After her win on NGT at 8 yo soon after she made her 1st visit to the U.S. and sang Fly Me to the Moon on "The View".
Forgot to mention following AJs win on NGT she had many engagements the 1st being at an outdoor venue in Norway where she sang "What a Difference a Day Makes (Dinah Washington)" and sometime during the year she performed at a charity event in Berlin and raise over 20 million euros.
And me,so proud she is from Norway 🇧🇻 ,so i can brag about it.

Nick- at this point, can you imagine going back in time, skipping listening to her and never knowing anything about her. There are loads of musicians that are talented and competent and all that who I forget. I hear them, I like them, but I can honestly say, I wouldn't miss many of them because they are all of the same "grade" to use a poor adjective. They are good. There are lots of good ones. But they are not the sort that pushes you back in your seat and leaves you dumbfounded like this miracle child. Can we all just take a moment and say a silent thank you to her mom Sara and her grandmother Mery for igniting the spark of life in this soul and raising her so well...
For your next one...There are so many songs to choose from. All are good. There are a few, like this one, that are absolute must see/ rites of passage. I put a spell on you, Bohemian Rhapsody, and I'm still holding out for you are the freight trains that knock you flat. After that you just pick a song you like or jump around to see how she sounds at different points in her growth. Don't worry about picking one that is "popular". You react to an AJ song and we will be there with you. One of her earlier ones that doesn't get near enough attention, IMHO, is when you're smiling. Lots of folks have sung this song since its first release in the late 1920's. To me her version is closest to the one by Louis Prima...

Great reaction to what I consider to be the best talent show performance I've ever seen -- and I've seen a lot. For AJ to walk on stage at 13 and perform at this level is beyond outstanding.
Nick, the suit she wears, is literally, the story of her life. Painted by grandma Mery, iranian paiter and poet, copied it over to wearable cloth and designed it. Angelina sewed it herself.

From left to right Her uncle and manager Michael Astar, her little sister Juliette, her mother Sarah Astar and her grandmother Mery Zamani. She does a lot of runs. They sound like they fit and not like a distraction or she is pushing it. The reason for this is the runs are actually guitar licks that Queen's band echos lead singer Freddie Mercury with during the song. Angelina hears a song differently than most people. She hears the inflections and feels the ambience of a song. Then she creates magic. I saw the tape of the first time she did this song in practice with her guitarist. She asked him if knew the song and then she just started singing. He is use to her method of creating her version of a song. The first time singing the song was almost identical to what she preformed in AGT.

@@ClandOp this was not the same clip. Unfortunately my lack of computer saavy limits my ability to provide you with a link. I saw it a while back and it was a segment in a podcast done by one of Angelina's super fan. It was very informal and like many things Angelina does looked like it was filmed on a phone. Just speculating.

Great job!....I don't think the phrase "making the song her own" really conveys the true genius of Angelina's arrangement. She re-invented one of the most iconic rock songs, fer gawd's sake!!!! And made it into an amazingly beautiful jazz lullaby. Who does that???

Angelina finally got to sing for Simon. No idea if she knew Simon was a big fan of hers or not before this performance but since Simon is involved with each country's Got Talent, he knew about Angelina when she won in Norway. Note how Heidi, after wishing Angelina good luck before she sang, was clapping for her. Each judge were honored to have a front row seat for, IMO, the best vocal performance on that stage. I have no idea if it is true or not, but I think Simon created The Champions edition of AGT in order to have Angelina on his stage.
Simon was clearly impressed. I love seeing him kind of put aside the judge persona and witness real talent

A GT negotiated for three years to get her to appear. Basically she appeared with no contractual obligations. Fun note. Angelina had actually been waiting ten years to sing for Simon. She had seen a talent show on TV, and told her Mother at age three she wanted to sing on “that Simon show “ her words.

Yes, Angelina was invited to come on the show. Her uncle arranged for her to be on the show but not to be under Simons contract, thus eliminating her from winning. Yes, they all knew who she was. You can almost give her the praise because they knew she was going to be a star, but then the cov hit and blocked AJ from going big back in 2020. What you missed in the show was Heidi slamming the golden buzzer. After the show Heidi and AJ are still good friends and this season (2023) of the show Germany Top Model, Heidi invited Angelina to be on the premiere, which ofcourse AJ fit right in standing in at 6ft tall herself, barefoot.
Angelina wrote a song "Million Miles" after a grandparent passed away. Its wonderful. Next review please.

Just 50 times? I have watched this hundreds of times. I still tear up every time. Watch her rehearsal for Quincy Jones 85th birthday concert. She sings Fly Me to the Moon which is the arrangement Jones did for Frank Sinatra and the Count Basie Band. He invited her to open the concert at the O2 Arena in London. She also got to perform Dream A Little Dream backstage for Jones. This is the only performer I can’t hear often enough.

This performance was my introduction to Angelina. My wife was watching the show in another room and called me into the room and said I needed to see this girl sing. I was mesmerized. I saved the recording and rewatched it about a dozen times that evening and discovered I choked up during that belting section every single time. It was like a drug. No singer had evoked emotion out of me like that before. After that I just went on a deep dive watching everything she had ever put on TH-cam and discovered many songs that had the power to bring me to tears. Thanks for your honest heartfelt reaction
Oh, Nick, if I had a buck for every reactor Angelina made cry. Angelina is the best singer I’ve ever heard. When you’re new to Angelina, you think you can’t continue to be amazed by her, but…no, you will be. I’ll quibble with your reaction just a bit. It’s not that her voice was perfect for this song. She’s known as the girl with a thousand voices because she can choose seemingly any voice needed for the specific song and genre, just like today’s.
Since you watched Angelina mesmerize the AGT audience and judges, stick with that and watch her next performance on AGT. It’s Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road. Like Bohemian Rhapsody, Angelina makes you understand the meaning of the lyrics in a way that Queen or Elton John never tried to do. You’ll see, as you watch more, that no singer you’ve ever heard interprets lyrics like Angelina. I think I have listened too all her songs and covers and I have not been disappointed .At 10 she sang a song by Baby Fuzz (I’m still holding out for you) I’m 71 years old and people in my household believe I’ve become obsessed with her voice. They could be right😢

A couple of things going on. "She did it to me again. How does she do it?" The love, the soulfulness in her voice is so genuine your heart melted with a warmness and your head hasn't been able to figure out what just happened. She smothered your heart with love, BUT, there's more. As you watched her and listened to her you became very PROUD of her. That is where you are at right now. "Does it get any better than this", you may ask. Yes, very much so. She is inspiring you to be kinder, more caring and loving than you have ever been in your life. A desire of her is to do what she can to help make the world a better place to live for everyone, particularly for those in need and she plants the seeds of love in us and, in our own ways, we do our part by passing on our love, our kindness to others around us. People around you, people you've known for your entire life, will notice a difference in you. And, when you look into their eyes you will see the love inside them like you've never seen before. You need to see the other 2 songs she did at AGT2020. Both unbelievable. She is 13 in all 3 AGT2020.
You also need to hear her at 10 years old where she was invited to open for Allen Walker and on of his large concerts. She sings "Sing Me To Sleep" and "FADED" at the same concert ..... what you won't believe hearing her on these 2 is that she was very sick with a 102 fever and a sore throat, but insisted to go on and open for Allen Walker .... he said in an interview that he loves Angelina singing his song because she makes them sound good!!

Very special. Never have I ever heard a cover that I knew the original of, and successfully managed to properly intake the cover. I entirely forgot to compare it for one, and haven't bothered since for another. Not one thought put to it, where would you even begin? Entirely different song, a new journey she takes us on. Hi, Nick. Great to see you again. She won Norway's Got Talent (age 7/8), so as a winner, she was invited to participate in AGT Champions. So this is not ordinary AGT. SHE saw Simon at age 3 on Britain's Got Talent, which was his first show in the franchise or whatever it is called. Yes. This is exquisite. Her own arrangement, praised by Queen who gave her the rights to her version. She got Heidi Klum's golden buzzer. She zeroed in on the emotional truth of the story and sang it with all her skill and compassion. I still get chills and cry after hundreds of listens. Hugs to you, Nick. Grandma Ellen, out.

The band Queen was so impressed, they tweeted the video and simply said, "Wow! What a rendition." I forget the time stamp, but they cut to her family, and mom is wiping a tear from her sister Juliette. I'm 54 and I've had more tears from her songs than any other artist. Her voice wraps around your soul like a warm blanket in winter.
Nick, there will be plenty more tears. This was a religious experience for me the first time I watched this, and tears the hundred times I've heard this since. I went from Norway's Got Talent right to this two years ago and have not missed a day of Angelina since. Now just listen to everything she's done. There are so so many more amazing songs by this genius.

This was from AGT The Champions, taped in Oct ‘19, went out in Jan/Feb ‘20. Lots of AGT fans missed The Champions series. Although calling it a series .. only 2 were taped, this was the second. Speculation was this was to stop all the talent going to the Asian shows. Great reaction again!
Angelina can always surprise you - just when you think you know her she shows new quality. Here you said (same what many people said) that she works best with simple arrangement where there is only one or 2 instruments so her voice shine but you should see also different side of Angelina with full blown orchestra

Absolutely phenomenal performance from our barefoot princess, After this performance Angelina received a tribute message from the band Queen congratulating her on a amazing arrangement of their classic song, and the guy’s from Queen gave Angelina the copyright to her arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, this performance was also classed as the best performance on a talent show and Angelina received the Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum which meant that Angelina went straight to the final of the show, also the performance has been watched by around 110 million people so far, Angelina is a musical genius, this previous summer (2022 ) I attended Angelina’s live concerts in her home country Norway 🇳🇴 her stage presence was outstanding her live vocals phenomenal, and Norway is a beautiful country for amazing views and hospitality, great reaction thanks 🙏

I'm 59 and have enjoyed many genre of music thru out my life...I'm so bless to be around long enough to witness, to see the growth of a musical genius, a prodigy, that which is Angelina . Angelina has it ALL. Her supreme talent , her charisma, her charm, and her looks. Her character and her beautiful ways is so endearing. And OMG, she has grown into a living goddess, WOW!. Great music, you can listen again and again and no matter how many times there is always something new to hear. Angelina’s singing is like this every single time.
I knew this would be your reaction to this song in particular. No one else, other than her, has ever or perhaps ever will do it that way again. I have seen her perform this after this show, and not to diminish her subsequent performant of it in any way. This will stand out as her signature breakthrough performance for the world.
Clearly, her vocal talents are on a whole other level than most vocal artists, but even more astounding is her ability to rearrange the song to fit her style while maintaining the clear intent of the original writer. Those two qualities combined make her a true prodigy.
Remember, she started this performance acapella without even a reference note from any instrument while in front of several hundred in the room, plus Simon Cowell and an entire TV audience of perhaps millions, at what she described as the best opportunity of her life. She showed zero nerves and performed as an absolute professional. How many vocalists would have enough confidence to do that at 13 or any age?
Additionally, she is endeavoring to become proficient with multiple musical instruments while still continually honing her vocal skill set, thanks in no small part to the patient and dedicated guidance and support of her grandmother and mother.
I am not overstating it when I say I think we are witnessing a musical prodigy like none we have ever seen or are likely to see in anyone else anytime soon.
I love it when I see that others can recognize what they are really witnessing with her.
Right, the start was acapella and that is incredibly hard to do. Not to mention the gravity of the situation. It's not like it was a recording studio where she could do multiple takes.

PNH She had an in-ear monitor. So you can't rightly say that she started without a reference note.
@@103mrg Having used EAMs myself, I can tell you that typically there is only sound IF the mix is being played. If the beginning line is acapella, then there is no mix playing and thus no reference notes being played,
EAMs are used to replace stage wedges because they are safer for the performers and the musicians.
Angelina is a consummate, seasoned performer who has been since she was 5 or 6 years old; that fact cannot be argued. We must remember that at 17, she has been performing at a professional level far longer than most, if not all, of her contemporary artists today.
She is a once in a lifetime talent...absolutely a gift to the world.

Beautiful reaction, Nick 🙂 I know, it is very difficult to pinpoint WHAT it is in her voice that is so incredibly penetrating. If there is something called God frequency I think maybe she has it. I'm not a religious person, but I do believe there is something more to Angelina. She is on a mission. And so are you. A mission to explore her vast catalogue and go down her rabbit hole. Tbh, I'm almost envious of you - that you get to experience her for the first time. Soon we can experience her first time together, when her album releases. I'm looking incredibly forward to that!

Hi Nick, finally got a chance to watch your video and I was impressed as I knew I would be from the first time. Before getting to Angelina, I want to say that your presentation is stellar. Personal and genuine, insightful, and informative. We are not just watching you play a video. We are experiencing everything together as you become an angel yourself.
This particular AGT series is the champions. All contestants have won or at least placed in the top of regular Got Talent series all over the world, including the US. Angelina qualified having one Norway's Got Talent as a young child. She has two more performances including goodbye yellow brick road by Elton John, and someone you loved by Lewis Capaldi. Those would probably be your next reactions.
You did not see the fourth judges comments from Heidi Klum. She actually gave Angelina the golden buzzer, and there is another video which shows that and is titled accordingly. Angelina did not win the champions series as there were many other types of talent other than singing. Magic, acrobatics, dancing, comedy, etc. Angelina's family also knew in advance that they would not sign with Simon's label if she won. We don't know whether that had any bearing on her not winning but some people speculate. The interesting thing is that Heidi Klum who gave her the golden buzzer took an instant liking to Angelina and the two have become very close friends to this day. Angelina was 13 on the show initially and is 17 now, so a few years have passed.
Heidi being a model I believe has recognized the same potential in Angelina, and Angelina has become very fashion oriented in recent months. Heidi also invited her to perform at Germany's next top model which I believe airs on May 11th. Don't know if that will be made public.
Angelina releases her new original single this Friday, and they have just announced that her EP will release next month! This is a big year for Angelina Jordan.

Thanks for another great, heartfelt reaction to & appreciation of another masterful performance by Angelina where she reinterprets this classic well known Queen song & adds her own emotional delivery & magic. This particular video did not include the part where Heidi hits the golden buzzer. What happens after that is something I've never seen before on AGT - all 4 judges go on the stage to congratulate Angelina. She did 2 more AGT performances & I highly recommend her 2nd performance - the Elton John classic: Yellow Brick Road. (And if you listen closely to the lyrics, you will hear her foretelling the outcome of the "competition".) It should be noted that AGT pursued Angelina to be on their show. While her family agreed - it was only on the condition that they did not have to sign the standard AGT contract. Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.
