Its kind of mind boggling that you know Billy, but you've never heard of Tommy Emmanuel! Don't get me wrong Billy is and upcoming superstar, but Tommy is a freaking LEGEND.
Happiness, 2 generations and 2 guitar maestros. Tommy is an Aussie. Billy is an American and now has an incredible 5 piece band with mandolin, upright bass, guitar, banjo and fiddle All absolute top class and fun. I loved seeing the joy on your face ❤❤❤
We saw Billy and his band last week , if its possible he is even faster now ! great reaction ! get tickets if you can ! he does over 200 shows a year !
@@JoneRuiz Clarkston, Michigan looks to be the closest on his winter shows, But keep looking ! We are still blown away , for what we heard and saw that night . its was trippy
Tommy is the greatest guitarist your may not have heard o of. Plays great lead and rhythm. Representing Australia proudly his entire life. He also plays a mean tele but he's mostly playing his Maton acoustic.
This is great to know! In fact, i did read that he was one of the guitarist from dire straits? Im i right? My apologies if im wrong. I think i read that somewhere in the internet.
@@JoneRuiz don't think that's true. Have seen a video of Tommy playing sultans of Swing but that would be as close as it gets. Mark and Tommy have both played with Chet Atkins.
tommys song lewis and clark is such an amazing instrumental guitar piece. he is one of the best guitarist to ever live and alot of the best guitar players would agree
From the comments it seems that a lot of the people here may not be as familiar with Billy. Let me tell you at his young age, he is a force to be reckoned with. I have been seeing him for the last 5 years or more and he is nothing short of phenomenal! He plays super clean and fast and his last album was up against Bela Fleck’s album for best bluegrass album. I was disappointed it did not win. It’s incredible. Check him out!
Great stuff. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought, ‘How marvellous, Tommy Emmanuel allowing a 9-year old girl up from the audience to participate; bless him!’, then I realised. They are amazing, improvising on the spot, with some great rhythmic comping while the other solos, harmony and, especially on the second track, contrapuntal playing to such a high standard. Both are incredible.
Great reaction! Love these two guys. Here's one from Tommy that I think you'll appreciate. Classical Gas [Mason Williams] | Tommy Emmanuel. Have a great day!
You should also give Leo Kottke a try. Eggtooth, June Bug and Oddball are all good ones to watch. In the 1970's and 80's he was one of the greats to see live. A master at finger style acoustic guitar. Too bad his magic fingers started to fail him in the 90's.
@@donst.pierre2283 I saw Leo in the 70's as the opening act with Mahavishnu Orchestra as the second act and Frank Zappa as the headliner, on mother's day!
Both of them are *SO* good tho!! :) If you've not seen it before, please treat yourself to Billy doing his #PanteraBluegrass song "Turmoil and Tinfoil": th-cam.com/video/fJmzS_Redh8/w-d-xo.html It's one of my favourite live music captures on the web. ;)
Nice review of the top class musicians, we are on a learning curve for fresh artists. Can I also recommend Mike Dawes & Molly Tuttle who have also dueted with Tommy.
Jone , Please check out Joe Bonamassa, Live at the Greek check out a song like "I'll Play The Blues For You' or "Thrill is Gone" or Angel Of Mercy". You won't believe your ears. Joe is the best electric guitarist in the genre of Blues alive today! Yes, a bold statement! I also play Banjo and three types of Guitar, You will thank me, I promise. Then there is a whole career you should check out!

Tommy Emanuel may be the most gracious super star. He is always careful not to steal the spotlight from the players he collaborates with.

Perfect example of the old saying "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts"! Spectacular!

You have to listen to Tommy playing "Classical Gas". It'll leave you speechless. The studio version with 27M views (!) is the one you want.
