I made my first trip to the east coast last summer- humidity is NO JOKE WTF. It was like 80-90F where I was but I felt like I was suffocating from the heat. thanks for letting us know, i have a similar thing when the temperature gets kinda high my brain turns into a viscous liquid and starts sloshing around and leaking out of my ears and mouth and nose and i lose the ability to think
in south australia its the opposite. barely any humidity, its just ridiculously dry, but it gets to 120f every summer in some parts of the state. thankfully not the city, there's a good reason they're all on the coast here lol.
@npextra5863 thankfully I don't live further north though lol, they've got it rough. AVERAGES on 70-80% humidity in summer and temperature is consistently about 85-90f. darwin is an evil city (weather wise).

Heat is no joke specially when it's suddenly and not used to it so I hope eventually the weather gets better there! Hearing the air conditioning dust story made me shiver dust allergies suck a lot
As an aussie, although I do wince a little when hearing the temps complained about, not having proper AC, even in something as moderate as an 85F (30C) day, really can suck, especially when the houses themselves weren't intended for heat when they were built, and high humidity can make things even worse. For us it's the exact same when it's cold, winter solstice was just a few days ago and every morning I wake up with windows dripping wet from condensation, because our house was old enough to be installed without insulated walls and double-glazed windows. It's not just the heat itself, it's also infrastructure and what you're body's used to, especially when heatstroke becomes a concern, which is no joke. All the best going forward, honestly a heatstroke-ing with npesta fundraising stream to get a split system installed would be great

yo this is precisely why i dont like going outside in florida 😭 not trying to make it sound like i have it worse or anything but during summer here it gets to like 90+ daily outside, but luckily i have a working ac (although a few years ago a hurricane came and broke our ac; that was a fun few weeks.) hopefully the sun stops being insane where you are soon!

This is really the flip side of the coin when Texas gets snow and everything goes down. I live in the afflicted area and so few people have actual built in air conditioning. Even buildings like schools and town offices just don't have that infrastructure. It truly does suck and I relate to all stories like this.
where i live, the horrible heat took place during what would be the winter months since we're much closer to the equator. it was just as horrible, no ac, but at least we had a nice breeze on occasion. glad u got to solve ur situation which definitely sounded worse than what we had - i'd pass out in that heat

I have a decent heat tolerance so its normally okay, but whenever i try to go to sleep like it gets REAL. I cannot go to sleep in a hot room and i dont know why.
