The more i listen the more i realize whoever composed these is a genius, without this amazing score the anime would not be as impactful, not trying to downplay the story, its just that all these tracks evoke emotion in so many different ways that when paired with the story its simply a amazing experience.
The first art shown together with Tozo Hanoline (02:06:50) has the same feeling as most of the art I saw as an early teen on the net. That and the nostalgic sort of the song takes me right back to those relaxed days. Good times, good times

I'm always surprised when people say they want to feel psychological and emotional pain for three straight seasons. i finished the anime around a week or two ago, and now i have volume 11 next to me because i didnt want to wait for more to get animated. after i finished the show, i found the entire soundtrack and ive been listening to all of it on repeat for days. made in abyss went from an anime i heard about and was tempted to watch but didnt get around to it for a while, all the way to my 2nd favorite anime by the time i was done with it. i strongly debate whether or not i like re: zero more, as that would be my number 1, and recency bias may be playing a part in made in abyss being number 2, but i dont think that ranking will go down. made in abyss is legitimately one of my favorite pieces of art across all forms of it. when i saw the first monster they dealt with (not the splitjaw but im blanking on its name), i wasnt super impressed because its art style felt really off compared to the rest of the show, but that was the only thing that even had a slight negative response from me. every single character that im aware of so far is absolutely amazing in their design. my favorite character is Ozen FOR SURE. she is such a badass character, looks awesome, her armor is perfect, shes super believable within that universe, and the way she was written was imo, the best they couldve done with the time she was present in the story. and then we have the soundtrack. holy fuck is the soundtrack the best soundtrack i think i may have ever heard. there are a lot of games and shows ive played and watched over the years, and i love a lot of different soundtracks ive heard, like the dark souls game's soundtracks, destiny soundtracks, NieR soundtracks, attack on titan, re: zero, berserk and so on. but nothing has hit me as hard as the made in abyss soundtrack. NieR Automata has some really emotional music when you have context for the songs, but even NieR barely compares to how emotional and unique the made in abyss soundtrack is. I think i may have started watching this show at the right time in my life to experience the emotions it tries to make the audience feel, because i genuinely dont believe a show or game should be able to make me feel this way about it. i just love this series so much in a way thats hard to describe, and i feel like im not alone either. back to reading while i listen to this :D im ready for more emotional damage :D
Wow, thanks for the long comment! Made in Abyss is my second favorite too althought my first is Madoka Magica. But the soundtrack is easily the best ost ever. I will also add that another great thing about Ozen is that her japanese voice actress is Sayaka Ohara who voiced Beatrice in Umineko and shes super talented.

If there's a season 4, then it has better be as good as season 2 or else there won't be a season 5. Season 3 was hot garbage. It had a pretty good premise too, just piss poor execution.
If by season 2 you mean movie and season 3 season 2 then i kinda agree. Even tho there were some great things It had potential to be much better. But dont worry manga after season 2 is cooking

@@さんマリ i'm late as shit, but uhh... it's relatively hard. i'll attempt a few potential translations for what he's saying, he's sort of speaking in riddles and not super coherent (him singing out the sentences doesn't help his pronunciation either) "hvað sefur þú" would directly translate to > "what sleep you" although i'm fairly certain he's trying to say "where do you sleep" or something unless i'm hearing him wrong then he says "gildar borgini" which i feel like i'm hearing wrong so no clue what he's saying cuz it makes no sense "speigir undir varpa ljósið" > "the mirrors underneath shed light" then he says "oh me~ oh me~~ i don't feel" and i can't understand what he says next right after that, it's like mumble rap i don't feel like translating more, he's not really saying a whole lot of interesting shit, it sounds beautiful though
its the furthest thing from heaven if it werent for Riko being teamed up with 2 godlike combatants, a medical expert and truly yours riko herself being well informed about the abyss they wouldve ended up like the ganja suicide squad

The more i listen the more i realize whoever composed these is a genius, without this amazing score the anime would not be as impactful, not trying to downplay the story, its just that all these tracks evoke emotion in so many different ways that when paired with the story its simply a amazing experience.

Yes there's the emotional pain wich is a very strange pain to feel and everyone feels it differently but there's more
There're the musics wich you can hear on this video
There're the landscapes wich are...perfect. No other words describes it better
There're the characters who are cute, you can link to them easily
But most importantly, and it's something i found out recently, the anime WANTS you to feel the same feeling that ALL people in the anime/manga feels : the NEEDING to know more, to seek and resolve all the mysteries of the Abyss.
When you leave Made In Abyss you feel...incomplete. You WANT to go back, even if you cried, even if you have felt emotionnal pain. You care for the characters and you want them to resolve the mysteries because you can't go yourself.
I think that's why almost everyone who watched MiA would agree with that

i finished the anime around a week or two ago, and now i have volume 11 next to me because i didnt want to wait for more to get animated. after i finished the show, i found the entire soundtrack and ive been listening to all of it on repeat for days.
made in abyss went from an anime i heard about and was tempted to watch but didnt get around to it for a while, all the way to my 2nd favorite anime by the time i was done with it. i strongly debate whether or not i like re: zero more, as that would be my number 1, and recency bias may be playing a part in made in abyss being number 2, but i dont think that ranking will go down. made in abyss is legitimately one of my favorite pieces of art across all forms of it.
when i saw the first monster they dealt with (not the splitjaw but im blanking on its name), i wasnt super impressed because its art style felt really off compared to the rest of the show, but that was the only thing that even had a slight negative response from me. every single character that im aware of so far is absolutely amazing in their design. my favorite character is Ozen FOR SURE. she is such a badass character, looks awesome, her armor is perfect, shes super believable within that universe, and the way she was written was imo, the best they couldve done with the time she was present in the story.
and then we have the soundtrack.
holy fuck is the soundtrack the best soundtrack i think i may have ever heard. there are a lot of games and shows ive played and watched over the years, and i love a lot of different soundtracks ive heard, like the dark souls game's soundtracks, destiny soundtracks, NieR soundtracks, attack on titan, re: zero, berserk and so on. but nothing has hit me as hard as the made in abyss soundtrack. NieR Automata has some really emotional music when you have context for the songs, but even NieR barely compares to how emotional and unique the made in abyss soundtrack is.
I think i may have started watching this show at the right time in my life to experience the emotions it tries to make the audience feel, because i genuinely dont believe a show or game should be able to make me feel this way about it. i just love this series so much in a way thats hard to describe, and i feel like im not alone either.
back to reading while i listen to this :D im ready for more emotional damage :D

Made in Abyss is my second favorite too althought my first is Madoka Magica. But the soundtrack is easily the best ost ever.
I will also add that another great thing about Ozen is that her japanese voice actress is Sayaka Ohara who voiced Beatrice in Umineko and shes super talented.

If there's a season 4, then it has better be as good as season 2 or else there won't be a season 5. Season 3 was hot garbage. It had a pretty good premise too, just piss poor execution.
If by season 2 you mean movie and season 3 season 2 then i kinda agree. Even tho there were some great things It had potential to be much better.

"hvað sefur þú" would directly translate to > "what sleep you" although i'm fairly certain he's trying to say "where do you sleep" or something unless i'm hearing him wrong
then he says "gildar borgini" which i feel like i'm hearing wrong so no clue what he's saying cuz it makes no sense
"speigir undir varpa ljósið" > "the mirrors underneath shed light"
