KHALASUNI Wildlife Sanctuary

Brimmed with forests and mountains the state of Odisha is home to a sanctuary which is small in size but full of natural beauty. Spreading over an area of 116 sq km, it is Khalasuni sanctuary stationed at Khalasuni Wildlife range of Bamra Wildlife Division in Sambalpur district. It feels as if the wonders of nature lay here. Khalasuni abounded with Sal forests was recognized as a sanctuary in the year 1982. Later the security of the wild animals habituating in the sanctuary was made comprehensive and the people residing nearby were made aware of it. As a result the sanctity of the place remained intact and it turned out to be a beautiful home for the wild animals.
