing a collar. Can't wait to get rid of all these nerve pains, twitching and burning etc. I'm in the UK.
Angie Beaumont I'm having 4 level fusion with corpectomy and 360 degree cervical surgery. It's very hard getting information and support 🙁 Good luck with everything!!
I’m having this surgery in 3 weeks, and my doctor gives me the option of wearing a brace?? It doesn’t seem safe to recover without one. What’s your opinion?
