    Glad you had a good time. I grew up in Horatio and basically lived on Little River. Beautiful country and amazing people!

    The advanced course. Half that river is widow makers.

    Do these jet motors break a lot having this much fun, or are they comparable to a prop motor in upkeep and maintenance?

    • @DennisBohannan
      @DennisBohannan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they are pretty simple. Just got to grease the bearing.

    How well would a jet work with a deep V?

    Do those tunnel hulls and floatation pods help any with that type of boat?

    • @DennisBohannan
      @DennisBohannan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so. Maybe add some protection to your intake but kill speed and lift.

      @@DennisBohannan Thk u, Yeah, I was just looking through your other videos and saw the Texas jet boats, with a 40hp on the back, that is a very well designed boat, love the thick hull, I’ve been looking lately myself at stick steer style boats, but tiller would be fine as well. Thanks for sharing and pleasantly replying ✊🏻💯

    Does the type of boat hull matter? Or doesn't matter as long as it's aluminum?

    • @DennisBohannan
      @DennisBohannan  ปีที่แล้ว

      It matters. You have different thickness of aluminum and different grade of aluminum. Those two play a roll and also how the manufacturer welds together and the structure they outlined place.

      @@DennisBohannan oh I see, I live in WI and WI river not only gets shallow but very rocky too. Will the average jet outboard like yours do just fine?

      Yes check out some of my other videos. Lots and lots of sand.

    What’s the info on that rig with the 115/80? Got a similar hull and just seeing how well that motor pushes a boat like that

      1860 with 3/16 custom hull. 39 40 mph on good days.

    Man you gotta stop posting these videos. It's going to wind up costing me a fortune. I do the same in Georgia on the Altamaha, Ocmulgee, Oconee, and Ogeechee Rivers. I had a Havoc with a 50 HP Tohatsu on it. Loved the boat, but had to downsize so I could have a boat small enough for the Ogeechee. Alweld 1442VV with a 20 HP Mercury. My wife just doesn't understand the concept of owning more than one boat. Great video, thanks for posting!

      Dennis Bohannan it seems most guys who have jets either prefer the Mercury while others like the Yamaha. #Guessing you like the Mercs more. Is that due to their tiller steering? Can you speak to your favorite and why? Thx!

    • @DennisBohannan
      @DennisBohannan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrIndyjoe in the 60/40 class Merc uses short shaft and large pump. Yamaha is long shaft medium pump. Tohatsu short shaft medium pump. The large pump is better especially at low speed. Top speeds on all motors are close. Merc does have the edge. I have recently spunt some time with the tohatsu amd really like the feel of it because hoe much smaller it feels. Amd comes in 30 pounds lighter. Feels much lighter than 30 pounds though. In my opinion the long shaft for a motor this size is just not an option. Need 27 inches for Yamaha 22-23 for tohatsu and merc
