Totally agree on the Seki city vs USA backlocks. The Seki city models, in general, put you in a position of either tightening the pivot down to the point where you don’t get that nice backlock action (free dropping to your index finger on disengagement) or loosening it to the point where you have good action but now have blade play. My experience with the USA backlocks (native 5 and native 5 LW are the ones I have) is incredible. When I first tried them I thought the pivot must’ve be loose given how freely they drop when you disengage the backlock but nope, tight and rock solid! Although I have managed to get one of my delica’s to the point where it has no play and drops with just a tiny bit of encouragement, but I had to polish the washers and also increased the spring tension in the lock back by just bending that spring just a little more and that extra spring force jamming that lockbar into the blade tang got it locking up more solidly The Delica and then the Native especially really sold me on backlocks. I kinda felt like they were an inferior type of lock until I tried these - and now I love them!
I have Tenacious Spyderco with liner lock 8cr13moV for 5years and blade is centered and zero play 👍. Still a good deal Now I get myself Native Chef plain blade BD1N for Christmas and so far so good. It’s a needle. So shabby. I’m going to test it on some car tires .
I hated back locks my entire life until I picked up a Native 5 LW. Seki back locks aren't nearly as smooth or solid feeling as the Golden back locks. Liked it so much I ordered the fluted CF Native 5 which is such a solid lock and just yesterday ordered my first Native Cheif, the plain edge Magnacut. Hoping it's just as solid.
@nickm212650 Haven't tried to do so. Although I've heard numerous reports from people, including some I know, who say it's actually not that difficult to sharpen at all.
why would you want a fully serrated blade made out of magnacut? ppl are so dumb its ridiculous. you could sell a guy a disposable razer plated in gold if you had enough youtubers calling it cool
@DeathmetalPersian Keep your opinions to yourself. Go harass someone else since you have nothing to do other than complain about things you don't understand.
@dk210913 harass? an opinion you dont like isnt harassment. You sound like a commie. The concept of a fully serrated blade is stupid on its own for anything outside of cutting seatbelts and bands or sawing through thin wood. All of which are rough applications that dull an edge quickly, so why you would want a "tool" serration blade made out of something hard to sharpen is moronic. You youtubers are just buying magna cut like a woman wears jewelry. Serves no actual functional benefit on a tool outside of bragging about how much you paid for it.
@dk210913 in fact if you go over to spydercos own warranty page you will see they refer to their blades as "tools meant to be used until discarded" and they dont replace blades under wear and tear. they are designed to be retired and replaced.
I also don't get why knife makers ruin perfectly good tool with this serrated BS. If you want to put serrations in the blade at least leave portion of the blade from root to be straight edge. So far only German/Finnish knife makers have figured this out and the blades are far and few between.

@andyhayward1261 Well detailed, sir. Yes, I agree! The American made lockbacks are made much better.
Shoutout to all the custom scale makers. We need scales for these lightweight models of the chief.
Have Native Chiefs in s30v,xhp s90v and MagnaCut. Awesome model. 👍🏻
This knife is going to shred any organic matter that gets in its way.
I like the serrated blade on your native chief. I recently bought a different brand knife with a full serrated blade and its working great for me.

@@cvdubya5774 Agreed! I believe you'll enjoy this one!
I've got this exact one on pre-order. Been waiting months. I think point of lock back for this model is ease with gloves maybe, idk.

Grabbed 2 of these. Love the Chief. And Native 5 models. Have a couple Native 5 lw serrated edge and they are fantastic. Enjoy 🎉
Greetings friend! Does this leg work with washers or the same as the Native 5 without washers? Thanks bro.
@@НіжнийВуж Thats a good question. Haven’t taken it apart yet,but I’ll try and keep this open so when I rit dye it I’ll get back too ya 👍🏻

I guess I'll just be using this for kitchen prep
Actually looked on their website and they made 99 different steels
I believe there are more than 27 steels. I have 27 different Spyderco steels and I know there are a bunch other steels.👍🏻
Brand new and incredibly easy to open/close, howd you do it?

@НіжнийВуж From what I can see after examining it with a flashlight, I believe it runs without washers.
@@dk210913 Thanks
Can you do a comparison with this and the Spyderco siren?
@@tlcpg8894 I don't have a Siren, but I'd be happy to reference it and the differences since I've had one in the past! 👍
Is magnacut difficult to sharpen?

@@ex1tium It makes even less sense to make a blade you need to sharpen often out of magnacut
