I love how this starts out with really tuneful, quite melodic, fairly standard jazz, and it starts to unravel a bit , get freer, get weirder...and then here comes Eye.
@@arte0021 its less apparent here but if you look at a lot of yamataka eye's career hes absolutely a genius in terms of music. hes pretty experimental most of the time so you'd have to aclimate, like any new genre of music/art/culture/thing
Absolutely wonderful noise pron, moments of chaos and din where its hard to differentiate between them. Yeah, it resolves back into circular notes, and glossolalia, but the peaks are brilliant
A relaxing company offering time worn herbal relaxation products. Fuck you, .love FOREST and Zorn. Each to their own. Don"t blow YOUR smoke in my face.
I like to think I am open minded to a variety of art and music, but this is painful to listen to and I don't think most folks want music they have to suffer through. John may be an accomplished sax player, but he acts like he is mocking jazz music - really farting with his instrument? I just don't understand why some folks like this - it's noise and sound effects not music in my opinion. It hurts my ears to listen to this.
Robert Berdan This might help, instead of looking at this as a performance. Think about it as composed music for a horror movie, or at least that moment when a scene is building and begins to intensify. Honostly this isn't something i could jam on the train with my ipod, but i often enough come back to this as a sort of release. Everyone has some sort of pent up aggression so instead of actually following that feeling you create this. I am with you in the sense that this music is abstract but there IS a certain amount of talent and creativity needed to pull this off. Espeicially for a live performance. I hope this at least helps you view this through a different perspective.
Who cares what you think or how much your messily ears hurt, it is music and music can be loud, aggressive and abrasive as fuck! It's a fucking awesome Improvisation btw
I like the contrast between John looking like a suburban dad and Eye looking (and sounding) like a crazy homeless guy. Truly the greatest OTP.
this music is so far ahead of its time it still hasnt been done yet
I love how this starts out with really tuneful, quite melodic, fairly standard jazz, and it starts to unravel a bit , get freer, get weirder...and then here comes Eye.
Look at Zorn's circular breathing technique at 3:35 -- fucking unbelievable. Both are pure virtuosos.
how is the screaming weirdo a virtuoso? even i could do that
I'd love to see you try, fella

@@arte0021 this reminds me of homer simpson saying "jazz is easy, even i could do it"
wow, that’s a lot of talent in one room. that man is fantastic on the sax, and eye is just a legend, I mean just a genius.
I love how some people are like 'fuck yeah, that was amazing!' and others are like 'why is he farting through his mouth.'
I want him for my wedding!
You mean you want to marry him?
Aaaaaaaaaaa
I want him for my funeral!
John Zorn and Yamatsuka Eye.... 0_0
THey are so crazy and genial, love it!
Two legends.
eye and zorn! there's nothing better - thanks for putting this up!
john zorn's hair is the icing on his head.
I am amazed at how fucking genius this is. Seriously, both the sax and Eye's vocals match feelings perfectly
.
Joder los quiero mucho
Lirycs are amazing!!!
zorn is so awesome.. I love the way he works.
I’ve seen so many videos of John Zorn improvising and I still wonder, how does he get all those unique sounds out of his saxophone?
Suspiria 1977 - I think he was influenced by Anthony Braxton, whom he played with...
man I can’t wait to make good music
3:06 sounds like cow xD
Grande J. Z.
Domenico Iavazzo - Anche Y.E. non scherza!
This is the guy that should be playing for Aunty Entity in the Thunderdome.
In The Beginning John Zorn Sounded Good
Magnificent
This Is The Yoko Ono Guy.Back Then Still Sounds Like Balls.OH GOOD LORD.
Saying Eye is like Yoko Ono is crazy. Eye is the man that ran a bulldozer through a venue at his own show.
It is actually really hard to sing like that
@MrSimpleFuc Thanks.
❤
would like to see that piece with David Torn (probably with Polytown?) that seems to be preceding this...
Best avantgarde
Hell yeah.

Is Zorn wearing tzitzits?
Looks like it. His Jewish roots have been a great influence on his music making since the 90s.

@ska2808 eye
damn. maybe i should bust out my old alto...
what song is this?
Does anybody know which song this is or is it just a jam?
Oh, yes sorry. It's quite obviously improvised. If I might add in an extraordinary manner.
A little late, but the piece Zorn performs with Eye sounds a lot like "Sweat, Sperm + Blood" from Naked City's Heretic album.
Nice, thanks!
It sounds like 'Rectal Mucus' which they performed at the Knitting Factory in NY in 1990 at the NY-Tokyo Noisefest.
sax sound good the other guy was hilarious, wtf is this? how did I get here?
search hanatarash in yt, that's the other guy
@boogiebuddy01 maybe its beautiful in the same way than cigarette smoke is; you know it
It's just as crazy a habit, Jazz Cat...

I'm pretty sure he understands that he doesn't like it.

that guy ruined a lot of naked city songs -.-
Melvin Cieslar nope.
Luckily John Zorn didn’t create Naked City for you. Eye was the perfect vocalist for this genre-bending and chaotic group.
Eye was the only vocalist that was right for an album like Leng Tch'e
.
yeah john zorn was a real shitter lol -.-
So did Mick Harris.
