    That Grateful Dead album is awesome! Congratulations on that find because they’re so rare still in the shrink wrap! As long as those fine scratches do not result in skips or worse, REPEATS, then it should be fine. Good job; love your videos!

    It was most likely me, as I'm about the only one who loves the Puff. Picked up an upgrade a few years ago now. I used to have the promo. I love it for its bouncy harmonic pop & dreamier aspects. "I Sure Need You" & "Changes" are tops for me.

      I figured it was haha. It's a fairly decent pop psych album that I plan on keeping in the collection for now. I also definitely need to spend some more time with it. ✌☮

    Blue Cheer is the bomb! I remember when it hit the racks and I picked up just for Summertime Blues! Saw them play a teen club in Fl in 1967 and loud is the key word! Seek out their 2nd LP Outside Inside for more Cheer!

    Awesome finds. I NEVER find Howlin wolf in the wild. I’ve also learned to shine a flashlight on the vinyl too. G+ can look NM at the right angle. I used to go record hunting i these rural NC antique shops and I’d always find insane deals. They’ll have scratched up Beatles records for $100 and then you find a Townes Van Zandt on the poppy label for $5

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I never see howlin wolf either, so I had to grab that copy. Really rural areas can hide some really good deals, I've gotten great stuff from booths where Beatles records are 100 bucks lol. Townes Van Zandt on poppy for 5 bucks is incredible! Thanks for watching ✌️

    Hey Sorin! Man I love Blue Cheers debut! And I also dig PBC too!
    Man once you got to the funk I was excited cuz I love Da Funk!
    Man you cannot go wrong with Ohio Players if you’re looking for solid funk/soul albums! And of course Parliament/Funkadelic are Funk Legends! Killer stuff! Great finds my friend! ✨✌️👽✨

      Thanks man! I love all of those old blues artists from the 20s-50s. I need to get more stuff like that in my collection. I also love most of the stuff from the British blues revival like Ten Years After and Cream and all that. Ohio Players are great! Thanks for watching ✌️

    Nice finds as always! I've tried and tried to get into the Peanut Butter Conspiracy but find them to just be "alright"( I only have a best of on a CDR) Alan Brackett's book about his time in the PBC is really good though.
    Can't go wrong with an OG "Vincebus Eruptum"! Whenever we are in a room that is crowded with a friend of ours he always say "You couldn't fit a Blue Cheer sideburn in here"
    The first Dead is the only one I can say I like. Sounds a bit garage-y, esp. "Cream Puff War" I too found an OG (in barn) with its original shrink but someone did the masking tape on the edges thing.

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Personally, I really enjoy the PBC. I think they are a great group with some great psych tunes! Can never go wrong with free records! Especially something as good as Vincebus Eruptum! I'll have to steal that joke about the sideburns. I love the dead, but for me the first two are my thing. Side one of Anthem of the Sun is psych perfection. Thanks for watching ✌️

    Hey man. Happy holiday weekend. I'm with you , I'll sacrifice condition for playability any day of the week. Especially on the cheap .Puff I've seen but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Dead self titled is a no brainer. Randy California is a gem. Howling Wolf no fail. Great stack. Always get funked up when you can. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊

      Thanks man! I'm the same way, and I will definitely take a risk on a cheap rare album if it looks to be in rough shape. I try to stay funked up at all times. Thanks for watching ✌☮

    Great finds! I actually have yet to find Peanut Butter Conspiracy in the wild, so my collection currently is lacking any of their albums. Instantly jealous lol. I also think the same with the blues that it ‘can’ sound the same, depending on who the artist is.
    Great funk as well. Parliament and Funkadelic can’t go wrong. If you haven’t already, check out Rotary Connection. Awesome psych-funk-soul. Their self titled debut album and ‘Aladdin’ are my favs, but they’re all good.
    Eric Burdon & War also put two great funk albums, the second of which is a double LP and is just amazing.
    Thanks for the video and absolutely awesome dollar bin finds.

      @sorinvinyl1523  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! I've seen Peanut Butter Conspiracy a few times, but I have yet to find the first one for a good price. Ten Years After is an example of a really creative blues band. I see Rotary Connection albums all around, so I'll have to check them out. I've got the Eric Burden and War stuff in my wantlist, really solid stuff. Thanks for watching! ✌☮

    That Dead cover is stunning. It's really great that people kept their LPs in the shrink. They preserved them for later generations. That 4 Seasons Lp came with an Insert, newspaper style booklet with a grocery store ad for various bands like...Elvis Parsley 79 cents, Choclate Covered Beatles $1.08 Lb. , Electric Prunes 98 cents Lb. to name a few. 🍎🍌🍓

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love when people kept things in the shrink wrap. I forgot to mention the insert, I wish mine had it :/ I already spent a long time reading all the little news stories on the cover haha. Thanks for watching ✌️

    I have a very strange relationship with the Garetul Dead debut. I know I love the sound of it, but for some reason I just can't memorise what the album sounds like. And I've got a feeling their whole discography just sounds the same. It would be a bad thing if it was crap, but I actually enjoy it. So idk how it works but no matter how many times I play it, I always forget if it's more psychedelic or blues, definitely can't remember the titles of the songs, no lyrics either. But I still enjoy it. Idk, can't explain it. It's absolutely unmemorable but at the same time I'm vibin hard to it. But on the other hand, it's kinda like you wish you could listen to a great album for the first time again. That's exactly what I'm feeling when listening to GD.

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've got a few albums like that. I'd say its a fairly even mix of psych and blues. I prefer Anthem of The Sun to it, but it's still a very good psych blues thing.

    • @crazyprayingmantis5596
      @crazyprayingmantis5596 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its funny ysay that because tbe exactly same thing happens to me with their album Aoxomoxoa (the only GD album I own)
      After I listen to it I can't remember a single bar, and if I had to explain how it sounds or what it's like I'd have no idea, it's like it erases my memory.
      I have a similar experience with the Sonic Youth album Daydream Nation accept with that album I can only ever remember one track, the rest of it is a blur and I've listened to both of these albums many times, they just don't have anything memorable about them.
      Are all GD albums like this?

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are definitely not like that for me, but I can see that if you aren't super into the dead, maybe the songs don't stick. I could sing and play the first side of Anthem of the Sun like it was the back of my hand for a while. I really love the dead so maybe that's why it stick for me 🤷‍♂️

    Totally agree with you about the Blues, the genre does very little for me, if you've heard one blues track you've heard them all.
    I don't understand why people go crazy over old blues albums, mostly very boring music imo.

    • @sorinvinyl1523
      @sorinvinyl1523  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I love a lot of Blues. There is a very creative way to do blues and there's a more boring way to do blues. Ten Years After is a great example of a super creative blues band. And I love the old stuff like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Lightnin Hopkins and all of them. To each his own I suppose 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for watching! ✌☮

    I prefer Edgar Winter stuff over Johnny Winter for the most part. It's weirder and less bluesy then his brothers stuff. "They only Come Out At Night" is a killer album and always dirt cheap.
