Along with Kubun I bought the Black Talon 20 years ago. Well as I've aged, I now find the Black Talon useful to grasp objects that are now out of reach. I still enjoy both knives !
I have one. I'm disabled and it's for self defense mainly and it is easy to hurt even yourself. It was the knife that was affordable but still nice and built well. It is a take from the Spider Co Civilian which has a thinner tip. They made a knife that even someone untrained could use for defense. Well Cold Steele beefed it up. I love the way it deploys out of my pocket. Honestly it's my favorite knife. I pinch the handle and the blade at the same time and pull it out of my pocket so it doesn't deploy, but you still should be mindful of this thing. It is formidable. Cold steel wrapped meat in a coat and a hoodie and a shirt or something similar and started from the top of the "torso" and pulled down. You can strike a couple different ways, one just uses the tip and cuts a couple inches. The other you strike with the base of the blade where the hump is and pull it and the tip for a deeper cut. Cut rope hanging down, I don't know if they put weight on it or not. Cut plastic jugs filled with water by striking them like in battle, the same with the rope. Also cut ropes how you normally would. Strike paper and card board, which would dull it quickly. Strike big cuts of meat hanging down. I'd do the meat first for sharpness. It is not meant to chop at hard things. It could probably tear up a soda can lol. I don't know if that helps. I love the fixed bade. I don't open it with my thumb. You would not have to touch that bade very hard to cut yourself bad. I shaved skin off by accident so now I deploy it from my pocket which I very carefully practiced for a few days and I also flic my wrist letting the momentum open it. Holding it upside down pinching the handle while you kind of trust the closed knife downward and inch or two pointing at the floor and stopping abruptly (pinch firmly). Thanks for the video. I would be curious what it would do to some thick leather. One last thing, the triad lock it has can hold 200lbs of weight literally hanging off the blade.
I've always wanted to get my hands on one of those or the Spyderco or matriarch I think they are called wicked-looking blades great review I enjoy seeing something different
Thick dock line/rope, a polyester type. And, maybe a cotton variant. I get to deal with this kinda stuff regularly at work, and it’s a huge pain in the butt. By thick I mean over 3 inch diameter.
I carry one. One or two slashes against an attacker and the fight should be over. I had the civilian but sent it back. This one is stronger and a lot more budget friendly.
Definitely some water bottles some fruit and vegetables and old shirt stuffed with something maybe chop through a small board. Hopefully someone else will come up with a really creative idea
I'm not sure I'd consider this goofy. It's just very niche. It's super functional for a small minority of EDC cases. But it's sad the mall ninjas have latched onto these.
Forgot to mention this also comes in NON-Serrated blade.

Awesome. Thanks for all the details. Appreciate you’re comments.
my friend has carried one every day for the last three years as his self defense knife
Sweet.
I can't imagine what kind of damage that could do in a "situation"...
A LOT
@@DirkWerningthat's what I was going to say lol
Thanks for letting me know about that sharpener by the way. That makes me love the knife even more lol.
Glad to help.

Thanks.
Can you cut meat wrapped with leather or denim? 😊
Oh you're gonna have to cook a good brisket and slice it up with this😁👌
Well I don’t really cook but I see where you’re going.
That is pretty wild. Great video

Gotcha I’ll do some shopping.
Did you ever test it?
No not yet.

It's a cold steel knife!! You can't do any testing without a pig carcass😂😂😂😂
Lolol
How about a thick meat test? Subbed
Thank you.

You’re correct it has its place for sure.
Looks like the ultimate carpet cutter.
Get a dog bone and see what it can do my free cents
Cool
