As someone who got burnt out and left her music major, Kevin Penkin's work is the only thing that makes me long to make music again. His work is so breathtakingly beautiful, it reminds me of what music was to me before so many people ruined it. It has that chidlish excitement to it and I love every second of his works.

Old Stories will always resonate with me since i used it while reading the manga and thinking about other things, the music along with this arc was just so painfully beautiful.
Old Stories reminds me of Von from Terror in Resonance. A feeling of nostalgia mixed with bitter sadness... but in the background, there still holds hope of the future

I wouldn't say ALL. There's a lot of unfavorable fanservice thrown in it that would make no difference to the story if left out. But apart from the weird fanservice parts, it is excellent.
while I love this story and anime, it would honestly be significantly better without the weird sexual innuendos. They add literally nothing to the story and are the only thing that mars the show/mangas reputation.

The start of Old Stories... man, that start is really something... something powerful. That description is used so much today, but this is the place it belongs. Powerful, and a calm kind of powerful. When you've hit the wall, you close your eyes and hear that and you remember the reason you have to keep walking. You'd expect for a situation like that some epic powerful guitar riffs, but no, just a few piano notes and a genius composer is all it takes.
Best soundtrack of the year. Kevin Penkin elevates this show to a whole other level.

El primer ost sin duda alguna es un tesoro y una reliquia única de esta 2da temporada.
Я вообще кликнул на этот ролик чуть ли не случайно. Но когда же музыка включилась, я вспомнил второй сезон, все переживания героев, свои переживания, моменты, когда меня воротило от просмотра. Но всё же позитивные эмоции берут верх и я рад, что во времена плохих аниме и неприятных жизненных ситуаций есть такое аниме, которое готов заставить меня всплакнуть и хоть и через отвращение, но насладиться историей. А музыка, которой не стало в разы больше всё так же меня завораживает. Просто спасибо.
Это точно. Месяца 2-3 назад посмотрел, до сих пор держит под всей этой историей. Рад что после полнометражки не стали еще больше нагнетать , а показали удивительную, грустную но красивую историю новых персонажей с ИХ историей, ИХ проблемами и ИХ решениями. ФАЦЦУ, САМБУРЕМО СОС

Why are songs with a lyrics that is no actual language or words so incredibly beautiful? Coraline's song always was the perfect example of this but now we have the masterpiece that old stories is.

Toda vez que eu vejo algo relacionado ao anime Made in Abyss a sensação que passa é que o autor quer deixar a identidade do anime como algo desolador, quanto mais fundo a Riko e os seus amigos se aventuram no Abismo menos esperanças eles terão, isso pra mim é simplismente fascinante porque geralmente nos animes quanto mais episodios e sagas vão se desenvolvendo mais o protagonista vai se fortalecendo e mais esperanças você vai tendo do protagonista realizar seus sonhos seja eles quais são, mas em Made in Abyss é diferente, quanto mais os episódios passam vai ficando cada vez pior e consequentemente menos esperança se tem de um final feliz, e eu acho essa situação fascinante! Esse anime é uma obra de arte, sem mais!!!

i love this anime so much, it has to be top 3 for me. this anime moved me when I watched it for the first time last summer of 2022
Made in Abyss is such an intricately tragic tale of adventure, misadventure, loss, grief and everything between. I know it appalls some people that all of these horrific things happen to children in this anime. But I think that is why it hits and hurts so deep. Its because of the innocence of such young lives having no other choice but walk through hell.
The musical score perfects this already complete painting of art. I loved all of it. I wept so much during this show.

This anime If it was so innocent and superficial, these songs would not have affected you, and you would not be so attached to it that you would be commented in a video of it's OST. This series is horrifying, traumatizing, deppressing yet its wonderful and yet again you will remain attached to it, just like the abyss
For me the music transmits beauty, but not everyone knows that beauty comes with cruelty and cruelty with beauty. That's the true of nature, and thats what makes life wonderful. If sadness did not exist, happiness would lose its meaning, the same way that beauty would lose its meaning if cruelty, eyesore did not exist

I don't usually comment on videos. Although I would like to say these soundtracks, especially ''old stories'' tell an amazing story and they immerse you in a world of its own. It's like you can picture the story and its journey. Its as if the abyss is telling a story of its own, from the nature overflowing as time is passing. Beautiful.

Дааа, есть такое, некоторые саундтреки настолько пропитаны атмосферой бездны, что прям мурашки по коже идут от прослушивания, редко такое бывает
Simplismente um dos melhores animes que eu assisti, se eu colocar ele num top eu diria que made in abyss ta em top 2, porque fazia muito tempo que eu n assistia nada que me deixasse pensativo e me fizesse refletir sobre a vida e como ela as vezes pode ser tão amarga, porem no final de tudo você seria recompensado no final com coisas boas, na minha visão made in abyss representaria que mesmo tão proximo da escuridão, você ainda pode encontrar uma luz de salvação em meio a ela...
E o penkin simplismente fez old histories que representa muito bem tudo que eu falei, ela faz um misto dessas emoções que quando você termina o anime, você não consegue esquecer dessa trilha e oque ela representa, alem de que a utilização de uma lingua "morta" pra música foi uma coisa totalmente inesperada que mostra como tudo mesmo sendo dificil você ainda consegue superar com sua força e esperança.

Ля, мне после внимательного прослушивания Old Stories впервые за 13 лет приснился сон, покуда кемарил на работе.
Я...ну не могу передать эмоций и точно рассказать, но он подарил мне чувства умиротворения, смущения и неловкости, приправленное загадочностью и помноженное на забытую детскую доброту. Ну и немного грусти от расставания.
Очень приятно, может, конечно, совпало, а может и сама песня зарядила меня на этот настрой. Но они точно подходят друг другу.
Этот саундтрек копипаста, при чем из 3ех разны треков как мнимум. Мотивчик на пианино это 100% какая-то попса из 2010 или не попса, а радиохед, не знаю, что-то прямо похожение. Виолончель из этого трека это саундтрек играющий в сериале Lost когда ДЖон Лок вспоминал как встал с инвалидного кресла. И еще что-то слышится. Отсуда и ощущение возможной ностальгии, поэтому что ты уже это слышал где-то.

Endless embrace is probably my favorite its so intense yet slow and calming.Then you remember this is an anime about kids going on an adventure just to be killed by the horrors of the abyss
Man i love this anime so much i cried so many times😭❤️ the story the artwork characters Everything is top tier. While watching the anime, it seemed to me that I had become attached to this anime, as the story progressed, I was also thinking of myself as a character who went on an adventure with 3 people. How can I tell my feelings I love this anime so much and I will watch it again. waiting for S3 and more. I want to go on adventures with these guys again and also my ex name was Riko
If you like the adventure and world of abyss, I suggest mushoku tensei. That anime gave me the same feeling as made in abyss did back when I watched it for the first time in 2018. Made in Abyss is so so good, I really wished I can watch it all over again and get that childlike wonder of the world I did in 2018. If you want to read the manga, I suggest to read the story all over again as there some bits and pieces missing from the anime that you would miss otherwise. However, the manga is much more raw but you already know how fucked up the series is anyways so go for it if you want. The manga really feels like you are reading an epic, an ancient fairy tale, like a dark side of a disney show. It doesn't feel like a manga with its rough sketching and panelling. Mickell Pickell is planning an animated manga playlist and is planning on doing the entire manga so if you want another perspective on the story you can watch his playlist. I just love this story to bits and I cant wait for whats next in the series.

The theme of loss is so palpable in these songs. And longing. And wondering. I think we all wonder what life could have been like if it was kinder than it is.
