You're such an eloquent speaker and great story teller!! Loved hearing all the details of the grind! Congratulations and can't wait for the next Gritty adventure :)
Respect! I did Muskoka 70.3 back in 2014. Muskoka has been called the hardest 70.3 in North America. At the pre-race meeting they told us, "There is nothing flat in Muskoka. We would make you swim uphill if we could." Ultra-running is my best discipline, but in Muskoka, I went out WAY too fast. Finished in 7 hours, not too bad for an (at the time) 41 year old with an admin job. Not sure I would do it again in my 50s, but I do still do ultra-marathons. Way to go!
Morning Gritty, had MEPS yesterday, pray my waiver clears. Going 68w in January. Going to use your knowledge to get big and fast before basic 😎. God bless you brother
Congrats gritty! I would suggest doing the bay bridge swim up on the Chesapeake to get that open water experience up. Not surprised you swam fast given the added buoyancy of your suit plus the salt water.
Awesome job man! If IM Texas doesn’t pan out, I recommend IM Wisconsin next September. Great race venue. Bike course is challenging with all the hills but the run and swim courses are fast!
You are on my radar young man. Support group would be nice, definitely when you do the full. The running/rucking you do is a real help with the biking. Minimum 20 oz of liquids per hour of endurance. You have transition areas so my guess would be 100 oz for the event. Nutrition on your training blocks or long rides to gather info for what works the best. Myself, would have a few small red potatoes with gear at bike transition area to eat, with salt & pepper. Try some dill pickle juice at both bike and run transitions. 4 to 8 oz. From what I gather on this video, you were somewhat relaxed so with that, keep relaxed. I think you have the mental state down well enough to know or at least not be frustrated if something were to go off kilter. The bike tire thing is something you stated that sounds like it needs attention. Practice repairing. I can only assume you might be running tubeless tires. Many ways in which to practice routines. Maybe do somewhat dry runs from start to finish with gear, how and what is laid out, including everything you will need at each point. Practice until it becomes like muscle memory. Everything in stride and remember life always throws you curves so....." It's always something ".
Hey just wondered if you were going to give your thoughts on people in their late 30's joining the military. I read in the comment section of the possible pay increase video that you would consider doing so. Cheers.
Hi, thank you for sharing question. If it’s a 2 hour drive to my first ever half Iron Man, should I check out of my hotel the day of the race or stay over one extra night ?
Officer, Ranger, Ironman. Gritty is STACKIN’. 💪💪
😆 stackin!!! 💪
Awesome accomplishment.

Thow that medal on and go back to the first bike shop you visited when looking for your tri bike.
That… is a fantastic idea!!!
Congrats Gritty
🙏
That's a solid swim time, especially for your first time in open water. Nice job.
🏊♂️ 💨
Congratulations on a great achievement. If you're doing the iron man in Houston, give me a shout if you need assistance when doing the race.
Appreciate that! I'll keep you in mind if I need help.
Thank you for the video.
I'm a new subscriber. I hope that you do it in Kona.
Keep up the good work.
Glad to have you, and thank you! Everyone keeps saying that, I may just have to look into that one 🤘

Hell yeah dude🤘🏾

Thank you! 🙏
Great job!!!! 🎉
Thanks!
Damn bro, this motivated me finally hit 600 on my ACFT.
!!!!!!! Congrats!! 💪
@@GrittySoldier Thanks, I went from failing my ACFT in August by 1 second on the run to 600. Your tips on increasing run time was such a godsend.

This guy is the epitome of hooaaaah!
Hell yeah, all the kool aid!
Are distances standardized? What were your events’ distances, and what about a full triathlon?
Yeah they are.
Swim: 1.2 miles
Bike: 56 miles
Run 13.1 miles
The full is twice as much 👌
@@GrittySoldier THAT is one LONG bike ride! My max is about a 1-hour commute to work. :)
Hi, thank you for sharing question. If it’s a 2 hour drive to my first ever half Iron Man, should I check out of my hotel the day of the race or stay over one extra night ?
I stayed an extra night, I didn’t want to drive home the next day 😆
Nice.
Next stop Kona?
Maybe one day who knows!
don't stop cycling during winter, just do the bike
Will do 🫡
🤙🏻🇺🇸
What was your diet like? 😊
First 🎉🎉🎉
High speed!! 🫡
That definitively answers my burning question if your workout training programs applies to triathlons! 🎉 🏅 🏊♂️ 🚵♂️ 🏃♂️ 💪 🏋♂️🎯🏔🧭🏁!
