- How to install skid plates, case saver and new chain plus a look at the paint on my front end and a Banshee update.
Raptor 700 Mods and Repairs, Skids, Case Saver, Chain and More!!!
Here I wash up the Raptor and have a look at the painted plastics to see if the 2 weeks of coal dirt left any damage. I then install a new XFR belly skid and swing arm skid, a TMDesignworks case saver and a Renthal R4 chain.

Pro tip, Those chain lock are much easier to remove and put on by sliding them on and off. Nice quad bro

Just some advice from a bunch of us braptor owners here in Kcmo, get a true case saver from DRW Performance, those case savers do not do anything! Still let's the chain wad up, and that's what breaks the case. All of us in our group learned the hard way!

That's TM designs skid plate looks like it's made really good I like how anywhere where there is a bolt going through to fasten it they reinforced it seems to be a really good product.👍

Tm case saver, complete cool head kit, o rings,studs,domes just for starters.
The only bad thing about skid plates is mud and dirt and rocks and leaves gets in between the motor and the skid plates and it’s hard to clean in between it,You need to get some skid plates on the control arms

in the Rear axle hub you have a hole 27:17 minute you put a long rod there, stick out the wheel and turn the wheel and the chain pulls

Instead of plugging the vent a my way of doing it is taking a plastic shop rite bag put it over the gas tank hole and then screw the cap on over the bag

You say "old crappy skid plate" but in reality? A poly rear plate that doesn't permanently bend is probably better than a metal one that can bend into the rear sprocket or disc. They'll keep you protected from impacts to an extent without worrying about the skid bending and getting stuck rubbing things.

Raptor is coming along nicely!! keen to buy one for the missus, with the Banshee is there a reason you’re not going to 68mm jugs? And make it a 421cc? Be a waste of a 4mil crank, you’d be better off getting a stock stroke crank with 68mm jugs slot of the power comes from porting/air flow..
Thanks man! As far as the banshee, I've been doing research and reading forums; from what ive read even a smaller bore 4mil build makes amazing power over stock. I'm not planning on an extended swing arm and from what I understand, even the way I plan to build it I will be either spinning or pulling the front end up the majority of the time.
You should really be using a legit master link rivet style for the riding and terrain that you ride in. Just my 2¢. Otherwise the quads coming along real nice bro
Are gonna power coat the raptor frame? Seems like you got some cancer forming on the bottom of the frame and some on the A arms. I planned to power coat my frame on my ktm quad.
Put some nerf bars on it too !!!

My grandson and I have 2ea 2022 Yamaha Raptor's 700r SE and are looking everywhere for a case saver that has a sprocket cover. We found the DRW one but don't like the color choice. What other case savers would you recommend?
This one from TM Designs was not bad but realistically, DRW almost always has the best design for protection. UPP sometimes has similar designs to DRW and offers great protection too. You can contact Weston at DRW and tell him I sent you; he may be able to make a case saver for you in a different color. I know he can do black and white but it's possible he can do others.

Just bought a raptor 660r nerf bars nerf bars did not line up with the footpeg V lie had to drill an extra hole and then my front don't reach needing some help with it I live out in Dawsonville and I'm all good ways away from any small engine repair
Mike have you gotten to ride with the skid plates yet? I put an XFR skid on my 06' Raptor and got interference with the reverse lever and one of the skid plate bolts.
How has the chain been? it looked so sticky I would think it would really hold dirty and junk

Hi, great videos! I want to ask you, how do you paint your pastics? My bike its staining with every ride, no matter how much I clean it after rides. Specially the engine, and It tooks me 2 hours to clean it good. How do you clean your bike so quickly? Thank you!

I cant find any skid plates , case savers anything for my 2021 Raptor 700R will 2015-2020 fit on my 2021?
I had a chance to buy one of these for 500 but I passed on it because the current owner bought it from someone else and it was completly tore down and he didn't know why.
Any issue with water, dirt, etc sitting in the skid plates and rusting out the frame ?

There is a check valve in your gas cap. If it leaks when you tip it up like that your cap is bad. Man it was painful watching you loosen and tighten the chain. There is a hole in the carrier housing for that exact task.
This is true. Sometimes I try to do things different ways in different videos so people can see more ways to get the job done. Channel locks worked fine this time around.
All I’m saying is the way you take off/put on the master link KILLS me. 😂🤣 but you did show me a different way I guess😂🤣😂 bend it all to hell.. I love the gold chain though I’m gunna get one for mine

Is it true that if you only replace one sprocket instead of front and back, it will wear out in no time. I’ve heard that you have to buy all new chain and sprockets at one time

Hey mike i just bought a 2007 raptor 700r special edition that seemed to be seized, didnt crank or roll in gear when I first got it home, the bike is extremely clean, its literally spotless, looks like a brand new bike, previous owner told me it has maybe 30 hours, so I removed the cap on the left side cover, and the spark plug, sprayed PB-blaster down the spark plug hole. and turned the engine over a few times with a ratchet, and got it to free up. So i put some new oil in it, a battery and fired right up. It sounds like a brand new bike, I rode it and it doesn't run funny or make weird noises ..really weird. Any suggestions what might of been wrong with it? It still starts right up and runs perfectly fine. Previous owner rode in pismo, possibly hydro-locked?. I'm kinda scared to fully open it up, I been just turning it on every few hours and letting it idle, and riding it slowly. Also forgot to mention he had a brand new 2 brother's exhaust and no airbox lid and didnt have it tuned, he gave me the stock exhuast and airbox lid so I put them back on before tryna ride it again.

27:02 that is not how to instal a master link. You have to slide it on inline with the chain. Can’t really explain it well here.
