I wish you did a night drive with the Envision. The dash is really nice at night and it has ambient lighting on the dash and the doors that you can't see in daylight that is really nice. Also, at night when you get close to the car, it lights up to greet you and at the rear end, it projects a "Bat signal" light on the ground to show you where to place your foot for the hands free power lift gate function....really cool. I miss my Lesabre that I recently retired, but I'm loving my Envision.
There really no lag though. At first I drove it and the salesman said I had to wait until I had about 1000 miles on it bc the computer learns how you want it to drive. I was so happy with it that it really didn’t matter and I bought it. But he was right, about 1000 miles and it really started to have some more pick up and the pedal didn’t need to be pushed as hard. Long story short, it drives so smooth, quiet , and has a comfortable but sporty acceleration. I absolutely love this vehicle and best thing is you don’t see them everywhere and I get compliments constantly.
@@christhornycroft3686 I have a Envision and just like Unenthused said, once the computer learns your driving pattern, there is no lag. It is very quick and fast, not in a snap your head back way, but in a very refined way. You think you're doing about 40-45 and then look down and it's more like 70-75. I have driven quite a few nice high end cars over the past 45 years and I can say that this car is right at the top.
Buick builds their vehicles to go 300,000 miles without any major issues. My 2005 Century went 253,000 miles and no issues. Thank you Joe for reviewing the Envision.
The Avenir is mostly a luxury trim package for the interior. The Sport package, ST, on the Essence trim level is like a black optics package for the exterior. I wish they would allow to combine the two because I want the look of the ST exterior with the luxury of the Avenir interior.
The fact that I watched a review on a Buick all the way through is proof of one of two things; #1- I'm really old, or #2; Buick is making cars someone in this country might actually want. Thanks Joe!
We went from 5 years with Mercedes to GM. We leased a 2019 Cadillac XT4 AWD sport pre pandemic. It was fully loaded with every option. The lease ended last month. We ended up leasing a 2022 Envision AWD Avenir. It was over 5k less MSRP. This car blows the XT4 out of the water with the interior. Ours has the rear mirror camera and a off-road mode and the armrest is comfortable. The weird this once you spend time in this car you will never want to drive anything without the infotainment angled at the driver. Great car at a great price.
Hi, May I ask how the vehicle has performed for you this past year? any issues to note? I am considering this vehicle and trying to research as much as I can about it before anything.
This is a great value vehicle that looks great. I hope that it is enough to bring Buick back into popularity in the US. People are sleeping on Buick here!! (Always have been a Buick fan boy for some reason)
Wow this compact SUV from Buick is looking sweet! The body style looks similar to some porche SUVs, especially from the back. The interior is beautiful. Buick did a good job with this new 2021.
What a beautiful dashboard design. Great work Buick. I will be heading down to my local Buick dealer for my Envision. Look at that thick leather steering wheel. Awesome suv.
I love it!!! I wish they would bring back the regal though. I test drove a 2020 regal and absolutely loved it. I didn’t buy it that day because I wanted to look around. Didn’t drive anything else that made me fall in love like the regal did. Went back to my dealership and it was gone. There wasn’t anymore left on the lot or in the surrounding area. I was disappointed. Buick’s are great vehicles. I will be test driving this envision because it looks amazing!!! I am 28 by the way. I don’t think Buick’s are “Old people” vehicles anymore!
Great review as usual, Joe. Really nice car even with the fake exhaust. The camera work was really good and seeing the road from the drivers point of view is a great angle. It's easy to like a premium/luxury car with every option. Especially if it's good looking inside and out.
I owned 2 Acuras right now and one of those vehicles is an MDX. I saw a Buick Avenir at a store parking lot and I was stunned that it was a Buick. I never ever in my mind would ever consider buying a Buick. I might just go get of these used vehicle one day. I like this Avenir! Good video.
I remember my dad had a 1975 Buick Electra 225 with a 455 V8. It floated slabs like you were on cloud, had plush velour interior and had so much low end torque it would burn the back tires to the rim of you wanted. The car had very nice large steel bumpers and you could get replacement head lights at the local auto parts for under $20. He picked it up used, couple of years old and maybe 20,000 miles on it for less than $3,000. 46 years between that model and this one and honestly, I'd take the old one. You will never see an Avenir in a demolition derby.
It looks great and Buick is clearly on another level design wise. People keep asking me if I think they should look at Buick as an option - because they have an impression that its an old brand but I disagree. You highlight that Buick thought of just about everything. Thanks for another awesome video on the Avenir. I hope to test one soon. Can't wait for the next one.
Buick has a history of building luxurious, dependable transportation. Often marketed to the 50+ crowd, it has surprised us with performance stunners like the Grand National, the GSX, but also the slick, chrome obsessed Roadmaster, the classic Special (as seen in the intro to Highway Patrol, 50s TV Show) and my favorite the fabulous 1959 Electra. Sadly, 80% of their cars are now sold in China. Here, its sales are iffy.
There was 20 videos before this one on the recommendation list but I know you never disappoint with you reviews my man!!! Very entertaining👍...finally something kinda cool from buick
I have a 17 Envision. And yes the stitching on the dash makes a bigger statement. And there's blue led lights there with a soft center console. Not sure why they skimped there. Its my first buick. My 12th car though, but I Iove it.
I have never seen Buick 14:05 as a luxury brand. They are more of a premium brand; sitting in the middle of Chevy and Cadillac, so I feel they did just enough styling (fits and finishes) just to maintain a premium upscale look without alienating those looking in a certain price range.

Really nice redesign by Buick. Much nicer than the last model. Not crazy about the 2 front fake vents but overall looks great. Also not digging the blank buttons behind the wireless charger. This is the top trim, what is missing? Joe's only real complaint was the small back seat vents. Not bad.
Good looking SUV. Believe it or not Raiti alot of people don't like the Black wheels, it reminds me of the 70's when guy's took off the hubcaps and exposed the black steel wheels.

What I noticed with GM and others is that just because it’s the top of the line model, it doesn’t mean it has every option. I am looking at one that’s AWD and the MSRP is $47k. Looking at the options it comes with rear camera mirror. I guess they market these vehicles and packages depending on market it being delivered to. Know what you want and research before buying. That’s crazy! On my GX they’re real and it really cuts down on some road noise. When we had icing and the driver side got stopped up you could really notice the difference between the look of the vent and actually having functionality with the air scoops in the front.
That front armrest is made more sturdy probably because it is one of the first interior parts that worn out easy. I've seen " certified preowned " with low , low mileage and a worn out armrest , to me it depreciates the value of the vehicle. You know , i wonder why dealers don't replace them.
I think Buick has upped their luxury game, the exterior design of the Buick’s are stunning, and their interior is beautiful, Buick is doing an awesome job with their vehicles. Buick has a high percentage of young buyers. Great review Joe!
Well it's a nice vehicle overall, but they have some work to do yet. Fake front vents, and especially fake exhaust, shouldn't have a place with a luxury vehicle. I had never even heard of fake exhaust until I watched a few videos on this channel, haha. The logo could use some sort of upgrade, too, I agree. Something sportier. Anyway, thanks for another good review.
Hey Joey! Another great review, man. I really do dig this lil' Buick Envision. Great sense of style inside and out. Definitely feminine and a little girly, but I think that was intended and is actually kinda sweet. Like a little cheerleader from Catholic school when I was 14 or 15 ;). I dig it. :) JV Johnny
When I was a poor little kid, I remember walking to the grocery store with my mom and a neighbor and we walked passed the Buick dealership. I looked up at the Buick logo and thought that it must be a fancy brand with a logo like that.
Joe, this Buick review makes me really want to see you review a preowned Buick Regal GS Sportback. Imo, this was a very attractive 4 dr awd hatch that was equipped with the Camaro V6. It never got very solid reviews, and is still very rare, since it wasn't a strong seller. Would love to see what your opinion is after reviewing one.
I also recently asked for a 2018-2020 Regal GS review 🙂 I have 2018 GS and I enjoy it. I may consider the Envision Avenir with optional CDC shocks. Same CDC, platform, transmission and twin clutch awd system as the Regal GS. Not sure if the Avenir in this video was equipped with the optional CDC shocks but according to the owners manual the suspension gets firmer in sport mode. Looking forward to test drive one.

17:53 ON THROTTLE!!!!!!! It sounds really nice
Oh yeah!
Just bought a 2022 Envision Avenir, it does have the paddle for changing from the digital mirror to the normal. Just FYI.
That is so wonderful! Thanks for sharing that!
Does it have ambient lighting?
My grandmother owned a 84’ Buick skyhawk. I think the logo is fine but maybe its because I’m used to it.
It’s nice looking but I wish it had the V6. Kinda looks like an upscale Blazer. Thanks for the review Joe! Well done Lori! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Very good point about the engine.
When I was a poor little kid, I remember walking to the grocery store with my mom and a neighbor and we walked passed the Buick dealership. I looked up at the Buick logo and thought that it must be a fancy brand with a logo like that.
It is Scottish coat of arms.
Luxury ride enjoy your weekend joe
Joe, this Buick review makes me really want to see you review a preowned Buick Regal GS Sportback. Imo, this was a very attractive 4 dr awd hatch that was equipped with the Camaro V6. It never got very solid reviews, and is still very rare, since it wasn't a strong seller. Would love to see what your opinion is after reviewing one.
I would love to! I actually like those.

I do too, I was really surprised they didn't sell better.
That would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Awesome looking car, glad you're enjoying it. They are a real preowned bargain also.
