- On this episode of police cars we hop in with Lt. Camacho of the Florida Highway Patrol to tour his dodge challenger RT police car. we take a look at the police equipment that the vehicle uses such as the push bumper for the pit maneuver, speed measurement device, and a look at the police light package.

Nick I watched your original channel when I was a kid, I’m about to move to Florida to pursue a career in law enforcement, pray for me brother. I’ve wanted this for years and I had issues where I was at, I’m hoping the state of Florida will accept me and I can be a great cop like yourself.

Intro should 100% just be the official FHP intro for this channel. It’s so damn good.
Sad that LT didn't mention the coolest feature of the rear lighting on FHP cruisers: Hitting the brakes changes many or all of the rear lights into brake lights. You can see it @19:49 in the video that the brake has been pressed. I just find that to be one of the coolest things to come out in emergency lighting in a while.

When they flip it in reverse, the lights will turn white.

Nick, it is not an SRT. It is just a base R/T 5.7. same as the chargers.
yup R/T just like my dodge durango R/T its a nice trim package love my 5.7 hemi !
Also these aren’t pursuit rated nor do they come with a larger battery or alternator like the Charger Pursuit or Durango Pursuit.

I liked the goods under the hood. I think it would be interesting to talk about how each agency maintains their vehicle and how often do they keep a vehicle for before they replace it.
As a Florida native, love the FHP and happy they get sweet and capable cars.
Love my state of Florida and from Mustangs to Mopars you can’t go wrong. The Florida Highway Patrol is no joke thank you for your service. 🇺🇸
Beautiful unit! And the LT was so damn cool and down to earth. You can tell he's not just in law enforcement to exorcise some prior demons of his, actually CARES about the community and keeping people safe. Need many more like him!!!

As a Cali native thanks for sharing this video, brings me back to 2017 when i used to be a chp motor officer in the san diego area now retired. I left that once beautiful state after 28 years on patrol and now currently reside in Fort Myers FL. A nephew of mine works for the fhp in Fort Myers and he absolutely loves it.
Such a beautiful car! I love the color scheme. I don't want that behind my rearview mirror unless if it's passing by me and going after someone else. 😄So cool seeing law enforcement using the challenger, especially in high-speed chases.

Georgia has them beat in both fleet and ability to pursue and crash the bad guys. Arkansas and Texas might have the trademarks on crashing bad guys section. That's what matters most.

I'm a retired Iowa police officer, Asst. Chief. I got an unmarked black 5.7 charger as a chase vehicle, I was so impressed I bought a SRT a week later (Still have it Bee #798). Best cop cars EVER, Be safe Lt & thank you.

I wonder what Broderick Crawford (from tv series highway patrol 1950s) would have thought of that trooper challenger. Badass car.
First he would have thought "Damn I can't even fit in that thing".
The emergency light placement on that FHP Challenger is very responsible. It's not blinding, distracting and confusing to other drivers on the road like many (most) local agency vehicles.
Pass fog lights not working..... They keep trying to keep the camera off and away from it.

Awesome machine, I've always thought the FHP/Florida Highway Police have the coolest/best looking paint schemes in the whole country, much better looking then my state of Louisiana state police kind of basic all white. Their cars just look mean, those colors really blend in beautifull, plus the different color schemes really stick out nicely. Gorgeous Challenger. Very cool video! 👍

Could you possibly more do more ride along video with Police Agencies I like seeing them in action when doing Traffic Stops very interesting. Also love seeing the different Police cars and flashing emergency lights just awesome.

I have to say living in South FL the new light package on FHP's cars are super bright!!! There aint no way you're going to say I didn't know or see the lights. Bright ASF!!! Nice color palette love how they looks one of the better looking state cars IMO.

Kind of reminds me of when the FHP started using the 5th generation Camaros in their fleet. I was on vacation down in Daytona Beach in 2011 and got to see the new Camaro pursuit of that year, fully dressed. B-E-A-U-Tiful looking ride.
After finding out that the FHP won for best looking cruisers in the US, it's no wonder why. Every state should look into updating their style based on the FHP, especially Indiana (my home state lol).

You should down to Texas. The Texas DPS (Dept. Of Public Safety/Highway Patrol) has a 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye in their fleet. It’s pretty cool how they confiscated it then turned it into a Pursuit Vehicle. That would be neat to go check out.

There are a bunch of cars that can outrun a Challenger RT but you can't outrun a radio.
I have a 2018 Charger pursuit 5.7 rwd that was a FHP marked unit. I love it. I love how it drives and handles. And most of all I’m almost 50 years old and over 6’ tall and I’m in love with exactly how much room the drivers seat has. This is the best daily driver that I’ve ever owned. Now I officially own my 3 favorite cars (or at least the only 3 I can afford lol).

But I love the FHP charger. Best daily driver I ever owned.

Depending on when the Lieutenant started with FHP. Ask him to draw an accident diagram free hand. Back in the day the Troopers always had the best free hand diagrams. As a former city officer . I had an excellent experience riding with several troopers that I knew . From troop D.
Born in Florida and I remember when the 5.0 notchbacks were introduced to the fleet for FHP,,,Same black and Tan but the kick in the balls was they had unmarked Mustangs ! A myself having a 455 SD Trans Am would race anything,,, except plain jane notchbacks,,,lol loved the 5.0 FHP SSP cars

FLHP Troop C I think had these 392 Challengers first.. I started seeing them Tallahassee on east as a trucker.. Ocassionally see them in Pensacola, FL where I live. Being a trucker and a 2019 Mustang GT owner.. History of Highway patrol like California and Florida owning 5.0 Mustangs is love at first site!.. Seen a foxbody 5.0 MustangAlabama State Trooper chasing a Porsche near Birmingham, AL..Man that was a good chase! Porsche was few miles ahead in 1990s!!

I used to build police cars for Maricopa County Sheriff's Department in AZ. The one thing I was disappointed in was they all had stock motors. The worst ones I built were the Tahoes, they were dogs, ridiculously slow and only got slower with the added equipment.
