I am very poor and I built one for maybe 300€ total from a second hand chest freezer. I put silicone sealant on the interior edges and then put a pond liner (basically a large PVC sheet) in it for extra comfort/protection. hooked it up to a temperature controller and ready to go. It really was not hard to do at all
Great review. I understand that this unit was designed/built with a target price point in mind so I understand the basic design. However, I can't help but make some simple observations. The aquarium pump seems inadequate for filtering a commercial unit. I'm using an above ground 1,000 gph unit my DIY. Also The filter submerged and the lines over the side just seem somewhat awkward. Running the lines through the floor where there are normally no cooler lines is preferable imho. Lastly, running an ozone generator would be my second option. A UV clarifier is safer as it does not have the potential to build up too high of an ozone level or affect people with asthma. My total cost with a new chest freezer on sale was right around 1,000 for 14.8 cu ft unit...
I'm really glad you did this review Kyle! I love cold plunges and have a portable, inflatable kind to get started with. I'll be upgrading to a new system and Box Plunge may be a great value.
@@robm321"Break it Yourself" made a great Video about that. Just dont do hist mistakes with watertighten this thing and you can do it in the 3-5hours 😄 If you are handy...
not suprised youre recommending going this route. Watched one of your other videos dishing out terrible advice on a chest freezer build. obviously have no clue what you're doing, why even make these videos

I just built mine diy aswell. Hardest part was cleaning it because it was second hand😂
Trying to justify 3,000$ plunges for paid promotions

nice! yeah i think it is great value, and one of the few good options that is under 5k
5 hours to put together? Lost me right there
I'm poor and can't afford this. But everyone isn't me. I think it's fair to talk about this as an option, it's just not for me financially.
Fancy casket vibes, could just be the hardware
You can build exactly the same with a chest Freezer from craigslist for about 500$ and worktime is the same than putting this together... honestly...
What's CL?
