Okay fellow crocheters. THIS is the best crochet hack I have ever seen! I will play around with it until I perfect it and will use this every time I have to change colors here on out. I have seen it done but NOT this way. Thanks so much for sharing with with me! ❤😊
You are the first one to show exactly what to do with the little tails. Thank you so much. Been crocheting for 53 years and many knots. Again thank you!
Hello. I'm 64 and been crocheting ever since I can remember. I use to tie a knot in the end till I seen this. Fantastic way to hide the joining. Thank you so much.
Yarn tails are work of the devil. I’d rather have dental work than weave them in. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I’ve been crocheting for over 50 years and this is the most helpful tip I’ve ever learned. You ROCK!
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!! I have been a crocheter all my life (just about) and have always struggled with this process. Thank goodness for TH-cam and you wonderful people who take the time to post your awesome talents and ideas.
I had to find your video again and tell you that I was new at crochet but hated ends so was avoiding changing colors and you opened up the whole crochet world for me because it freed me from so my ends I can make a huge color changing blanket and only have 2 ends!! Much Love ❤️
Oh my goodness, thank you! I’m doing a pattern where I have to change color at the end of every row & thought there must be a better way than having to weave in 100s of ends. You’ve saved my sanity!
Wow! Thank you for this nifty little trick. Wished I had known about this before venturing into making a multi colored blanket which I had to weave in all the ends. Thank you so much. I’ll practice this and proceed with more confidence. Glad I found your video.🍀👍🍀
Grrrreat!!! Your technique of joining those yarns are simply superb. I can't imagine how many trials and errors it'll take me to get it right. Thank you so much for sharing.
I am a beginner, and I will use 2 colors for the first time. I was avoiding to do it. I am happy I found your video . I hope it will work for me. Very motivated!
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this technique. I love the hidden knot! I could not find a 'no weaving in ends' video for changing yarn colors at the *end* of a row like you've done, so it's very appreciated. Hap-py crocheting! 🧶🦋
AWESOME BLOSSOM ♥️🌻💚 *Thank You!* I have ALLWAYS hesitated in making ANYTHING with many color changes just for the reason of the adventure of the tails. LOL This has inspired me to use pretty color combination yarns in bigger projects.!
Thank you for posting this!! I've tried to follow other videos for this method and could never get it to work out right. Thanks to your video, now I can!!
The BEST version of this I've seen!! I always wondered why everyone used such short bunny ears. Made me nervous. Haha! Using this going forward. Thank you! 🤗
Doing multi colored blanket right now in square and I'm maybe 1/4 way finished and have so many ends already! This is so helpful, excited to try it tonight! Thank you!
Hi Kelly thank you for sharing the niffty idea. I was skeptical of it working on the Hogwarts scarf I was knitting for my niece, with all the color changes required. It work like a dream and made knitting a pleasure. Thank you. Beginner knitter natter
It just so happens I am working on a Ripple patter myself, and this is the best tutorial yet!!! It will take me some time to get it right and I will follow along with the video on my next color change...Thank you so much!!!!!
This is great!! I've seen other no weaving ends in but it only seems to work if you are joining a new ball in the middle of the row and you don't know (or doesn't matter) where the new yarn will start. I've never find one to switch colours at the end of a row in the exact spot you want.
Unbelievable- thanks for sharing...I'm an intermediate crocheter who HATES CHANGING COLORS! I limit myself to self-pooling/striping yarns much of the time.
As soon as I get the knot done, I give it a tug and color A comes right out of the knot so it isn't tying them together. I have tried 10 times and it just isn't working. I tried it first without a swatch and it worked, with the swatch it won't work 😢
Weaving in ends & swapping between colors has been one of the banes of my existence. This seems like a really great method & I’m excited to try it! I’m just wondering if you do ever have issues with the knots coming undone & what you could do if that happens. Seems like without any extra tail to work with, you’d be sort of screwed if the knots loosened.
I've never personally had any knots come our or had any reports of knots coming out. If it is going to work it's way out, it should do so with your couple of tugs. The only yarn I can think of that may be difficult to secure would be a silky or slippery yarn.
Do you have a recommendation on how to do this when you have to switch colors multiple times in one row? Like even every other stitch is a different color at some point in a row for some patterns?
I saw this video and you made it seem so easy. I have a work in progress where there are a lot of color changes and lots of ends. I'm looking for suggestions on this knot. I have been trying it for over an hour and 47 knots, so far, and have only had one that didn't pull out immediately. I would love to get some suggestions on what I might be doing wrong. I have my laptop on my lap and go step by step with you. It is so frustrating. Grrrr. Any suggestions why my knots pull out like that. The one that worked, looked great but I have not been able to repeat it. Thanks for your help.
I am headed to bed for now, I will try to connect and respond when I get a chance later to get a better idea of what could be going on. Sorry you are having a rough go at it!
Im totally going to try this knot. Currently on a thick yarn kick so hopefully this will still work. Cool! Also, yarn over and under in the same double crochet stitch. Does that save yarn? I always wondered if it would make that big a difference other than the tension? Sometimes when I only have a bit of yarn I wonder if I should try it?
I really wqnt this to work im doing everything exactly as you shw it but for some reason my first colore just pulls right out wgen i go to tighten the not could you tell me what im doing wrong
You have 222,000 views on this fantastic idea, but so few suacribers. Please think of other shortcuts that you could share with us. I have been crocheting 60 years, but never saw this exact idea. Sometmes we don't think our techniques are valuable to anyone else, but you are bound to have a lot more. Please think about it. And thanks. God bless.
I doing something wrong! I can’t figure out what?!!! I’ve tried it 7 times now and every time I try it, the new yarn just slides right off the old yarn. If I try to pull it tight, it just comes apart! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!???? HELP!!! I know it must work! I’ve read the comments and I can SEE that it must work!
That’s amazing and just what I was looking for! For my already completed projects where the yarn ends have begun to poke out through use of the item: any fixes?
My best suggestion is just to weave your ends back and forth to secure. When you have little itty bitty bits coming out you can usually snip off the tiny bits just make sure you don't snip snip snip snip until it's too short
Great question! The join would likely be more obvious since knitting typically creates a much thinner fabric. I am not sure how many needle wraps it would take to line it up but next time I am knitting, I'll test it out.
I use that method in both crochet and knitting, but like she said in another reply, you have to make sure you don't snap the yarn when pulling too tight. Some yarns aren't as strong as others. I've tried it with wool yarn and it will break if pulled too hard.
This video was best, showing the knot and the stitch, others show how to do the knot only, so it was great, my only problem was finding the video to follow otherwise great
Ugh, I haven't crotcheted in years and I'm trying to change colors for a baby blanket. I used to just change colors by cutting and doing a square knot, never learned about tucking in tails. I keep trying this and the knot comes loose every time. I must be doing it wrong, so frustrating.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong the second time around. First time was a succes. But now I am not able to make the knot in a way that makes the "old" colour stay in It just slips out of the knot. I'll try again tomorrow.
I've never tried this for knitting. I am not sure it would work since the crochet stitch hides the knot. There isn't really a good place to hide a knot in knitting since it is a thin fabric.
Okay fellow crocheters. THIS is the best crochet hack I have ever seen! I will play around with it until I perfect it and will use this every time I have to change colors here on out. I have seen it done but NOT this way. Thanks so much for sharing with with me! ❤😊

Oh my goodness, thank you! I’m doing a pattern where I have to change color at the end of every row & thought there must be a better way than having to weave in 100s of ends. You’ve saved my sanity!
If you're changing color after each row, it's simpler to just drop the old yarn and pick up the new one. No knots and no cutting of the yarn!
@@voyager9028 But you're still going to have ends to weave in?
Genius, simply genius! I saw this before but lost it, now here it is again so it’s saved. Thank you.❤️
Thank you. No one else was explaining that you have to cut the ends of your yarn off before joining and you explained it very well.
Wow! Thank you for this nifty little trick. Wished I had known about this before venturing into making a multi colored blanket which I had to weave in all the ends. Thank you so much. I’ll practice this and proceed with more confidence. Glad I found your video.🍀👍🍀
This is the best method for joining in tail ends I've ever seen and easiest!!! LOVE it, & thank you. 😙😚👍
Omg!!!! That's an amazing technique....have seen it a million times before but the way you've done it to change colors is awesome
Thank you for the thorough explanations and demo!! Very clever tip!!!👍✨
You saved my crochet life 🐑 I am so grateful.
Grrrreat!!! Your technique of joining those yarns are simply superb. I can't imagine how many trials and errors it'll take me to get it right. Thank you so much for sharing.
Very nice "disappear'g knot! Looks so much smoother then all that weaving. Thank you.
O M G! I will no longer avoid striped projects!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for showing me. That makes it look so much nicer.
Thank you for show how to measure and get the join at the perfect spot! I am so tired of cut ends fraying! Wow! Bless you!
I am a beginner, and I will use 2 colors for the first time. I was avoiding to do it. I am happy I found your video . I hope it will work for me. Very motivated!
Thank you for sharing this. It's EXACTLY what I needed right now!
Omg thank u I've been trying to do this forever it never works but the way u do is awesome thanks for sharing
Wow! My mind is blown and I am so excited to try this!
I have been looking everywhere for this ripple pattern.
Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this technique.
I love the hidden knot!
I could not find a 'no weaving in ends' video for changing yarn colors at the *end* of a row like you've done, so it's very appreciated.
Hap-py crocheting! 🧶🦋
Absolutely brilliant..... thank you for re-sharing this tip. 👍
AWESOME BLOSSOM
♥️🌻💚
*Thank You!* I have ALLWAYS hesitated in making ANYTHING with many color changes just for the reason of the adventure of the tails. LOL
This has inspired me to use pretty color combination yarns in bigger projects.!
My pleasure! Glad I could help ☺️
You do this much better. The twisting of the yarns is what will help most !! Thank you
Thank you so much! After some practice, I got it! Its a great knot to use!
Thanks so much for the tip!! It definitely will save me loads of time in the future!!❤️😍😘
Thank you for posting this!! I've tried to follow other videos for this method and could never get it to work out right. Thanks to your video, now I can!!
Wow--I've been using someone else's knot like this and sometimes I failed miserably, but your tutorial is the BEST!
Thank you! I'm so glad I could help to clear this up for you :)
The BEST version of this I've seen!! I always wondered why everyone used such short bunny ears. Made me nervous. Haha! Using this going forward. Thank you! 🤗
Its wonderful technique, great relief for crocheters😍😍😍
Doing multi colored blanket right now in square and I'm maybe 1/4 way finished and have so many ends already! This is so helpful, excited to try it tonight!
Thank you!
Holy smokes I wish I came across this video earlier!!!!! Thank you so much. My ends were all so obviously sticking out of my shawls. Yay!!!!!!
WHAT OMG THIS IS AMAZING!
FASCINATING ! 👵 I've been doing it WRONG for over 50 yrs. 👍
Hi Kelly thank you for sharing the niffty idea. I was skeptical of it working on the Hogwarts scarf I was knitting for my niece, with all the color changes required. It work like a dream and made knitting a pleasure. Thank you. Beginner knitter natter
That is PERFECT!!!!! I’m so relieved
Thank you I was having problems following the original video.
Wow! Great idea. I have to practice this with scraps until I get it. TFS!
Great video!! Thankyou so much for this video !
I gave up on a blanket with color changes on nearly every row. Couldn't handle weaving in so many ends. I'm going to give this a try!
It just so happens I am working on a Ripple patter myself, and this is the best tutorial yet!!! It will take me some time to get it right and I will follow along with the video on my next color change...Thank you so much!!!!!
So cool, thanks for the tip, I'm definitely going to do this next time l have to change colors.

You’ve Revolutionized my life. Thank you
THANK YOU! I could never get this method before and had no idea how to make the ends work out right for continuing on with another color.
Glad to help!
Thank you so much for this. I watched it in Afghans only and am eager to try it on my next project. Thank you again
Sure wish I knew what I do wrong tried I bet 8 times my old yarn just pulls right thru no knot.😒
Oh I’m so trying this thank you!
Brilliant! And, the best compliment of all, very neat 😊👍🏻
I got to try this, it’s so clever Thanh you!
Thanks so much for this makes colour changing so much easier thank you
Unbelievable- thanks for sharing...I'm an intermediate crocheter who HATES CHANGING COLORS! I limit myself to self-pooling/striping yarns much of the time.
just so efficient thank you
That’s perfect!! Thank you posting!! I’ll Like the magic knot but it’s a pain. Lol
This is interesting but after years and several washing how does this fair. Love your colours . I will try it
This is the exact pattern I just finished for a Christmas gift. A lap blanket. I wish I had seen this sooner. Neat idea. Thanks for sharing.
As soon as I get the knot done, I give it a tug and color A comes right out of the knot so it isn't tying them together. I have tried 10 times and it just isn't working. I tried it first without a swatch and it worked, with the swatch it won't work 😢
It’s not working for me either. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. 😢
Thank you very much it's a an easy way to Change color

kellsbells69666 thank you for the input!
Your explanation was wonderful! Thank you! I can’t wait to try this because I hate weaving in the ends. So boring! Haha 😆
THANK YOU! So much time saved.
Inspired. Thanks for sharing.
I love it!
Do you have a recommendation on how to do this when you have to switch colors multiple times in one row? Like even every other stitch is a different color at some point in a row for some patterns?
I just finished a feather and fan blanket using those exact 3 colors except mine were Plymouth Encore. Wish I'd had this tip!
Thank you!
Really hope you’re going to do more crochet videos
I'm hoping to once we get moved into our home. Until then, any requests are welcome as I have been on a bit of a crochet hiatus 🙃
Thank you!!!!!!
Love it
Great idea!!
I can't take credit for the idea, only my recording. Thank you for stopping by!
Good love it!!
Love love this. Wheres the pattern for that. Blanket?
BEAUTIFUL
Oh yeah that looks great what size hook are you using is that an H ?
Perfect, love it!!

Are you using a really silky or slick sport weight?
I am headed to bed for now, I will try to connect and respond when I get a chance later to get a better idea of what could be going on. Sorry you are having a rough go at it!
I'm having the same problem, all I seem to be able to do is make a slip knot. I wish I knew why. I'm using regular acrylic yarn.
amazing! thank you!
I love it and you clearly show how to.
How did you start pattern. I would like to learn how to do this I only crochet the granny Square
Amazing. Thank you.

Yes, I noticed that she starts her double crochet with a yarn under, too, and wondered about it.
I really wqnt this to work im doing everything exactly as you shw it but for some reason my first colore just pulls right out wgen i go to tighten the not could you tell me what im doing wrong

Whaaaaaaaatttttt?!?!?!?! That's crazy!!!! So, cool!!! Thx!!!!

I’m having the same problem. I’ve tried like 30 times and only got it right two or three times. I’m doing the same process every time. ☹️

I know that Tiffany Hansen on her channel likes to add small dabs of clear and flexible fabric glue to help secure ends
Awesomeness
litterly does not work I mean I tried the knot at least 100 times and kt failed wach time
I want to try and make a graphghan with this method but I’m terrified 😂
Do you think this would work for knitting too?
