Buick is known for its smooth quiet ride. This car is quite similar to the Cadillac XT4 but a bit more reasonable with fewer lights and less chrome. I agree that the quality is there.

I bought the Essence, doesn’t have all of the features of the Avenir but it has all the features and safety items that you could need. I bought front wheel drive with the panoramic roof. Love the heated steering wheel, and the Apple car play. This car does have noise cancelling and has double laminated or insulated windows for an unbelievable quiet ride. This is also made on the Cadillac XT4 platform for 2021. By no means is this car any relation to the Chevy Equinox. This is a Beautiful Buick, welcome to the party.

Bob - just bought a 2021 Envision Preferred w/ Convenience Pkg & Sport Touring Pkg. Coming out of an Audi Q3. Don't really miss the sunroof (which the Audi had), love all the features that even the Preferred has. Do miss rain sensing wipers & adaptive cruise control. I'm OK w/the cloth seats since they are heated & so comfortable. And REGULAR fuel!!
      Happy camper 🙂

We own a 2021 envision essence and after a 957 mile road trip we ran a tank of 87 octane gas and a tank of 91 octane gas and my opinion is the 87 octane averaged 33.4 mph with 35.2 best during a 50 mile best performance on highway and 91 octane average 29.7 better performance but less mpg and take into consideration 87 octane average 2.88 per gal and 91 octane at 3.45 ouch that hurt. Awesome car love the ride very driver friendly

Hi Lauren, I had to go see what all the hooplah was about with the Envision Essence Sports package. The dealer told us the tech package isn't available right now because of the chip shortage. We test drove a black on black Essence the ride reminded me of a XT4 quiet, smooth, not fast. Rate it an 7.5 it's not the ride of our Corsair. BUT, the interior seats comfort I d rate a 10. Both front and back seats were very comfortable. Our Corsair seats are hard and stuff. This was plush and very comfortable. I felt the console material and the dash. Very firm yet soft to touch. The entire interior was a 9. Much more comfort than our Corsair. Me and my wife disagreed on the cargo space. I saw it the same size as our Corsair. My wife thought it was smaller. I kicked my foot out and Shazam the hatch opened. Liked that. We don't have that on our Corsair. The Sports Package has 20" wheels and an amazing sunroof. The curb appeal on this Envision gets a 9. Had this vehicle come equipped with heads up display and a garage door opener. My wife left it up to me to trade. This package didn't have stop/start tech. We came to a red light and I took my foot off the brake expecting the car to hold. The dealer told me it doesn't have the stop hold. Overall, I like the Envision Essence with the tech package. 8.5

Nice review! I test drove this car a few days ago. I really liked it but I can’t get past that it’s a Buick! I’m a young guy and still picture my grandpa in his Buick growing up lol. I know silly. But it looks and feels great. The incentives at the dealership make it an easy pick over the competition I’ve also have been looking at. I’m disappointed at the steering wheel, wish it was a bit thicker and I feel like most luxury and non-luxury brands include a lot more tech and features, like the panoramic sunroof at even the basic level. Obviously that comes at a higher price tag at the basic level. The Envision is right at the top of vehicles I want to purchase.

I agree with you and the price of the Envision fully equipped climbs well up over $40k already which prices it closer to higher end cars if they add too much stuff. It's a tough balancing act to stay below high end luxury and above bread and butter. I hope that they succeed, there is certainly a market for the new Buicks.

Hi Lauren Fix, Excellent Review, Why does both the 2022 Chevy Equinox and 2022 Buick Envision offer a 2.0 L Turbo engine, but the same engine is not currently going to be offered in the refreshed 2022 GMC Terrain? Also why aren’t all GM vehicles offering Surround View Camera systems? These three vehicle siblings can all reach the $40k price point, both the Equinox and Terrain do not have height adjustable upper shoulder safety belts? The volume selling vehicles in high to low are the Equinox, Terrain and then Envision. GM is missing out on sales by cheeping out on these vehicles, especially the GMC Terrain. Who can I contact at GMC about product? Keep up the fantastic work you do!

It's AWD, Panoramic Sun Roof/shade, nice soft leather in, heated steering wheel & seats, excellent lumbar, driver & passenger seats adjustable, infotainment system blends in the dash so nicely. The ride is amazing. So much better than a Buick. Out the door $38.5. If the Buick had everything on it like this Audi, it would have been $42k.

Seen GM un it's glory days and now, where it is more of a Chinese subsidiary than anything else.
Here, as with every auto that she reviews, Lauren is giving the positive and the negative aspects of the Envision. I was a Buick fan when their plastics got rubbery and cheap. But the rusting front sub frame member along with the rear parcel shelf members rusting out because of cheap metal due to cost cutting. And Buick's not so revered electronics back in the day, are no more reliable now with GM cars. My professional opinion stems from having to work on these Buicks. And so has Lauren. She knows. @@bobdavis3357 You make some good points. I think of the Envision as a lower end version of the Cadillac XT4 which is surprisingly similar, but admittedly haven't been following Chevrolet since I upgraded 50 or so years ago. I was always a Ford/Lincoln fan except that they don't make vehicles that interest me currently ever since their sedan line went bye bye. The reason I find Envision engaging is that I own one of the German made Regal Tour X's which was the only reasonably priced wagon available at the time, especially with the huge discounts dealers offered, unless you consider the Outback a better choice. I keep cars like this 15 years, so there is plenty of time to find out how well it holds up. I don't accept that GM cars were better back in the '50s or '60's as there was considerably more maintenance and repairs on all cars back then. I'm also probably not speaking for the majority of car owners. Just my opinion having owned Fords, GM's, and imports through the years.

Buick does not support the Envision with available parts in the U.S. We own one that was in an accident and we have been waiting on parts for 6 months with still no date on when (or if) the parts might arrive…. Meanwhile the car sits unusable at the body shop. The car is made in China, and GM doesn’t stock the parts. DON’T BUY THIS CAR!!!

I don’t understand why someone would buy a 2WD SUV. It’s like a 2WD truck or in the old days, a 2WD estate car. It’s a soccer mom/dad car. Because it’s a Buick, it should also be soft and comfortable, not sporty. There are smaller cars for that - or a Porsche SUV.

Nothing Buick is the best any longer, IMO, Lauren. The Lacrosse and REGAL GS were the last great American GM cars. Also the V6 Chevy Impala LT/LTZ Impala, the 2012-15 Malibu LT 2.0T, and the Camaro, Vette. A nd, the Silverado with all of it's recalls. My issue with the Envision is that it's really a Glorified Chevy Equinox. And their fuel capacity is way too small.

but, this is another General Mess miss. just a Chevy with a fancier interior. much better vehicles available from Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, and even Nissan.
p.s. if you are in Buffalo, Vampire State , you have much bigger financial problems than what vehicle you drive, instead of being in Florida . 🤔😉😂🤣😉

Another crowded segment, the Buick Envision went home with the award in the Compact SUV category. The model received highest marks in all ratings except for features & accessories quality - mechanical and design. Still, it holds bragging rights over the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Equinox, Jeep Cherokee, Nissan Rogue, Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, Jeep Wrangler, Volkswagen Tiguan, Mitsubishi Outlander, Subaru Forester, and GMC Terrain.
