But I thought that in Mexico the police respected old people unlike the USA. Correct me if I am wrong.

No, you are very right. But this occurred at least 20 years ago, so I was in my late 40s, or at most, my early 50s.....still a young man by most standards. Now, at 68, I certainly don't think that I would be treated the same way. Also, you must understand, it is no lie or exaggeration that many, many Mexican police( and even military) have direct ties to organized crime. Many of the beheadings that still occur in my home state of Guerrero, are not done by some marijuana smoking delinquent, but rather by police and military under orders of the crime bosses. So the policeman with the scar would probably even treat me the same way today, even at my old age. But, it is true that Mexican authorities in general, give a lot more leeway to older people that American authorities would.

jaja...cuando quieres venir, estas bienvenido en mi casa....pero no se si has visto los videos que he publicado de mi casa...es muy, muy pequeña...solo un cuarto. Pero en este año que voy, estoy rentando casas en dos otros pueblos aparte, y si son mas grandes. Saludos Campista!
