This new lore makes it possible that the rabbit that blinded Longtail or the badgers that invaded ThunderClan's camp were faded dark forest warriors. This also opens the possibility for other things, like the fox kits Hollyleaf took care of being faded kittens, or Midnight being some sort of amalgamation. Whatever the case, I like this new lore. It opens the door for new interpretations of events. I just wish that for Bristlefrost, whenever she was around, Ivypool's fur started to bristle. It would've been a really cute comfort
I LOVE THIS POSSIBILITY, OMG LIKE REINCARNATION. That is so cool to think about since when squirrelstar died and she sent the sign to Alderheart by chasing a squirrel in front of him, it could be possible the dead cats found a way to enter the bodies of dead animals or something. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this.
Jay feathers stick housing aincent spirits that lived long ago before the clans?? Why do I feel like that stick was the ancient cats reincarnation in nature-
What I don't like about knowing this, is that probably the evil cats that faded away are experiencing something wonderful too.... I prefer to believe that they are living in a realm playing UNO eternally.
Maybe it’s based off they died. Whether they tried to live a good life. Like Hawkfrost wouldn’t deserve that suffering but someone like Brokenstar might. It could be maybe endless regret.
I mean, immediately after the great battle and a bunch of dark forest cats faded, there was a massive storm that flooded the lake territory. Maybe the faded evil cats were the reason?
But I don't think cats like Bristlefrost should be denied this just because the bad cats would experience this too. Maybe the Dark Forest is punishment enough, and then they can be part of the universe, but due to their morally corrupt personalities, if they haven't redeemed themselves, they won't truly be at peace/happy the way bris seemed to be
@@ccondelli Well, that's your interpretation. There really is no confirmation on what's the difference with good and bad cats. It's only explained what happens to them in general.
@danslyy Yeah, you're right, it's more of a headcanon. But personally I'd prefer this happening to all cats than having the good cats like Bris go away forever, and just... not existing in any capacity.
For me if you are dead and killed off again or you’re killed in the dark forest, you’re permanently faded, but being forgotten means you can still come back since you weren’t double killed. IDK seems straight forward to me. Also I remember reading in a guide they remember Gray Wing as “Graywing the Wise.”
I've never liked the idea of cats fading when they're forgotten, it's always seemed cruel to me. So I'm actually very happy they're turning back on it recently, or at least, finding ways to bring those forgotten cats back.
Yeah I'm so confused why on earth people at this point are somehow surprised that Starclan might've got something wrong???? How many times do we need to be smacked in the face with the fact that they're not all knowing and make mistakes in order to get that understanding??
4:25 Ok ok headcanon: Bristlefrost, through her spirit powers, placed the image of her and Rootspring and their kits together in his head as she was fading, that's why Root could only see that when trying to call her spirit
Hopefully the Dark Forest cats have the same treatment. They are already so unbelievably screwed over; getting denied this last peace would be wildly cruel. Especially for cats like Snowtuft who don’t even remember what they did
Yeah, I feel like no one deserves eternal hell, and pain and suffering, just a bit of it, a price to pay if you will, the dark forest is the price, when a dark forest cat dies, the price has Ben paid, and I hope that the dark forest wariors also find a sort of "wonderful" peace aswell, no one deserves infinite cruelty, at some point you gotta be free of it, basically it's still a win win, if ur a good noble cat u go to star clan, and when u fade and ur forgotten, ur cat spirit is just recycled as a part of nature, and u can come back as a different animal or just see the world, if ur a dark forest cat or uve done smth bad, uve had ur fair share of misery, but in the end it comes to peace, so I find it fair if dark forest cats could also be apart of nature, the question is, do these wariors that are apart of nature, interact with each other? Or atleast aknowledge eachothers existence?
All of the plot holes are annoying, but the thing with Bristlefrost is honestly really beautiful. I definitely want to read this book now, just for that specifically.
I posted a comment about this recently, but it's probably been buried. A lot of the plot holes are easily debunked: 1. Even though existing as a part of nature is wonderful, the whole point of bringing StormClan back is to restore lost history that is implied to help save RiverClan and the other Clans. (I haven't read Star yet, so no spoilers please!) 2. The ghost cats were haunting the Thunderpath because there must be someone still remembering them somewhere. 3. Galestar remembers because she exists in a different afterlife with the wildcats, who also remember. Just because one afterlife remembers doesn't mean that all the others do. 4. The stream is only accessible by the wildcats. It's stated in the book that the river isn't something that can be accessed from most of the other afterlives. 5. Stripestar and the other StormClan cats weren't killed as spirits. They were forgotten. Bristlefrost wasn't forgotten; her spirit died. That's why her spirit couldn't return. 6. Dawn of the Clans cats are still in StarClan because, since they were the first settlers, they would have gone down in history and be passed on through various legends. 7. Just because the Ancients could do something doesn't mean that StormClan has that ability. Besides, there was no time-traveling medicine cat to help them.
That being said I think one thing people miss about this whole plotpoint is that no, the second-death characters are NOT BACK. They are not alive or conscious in any way. The entire idea of Brostlefrost still being around is a play on the idea of "energy cannot be created or destroyed, only reused". The universe has a set amount of resources, it is physically impossible for whatever made BristleFrost to not exist anymore. Shes in something else now. That does not mean she is alive, or that her spirit is around - just that she is something else.
Your right about that for sure, however it does seem like if one is remembered strongly enough, their disintegrated soul molecules rejoin to make the spirit whole again , as seen with Storm clan. A mix between science and spiritual belief coexists here.
Just imagine this if bristlefrost WAS actually resused as a reincarnation of a deer instead of a warior: she was born as a deer, she looks like bristlefrost, and has the same feature as her, the "calming gaze" but the deer can't talk, and isn't really bristlefrost in a way, but its "wonderful" being apart of nature because deer have it easy in warior cats, after all, cats don't hunt deer, foxes are no threat since most deer are always together, but they could still take down a deer, same would go for badgers, but so what? Ud get to see more and learn more about nature, so what if ur reincarnation animal dies? You could just get recycled again into another similar animal, like a fox next time, an continue to live ur life as "part of nature" I actually like this theory-
I also didn't like a lot of the supposed "plot holes" Akira pointed out. I addressed them in a comment that's probably buried, so I'll put them here: 1. 3. Just because the Ancients could do something doesn't mean that StormClan has that ability. Besides, there was no time-traveling medicine cat to help them.
I think Gray Wing is remembered because he came up with the "Clan" thing, so when, for example, Riverclan is a thing, River for Riverstar anf Clan for Gray Wing
I don't know if it's worth commenting since this video came out two months ago, but I can debunk a lot of Bright Guardian Akira's supposed "plot holes." 1. 3. Just because the Ancients could do something doesn't mean that StormClan has that ability. Besides, there was no time-traveling medicine cat to help them.
I think that maybe the reason why Bristlefrost can't 'come back' through being remembered like the Stormclan cats did is that, maybe, a living cat dying in a spirit realm keeps their spirit from being able to coalesce like they can in StarClan, the Tribe of Endless Hunting, the Dark Forest, etc. Like the Sisters said, they're still *there*, they just can't...pull themselves together again. Which is how I'm interpretting the natural fading too. Like yes, a StarClan cat could just keep themselves going by appearing in dreams and Leader ceremonies indefinitely. But if there's anything other literature about immortal beings that were previously mortal has taught me, it's that eventually they would get tired. So at that point, maybe they stop showing up in dreams. They don't go to ceremonies. They choose to fade away, but it's more just like they stop solidifying as a distinct individual. I think this patches up at least a few of those plot holes.
I do like that the way they changed the lore was by interacting and learning from another culture of cats, similar to how humans change their beliefs or worldview in real life
Im gonna try to explain some of the plot holes you mentioned: 1. The point of unfading the cats was probably like bringing skyclan back, forgetting history is never good and in cases like skyclan can lead to disastrous effects. This might also be explained more in the next SE. 2. I assumed the random cats weren’t part of the clans just rogues and loners. Rootspring has seen other spirits before, I remember he saw a random female cat in tbc 3. Galestar could still remember either cause she was actually part of the history and/or she was in the wildcats afterlife, therefore giving different rules 4. Galestar specifically said in the book starclan cats can’t access the stream. Even I was like “how did ashfur do what he did” as I was reading but the authors seemed to have remembered for once 5. Could potentially be explained in the next SE but at least with the villains it could simply be because they are bad and since they don’t “deserve” to come back they won’t 6. The clan founders are literally part of the clans lore so I highly doubt they will ever be truly forgotten 7. We can assume the ancients and Stormclan work by different rules and maybe not having reincarnation a part of it also applies 8. We learned in squirrelflights hope that starclan sending messages and omens to the living cats is very difficult so maybe being in dreams is difficult to do as well. For all we know Bristlefrost being part of the world now helped give her the ability/strength to do the dream thing
Hol up The black waters in the Dark Forest were part of the spirit stream! They were rising because of Ashfur's meddling in the afterlives and his separating StarClan from the Dark Forest. That's why it has such strange properties and why Bristlefrost's double dead spirit is still able to clearly manipulate the world more than what seems like other faded spirits could. Ashfur didn't know about the spirit river so he couldn't control it or cross it and I'd assume the same goes to any other StarClan or Dark Forest cats since it's Wildcat knowledge. It's the spirit world full of fog and mist, it's not too crazy to assume a magical spirit river would stay hidden from those who don't believe in it.
I wonder if the reason cats like Tigerstar and Bristlefrost is that their fading was caused by death, not being forgotten. Double death might cause a different sort of fading from where forgotten fading.
some answers to your plotholes list at the start 1. I assume they need to unfade stormclan to get their help with something, idk what yet 2. the random ghosts don't operate on starclan logic because they aren't clan cats, i assume they havn't faded because they don't want to yet 3. galestar remembered stormclan but wasn't a part of starclan, her memories bought them back only after she went to starclan grounds 4. the wildcats *very explicitly* explain that only they even know about the stream connecting different spirit grounds, so thats why they couldn't use that it in the broken code Stripestar returning when bristlefrost can't is arguable on being a plothole or not, we're kinda forced to accept at face value that the void water in the dark forest is just special and unique like that.
it is explicit that killed cats are perma-faded forever and forgotten cats aren't, in fact being perma-killed in afterlife was a new thing in oots for starclan itself
The goal of the quest was not to unfade Stormclan. Galestar has a line literally stating that she wishes to repay the debt of being her and her kits being saved by saving the wildcats and their kits in captivity and send the dream to get cats who can help with that. The parts of the dream mentioning the destruction of the clan are from something else, but also are not about unfading Stormclan, its about information which they believe will help save the clans in ASC. Also, it seemed pretty obvious the whole Bristlefrost speaking is not actually Bristlefrost. Ivypool has dreams of Bristlefrost trapped in the dark forest on an island among plenty of other traumatic thoughts on her and Rootspring shares similar traumatic dreams. Both of these are debunked as simply dreams/nightmares. Bristlefrost appearing to them is not her spirit showing up, its them moving on from the trauma of her death. Its a slightly fantastical exaggeration of extremely effective therapy method for getting through grief where you go through an imaginary conversation with the person you lost in order to help heal.
This is great! Bristlefrost is one of my favorites, and I'm glad to see that she is not forgotten like other characters that have died and are really popular. Bluestar, for example, I don't really see her much anymore (but this is probably because of Firestar) etc.
Considering this year is turning out to be another 2016 in terms of celebrity deaths on top of everything in my personal life (we lost my brother, plus two cats this year), I'd say this message about the departed living on in memory and nature is precious and timely. Once more, RIP Akira Toriyama, Rachael Lillis, and now Maggie Smith; you've all been immortalized through your great work and you all need to know that.
I love how they changed the afterlife lore. The "river of spirits" closely resembles my own beliefs, with some differences of course, so it was really comforting to read.
Now I must defend the writers by giving ideas on how to fix it: 6:50 Gray wing and his kits named the clans, 5:43 StormClan is forget cause not enough cats remember it, 5:54 they probably didn’t know about the river before or during the broken code they probably found it to make sure that something like the broken code didn’t happen again. I will add more but for now I will leave the others unanswered.
5:57 Well Galestar did mention that only the ancestors of the Wildcats have figured out how to navigate the river over many generations. So it makes sense that the cats of StarClan wouldn’t be able to use it to access the living. I’m not even sure that StarClan cats know about the river. Maybe Ashfur was on the outskirts of StarClan and found the river. Maybe the river is what gave him his power? On another note, 6:49 in Tallstar’s Revenge Sandgorse explains why the tunnels are so important by telling the story of Shattered Ice (A DotC cat). Shattered Ice was credited as the first cat to tunnel through the rabbit warrens. While he eventually became a founder of RiverClan, he lives on through these legends. Yes his story has been altered throughout the years and now describe him as a WindClan warrior despite leaving Tall Shadow’s group before WindClan was found, but he is still remembered. Tallstar even recalls that The Legend of Shattered Ice was one of the first nursery stories that Palebird had told him. So if this obscure character is remembered, who’s to say that others aren’t also remembered through myths and legends. I mean we don’t actually know a lot of the legends of Warriors and Ivypool seemed SUPER excited to meet Thunderstar so she must have heard his story somewhat.
I really enjoyed what they did and it was so good. I never liked the idea forgotten cats were simply gone forever. Its a good thing if cats in the dark forest, but starclan? I liked that all of the afterlives are connected somehow. Even if they didn't know it. This was my favorite super edition so far. You didn't talk about Beetlewhisker. I think we all did, he died in the dark forest and is also gone forever. As long as others who lost their lives there.
The wildcat ancestors talk about how Starclan doesn't know much or anything about the other spirit worlds. The Wildcats only gained this knowledge for existing longer than the clans have. So there was no way of Starclan knowing about the River of Spirits
They established cats fading in po3 and lots so there's technically no recon, it's more like about expansion that we only get to see because we step outside the Clans for more than five minutes.
I think if they had taken away the dream where Bristlefrost literally says ‘I’m here’ or at least the fact that Rootspring had it too, it would have been fine. There would have always been a vagueness of whether Bristlefrost’s spirit is actually around or if what Ivypool interprets as evidence of Bristlefrost around her is just things that remind Ivypool of her.
I HIGHLY disagree that the new lore "breaks" or disrupts any previous lore (the exception being the Dark Forest location, that's a bit wacky). Sooooo much of StarClan and the kitty cat afterlife hasn't been touched upon or explained, you can't break something that isn't there in the first place. ESPECIALLY since it's been more than well established by now that StarClan clans are NOT all knowing or without flaw. It's actually so frustrating seeing the team get criticism that's just not founded in reality. 1) They didn't change the entire lore of the series on the spot. Expanding on something isn't "changing" the foundation like you imply. 2) They didn't break lore by having the Ivypool - Bristlefrost dream. The dream doesn't imply that "Bristlefrost's individual spirit is now fully returned as if the dark forest stuff never happened!" just as living cats dreaming of StarClan cats doesn't imply that "Oh the cat is actually alive and not dead!!". 3) Memory of things long ago is passed or not passed down not based on any set of rules. Those "randoms" could easily be "remembered" by modern cats through ways of nursery tales or silly jokes that just by happen stance was passed on until now. 4) Galestar is literally in a different "section" of the afterlife with the wildcats, it's easily believable that her memory of things isn't bound to the clan cats like it is for Starclan cats. 5) If no cat spirits have "died" in the living world and respawned, you can easily infer that that's a one of the few ways outside of being forgotten that leads to "fading". If this precedent isn't consistent in future writing then it'll be questionable. 6)Just wanna reiterate "No one could possibly have passed along their memory for that long" is just so utterly completely wrong?? We have so many cases of civilizations passing along information orally for centuries. 7) We don't know the rules for Starclan cats walking in cats dreams if there are ones. We don't know if that's an exploitable way to keep being remembered because we literally don't know the "mechanics" of dreamwalking for Starclan cats. 8) It's been one book with the wildcats being a known thing. Ivypool doesn't need to immediately start questioning the meaning of life and how the world works, especially in an emotionally heavy situation for her?? Unless some outside non character narration comes and says "The Wildcats have it all figured out!" we have no reason to believe they want us to view the Wildcats as 100% correct based off of the FIRST book that introduces them. 9) Bristlefrost appearing in the dream literally makes it more abstract?? You wanting them to adhere to simple concrete rules on spirits is the opposite of abstract.
I don't remember the exact quote said but I do remember the scene but I think it was tempest I mated with a kittypet called sweetums and sweetums got upset when I told him toms don't travel with us with no remorse so basically they mate with a random tom then tell said Tom sorry you'll never see me or your unborn kits again that's so messed up
I'm not sure but I believe in one of the main books one of the sisters said or that the very least implied that they tell the toms where there father is so that they may find them if they wish. And well what the sisters do to toms can be pretty cruel I also believe that we should give the sisters a little grace they turely believe that if a grown tom travels with them that something terrible will happen to the tom and them not to mention that they haven't been proven wrong yet so there fear is pretty understandable But what are the toms even doing? Having kits with a random she-cat that just showed up one day do they not ask them where they came from? Where they are going, what there doing here?. I know it's probably just the wc team not thinking that far ahead. But come even though the sisters should say this up front the sisters where also never even implied to lie to these toms. not to mention unless they have kits they don't stay anywhere very long, these toms not only didn't ask any important questions before having kits with them but they also have kits with them that at most 4 moons of knowing them.
That's fair thats what I get from their conversation from the sisters anyway but that has never been shown in the books with the sisters where a Tom causes bad luck not even in trees roots moonlight could have been lying to root I don't recall them ever saying that but I also could be misremembering to
Pausing at 4:37 to comment: Something about this feels off to me. I think it's that these details are being revealed to the living cats. Part of what made Starclan and The Dark Forest so interesting in early books is the mystery. How the clans didn't know alot. Especially the Warriors. But now Jayfeathrr know the Tribe is their ancestors, Ivy and Root know about the nature thing, Root and Tree know how to kinda summon spirits or find them The readers having more information is okay but immediately giving the living clans this knowledge feels... like too much I wish they could've written this book from the perspective of an already dead cat. Writing about experiencing becoming everything. To give us readers a higher knowledge without making the living clans' knowledge feel over powered.
The cats haunting the thunderpath don't all have to be from many years, if the corner is as deadly as they make it out to be, then it could easily be only cats that died from within the span of three years. Not to mention even "no ones" have family that can remember them for longer than a few months. Not to mention, we don't know how haunting works just yet. I mean Pebbleshine choose to not move on yet but still makes it to StarClan and Ashfoot didn't want to go just to look after Crowfeather and was able to achieve the same results. Rootspring and Tree seem to encounter a lot of kittypet ghosts so maybe it's just a part of their afterlife to linger as guardians and the mass haunting is the result of a mass of kittypets choosing to linger in their afterlife there.
Isn’t it that cats that are forgotten by their living group fade, but if they’re remembered by the living cats they unfade. Whereas if they *die* as spirits they’re scattered for good? A spirit who walked in the dreams of living cats to keep themself alive is… kinda just what mapleshade did, right?
Hey!! May I politely suggest reworking the title and thumbnail because this just appeared on my recommendations while I am in the middle of fishing Ivypool’s Heart and this could be a huge spoiler 😭 I’m avoiding actually watching the video or reading the other comments in fear of spoilers, so if I’m missing something please let me know!! 👍
I actually want to cry I'm only two chapters into the book and this popped up first thing in my feed and I'm lowkey devestated..I was so excited to see what happened in the book and this just shattered the biggest and most important mystery for me..
Unfading the StormClan cats: I feel like we'll possibility get an explanation as to why they are important in Star. Supposedly they or their memories might help RiverClan with their current issue. Thunder Path spirits: They may not be faded because they may have cats who still remember them that are alive. Family and friends and stuff. Galestar remembering StormClan: She was not a part of StarClan when they forgot about StormClan. It’s explained that if the living Clan cats forget some part of their history, then StarClan forgets as well. But Galestar was in the wildcat spirit world, not StarClan, so she didn’t forget. Plus some wildcats knew about StormClan's existence, though not the individual cats beside Galestar and her kits, so their descendants remember the stories Galestar told them about StormClan. Spirit Realm Stream: Ashfur clogging up the Moonpool was an issue because, supposedly, StarClan does not know of the stream and therefore did not know of another way to connect to the living cats. Of course, that raises the questions on how they moved with the other Clans during the Great Journey or how they were able to mingle with the Tribe of Endless Hunting when the Clans were staying with the Tribe briefly. Or how some cats like Feathertail can travel between the Tribe of Endless Hunting and StarClan freely while others can't. Fading: Bristlefrost was killed in the DF. So her spirit was killed, thus can't come back. Same with Tigerstar I, Hawkfrost, Brokenstar, Spottedleaf, Antpelt, and any other spirit who experienced a spirit death. Spirit death seems to make fading permanent, while just fading away naturally like Stripestar and StormClan isn't permanent if someone remembers them. As for the Dawn of the Clans cats, important cats like the first Clan leaders, the first medicine cats, and Gray Wing are remembered by living cats through their legends and stuff. Gray Wing in particular is remembered as a great strategist in WindClan as Graywing the Wise. I'm sure their life stories have been told by their respective Clans' elders to kits for generations, even though some of the more important details have been lost to time. That seems to be enough for them not to fade away. The Ancients: Jayfeather remembered them from his time as Jay's Wing. Thats how I assume they became unfaded. The Tribe cats may also have old stories and legends about the Ancestors as well that their elders tell. We don't know for certain because we don't know much about their everyday lives.
This reminds me a lot of what happens to Jedi after they die in Star Wars they become a part of the force both about the ideas that they are an abstract state of being and the fact that it's described as a positive experience The moral also reminds me of the poem do not stand at my grave and weep by Mary Elizabeth Frye
For everyone saying “What about the dark forest cats”, I personally Headcannon that they became the destructive elements of nature, such as fire, lightning, that sort. They’re nature spirits, but still are stuck in their rage and unable to escape and lashing out at the world like they did in life. I also think faded cats who tried to redeem themselves get to be “good” spirits too.
Thats a really good point, someone stated that they could have turned into animals that caused bad things to the clans. Like the rabbit that blinded Longtail or the badgers that attacked thunderclan. All the fox's and stuff attacking the clans and dogs, its their own way to get back at the clans
Does the super edition focus on Fernsong at all? He was Bristlefrost's dad after all (and raised her in the nursery). And what about Bristle's siblings? This book seems great but please don't tell me it focused ONLY on Rootspring and Ivypool...
This is, for the most part, a traveling book and Ivypool is the only POV. There is one cat from each clan in the traveling group. I hope we see soon more from Fernsong, Thriftear and Flipclaw. One of Spotfurs kittens is named Bristlepaw. Iam curious about her development but i also hope that she becomes "her own character".
A bit yes, but not a ton because of the traveling Mostly hes accepted his daughter is gone and isnt trying to get that fact caught up with distracting him from his life in the clans now
But those spirits by the Thunderpath were confirmed in the book to have NOT YET passed onto the after life. Say if these spirits were clan cats (they weren't its just an example) that would mean they had not yet passed onto StarClan. Therefor not faded spirits nor forgotton. Those spirits were not faded. They just had not passed on yet.
After reading the broken code, I was really keen on the idea of Bristlefrost's death and how it affected her loved ones because how it could be related to loss in real life. The afterlife and religion are based on faith rather than observation and experience and so even though through spiritualism grief can also be lived, it is not the same as fully knowing that an afterlife exists 100% such as in warrior cats. For that same reason, I don't like what's presented on this book by confirming that "no one's ever really gone" and they can fully manifest and speak as if they were alive. I think Ivypool's story would have fully benefited by not revealing all the mysteries at once and just hinting that this ideas and faith could be true rather than just fully confirming it. I would have loved to see an Ivypool pondering and finding a bit of healing on this new concepts rather than fully finding peace as grief is a process, that comes with changing emotions and coming to terms to keep going in this world without what is gone. I would loved to be able to releate more on this world rather than seeing it as farther away from our own reality.
Maybe after a while, a spirit gets tired and fades away, getting reincarnated as another cat. The Erin's are so close to saying reincarnation is canon, it might as well be.
I frickin knew it this is the second video in a row that I’ve said I knew it on I once made a whole rant abt bristle frost dying and that she shouldn’t have died I told you everyone
So, this means that all the Dark Forest cats can just… come back? I thought the whole idea of spirit death was that it was mysterious and permanent. If you can just drag spirits out of their second death, what’s stopping a second Dark Forest battle? I do not like this change at all.
The only spirits dragged out of their death were ones who had been "forgotten". Even though the dark forest cats are remembered, they will not come back because they died as spirits.
Bristlefrost wasn’t forgotten, she was killed in the black waters of the Dark Forest. Applying that logic means she shouldn’t be back, or at the very least Ashfur is able to return as well. Besides, when has a spirit being killed ever been considered any different from fading? Honestly, this is entirely on the writing team, taking an already messy book series and making it worse. Nice job Erins.
@@Aiden-wg4pu Bristlefrost wasn't actually brought back. Her spirit has been integrated into nature, as is what happens to those who have been offed twice. She can't actually interact with the world anymore like Starclan or Dark Forest cats can
@@HiHi-lt1cbexactly. I don’t really understand why people, and not just on this video, keep complaining bc “THE DARK FOREST CAN COME BACK”. Not to be mean. I just can’t handle it.
Bristle is back, I cried when she died so this makes me over joyed to have her back well in some way at least. I don’t give a dam if she isint in starclan I just hope she makes an appearance in the next arc
FINALLY FINISHED THIS BOOk and want to point out that if I remember correctly from twenty minutes ago, most afterlives can’t directly access the River of Spirits, and aren’t even aware of its existence. The wildcats (including Galestar) know of it and, with effort, can access it because the knowledge has been passed down for generations. StarClan cats have no access to it, so Ashfur’s plan was still effective. The Lore makes no sense I love it
I love this series for good and bad reasons. It is a great setup with great potential for future stories, past, esc. Cat clans, territories, generations passing, simple and sweet! I am also FASCINATED by the pros and cons of the stories. It gets shockingly COMPLICATED later on (seriously a cat spirit can now possess a dead leader's body what?!) but I still have a place in my heart for these books.
You know I am halfway through the book right now (the part where whistlepaw is stuck in the car.). But your title is so funny 🤣that I'm not even mad about the spoiler. It was also kind of obviously heading in this kind of direction. I look forward to returning to this vid when I have finshed the book.
Okay I should not have clicked on this having dropped out of reading warrior cats at the (3rd?) book of a starless clan but I NEED TO KNOW BECAUSE WHAT???
What in the Hollyfawn map is this transition to being nature to becoming a deer. Atp if this is really offical, the Erins are going to make Firestar a Blazing Star flower because he's quite literally everywhere and also...He is a star
This could be why Rock and the ancient cats believed they were closer to their ancestors. Especially if Rock in the tunnels felt they were part of the earth and nature. Also why some ancients had difficulty believing in anything spiritual as their was a much more abstract idea. Starclan seem just like the ghosts. spirits that simply cannot move on and still wish to keep their paws grounded in clan life.
Hey Akira! Can you make a remake of the order for reading warrior cats again from 3 years ago? This is my first year, so I’m kind of new. But I’m worried if the order might be a bit outdated. So if you could it would be nice to have a remake ^^
You know, the vision Bristlefrost had as she died in the lake could be a hint, like what if a cat is born with the ability to swim in the lake and could pull Bristlefrost out, the dark forest lake could possibly cause suspended animation, keeping Bristlefrost alive and letting her roam as a Spirit!
Midnight is out of the question since she and Rock are ancient spirits.
Omg youre right, that is really interesting to think about
I LOVE THIS POSSIBILITY, OMG LIKE REINCARNATION. That is so cool to think about since when squirrelstar died and she sent the sign to Alderheart by chasing a squirrel in front of him, it could be possible the dead cats found a way to enter the bodies of dead animals or something. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this.
@@SatoruGojoOfficial YES YES YES!!!! THIS IS AMAZING!
Graywing... yes, that is what they called me. Graywing the wise.
I am Whitewing the Wise.
yeah being killed seems like a mortal wound where even your spiritual body is destroyed, but fading is just like turning invisible.

Maybe the starclan cats don’t really know what happens after they fade so they think starclan is the ultimate paradise and assume that fading is bad

This is practically canon.
AHH that's so sad but I love it
Hopefully the Dark Forest cats have the same treatment. They are already so unbelievably screwed over; getting denied this last peace would be wildly cruel. Especially for cats like Snowtuft who don’t even remember what they did
I honestly agree so much
Yeah, I feel like no one deserves eternal hell, and pain and suffering, just a bit of it, a price to pay if you will, the dark forest is the price, when a dark forest cat dies, the price has Ben paid, and I hope that the dark forest wariors also find a sort of "wonderful" peace aswell, no one deserves infinite cruelty, at some point you gotta be free of it, basically it's still a win win, if ur a good noble cat u go to star clan, and when u fade and ur forgotten, ur cat spirit is just recycled as a part of nature, and u can come back as a different animal or just see the world, if ur a dark forest cat or uve done smth bad, uve had ur fair share of misery, but in the end it comes to peace, so I find it fair if dark forest cats could also be apart of nature, the question is, do these wariors that are apart of nature, interact with each other? Or atleast aknowledge eachothers existence?

All of the plot holes are annoying, but the thing with Bristlefrost is honestly really beautiful. I definitely want to read this book now, just for that specifically.
Literally random and unrelated to this video, but I've seen you on Tumblr before! Just followed 🫵
@@RoyalHare Woah cool :0 Thanks for the following!!
I posted a comment about this recently, but it's probably been buried. A lot of the plot holes are easily debunked:
1. Even though existing as a part of nature is wonderful, the whole point of bringing StormClan back is to restore lost history that is implied to help save RiverClan and the other Clans. (I haven't read Star yet, so no spoilers please!)
You could just get recycled again into another similar animal, like a fox next time, an continue to live ur life as "part of nature"
I actually like this theory-
I also didn't like a lot of the supposed "plot holes" Akira pointed out. I addressed them in a comment that's probably buried, so I'll put them here:

I have a friend who’s Oc believes in nature spirits, he’s so happy right now because his lore was basiclly canonized
I think Gray Wing is remembered because he came up with the "Clan" thing, so when, for example, Riverclan is a thing, River for Riverstar anf Clan for Gray Wing
I don't know if it's worth commenting since this video came out two months ago, but I can debunk a lot of Bright Guardian Akira's supposed "plot holes."
1. Even though existing as a part of nature is wonderful, the whole point of bringing StormClan back is to restore lost history that is implied to help save RiverClan and the other Clans. (I haven't read Star yet, so no spoilers please!)

Lets just head canon that all the despicable cats turn into worms.
Worm Tiger star the first 😅
It really is a beautiful way of describing the life and death life cycle. Very Lion King.
I miss Bristlefrost a lot.
I do like that the way they changed the lore was by interacting and learning from another culture of cats, similar to how humans change their beliefs or worldview in real life
imagine The Great Storm being brought up by some forgotten evil spirits
I wonder what ashfur is then, probably a pile of ash LOL
Or probably fire
What if Ashfur was lightning
Or a tree
Im gonna try to explain some of the plot holes you mentioned:
1. The point of unfading the cats was probably like bringing skyclan back, forgetting history is never good and in cases like skyclan can lead to disastrous effects. This might also be explained more in the next SE.
2. I assumed the random cats weren’t part of the clans just rogues and loners. Rootspring has seen other spirits before, I remember he saw a random female cat in tbc
3. Galestar could still remember either cause she was actually part of the history and/or she was in the wildcats afterlife, therefore giving different rules
4. Galestar specifically said in the book starclan cats can’t access the stream. Even I was like “how did ashfur do what he did” as I was reading but the authors seemed to have remembered for once
5. Could potentially be explained in the next SE but at least with the villains it could simply be because they are bad and since they don’t “deserve” to come back they won’t
6. The clan founders are literally part of the clans lore so I highly doubt they will ever be truly forgotten
7. We can assume the ancients and Stormclan work by different rules and maybe not having reincarnation a part of it also applies
8. We learned in squirrelflights hope that starclan sending messages and omens to the living cats is very difficult so maybe being in dreams is difficult to do as well. For all we know Bristlefrost being part of the world now helped give her the ability/strength to do the dream thing
Hol up
The black waters in the Dark Forest were part of the spirit stream!
Double death might cause a different sort of fading from where forgotten fading.

some answers to your plotholes list at the start
1. I assume they need to unfade stormclan to get their help with something, idk what yet
2. the random ghosts don't operate on starclan logic because they aren't clan cats, i assume they havn't faded because they don't want to yet
3. galestar remembered stormclan but wasn't a part of starclan, her memories bought them back only after she went to starclan grounds
4. the wildcats *very explicitly* explain that only they even know about the stream connecting different spirit grounds, so thats why they couldn't use that it in the broken code
Stripestar returning when bristlefrost can't is arguable on being a plothole or not, we're kinda forced to accept at face value that the void water in the dark forest is just special and unique like that.
Thank you for hope bc I just bawled my eyes out over her
I havent been keeping up with the books but I saw this video and Im so thrilled that shes back!!
Gray Wing named the clans, therefore as long as those names are used then he is still remembered.
it is explicit that killed cats are perma-faded forever and forgotten cats aren't, in fact being perma-killed in afterlife was a new thing in oots for starclan itself
Bristlefrost wasn't literally the deer.
Just because the deer reminds Ivypool of her, doesnt mean she's literally the deer
I’m pretty sure the point of that scene was to TELL US that she was the deer.
she is the deer
if she's not the deer it's so heavily implied she is that it's bad writing
Considering this year is turning out to be another 2016 in terms of celebrity deaths on top of everything in my personal life (we lost my brother, plus two cats this year), I'd say this message about the departed living on in memory and nature is precious and timely.
Once more, RIP Akira Toriyama, Rachael Lillis, and now Maggie Smith; you've all been immortalized through your great work and you all need to know that.
What
Now I have to rethink everything I knew about Warrior Cats
I love how they changed the afterlife lore. The "river of spirits" closely resembles my own beliefs, with some differences of course, so it was really comforting to read.
Now I must defend the writers by giving ideas on how to fix it: 6:50 Gray wing and his kits named the clans, 5:43 StormClan is forget cause not enough cats remember it, 5:54 they probably didn’t know about the river before or during the broken code they probably found it to make sure that something like the broken code didn’t happen again. I will add more but for now I will leave the others unanswered.
I'm honestly alright with that
2019: Somehow Palpatine returned
2024: Somehow Bristlefrost returned
8:35 THANKS GOD THAT IVYPOOL FINALLY SUPORTS DOVEWING....I HAD BEEN WAITING THIS FOR YEARS
The wildcat ancestors talk about how Starclan doesn't know much or anything about the other spirit worlds. The Wildcats only gained this knowledge for existing longer than the clans have. So there was no way of Starclan knowing about the River of Spirits
when i saw the title I almost broke my keyboard. Honestly i am still grieving herr
Before this book I would cry myself to sleep thinking I could never see her again 😭
And well what the sisters do to toms can be pretty cruel I also believe that we should give the sisters a little grace they turely believe that if a grown tom travels with them that something terrible will happen to the tom and them not to mention that they haven't been proven wrong yet so there fear is pretty understandable
But what are the toms even doing? Having kits with a random she-cat that just showed up one day do they not ask them where they came from? Where they are going, what there doing here?. I know it's probably just the wc team not thinking that far ahead. But come even though the sisters should say this up front the sisters where also never even implied to lie to these toms. not to mention unless they have kits they don't stay anywhere very long, these toms not only didn't ask any important questions before having kits with them but they also have kits with them that at most 4 moons of knowing them.
That's fair thats what I get from their conversation from the sisters anyway but that has never been shown in the books with the sisters where a Tom causes bad luck not even in trees roots moonlight could have been lying to root I don't recall them ever saying that but I also could be misremembering to
I had a stroke reading this

Something about this feels off to me. I think it's that these details are being revealed to the living cats.
Part of what made Starclan and The Dark Forest so interesting in early books is the mystery. How the clans didn't know alot. Especially the Warriors. But now Jayfeathrr know the Tribe is their ancestors, Ivy and Root know about the nature thing, Root and Tree know how to kinda summon spirits or find them
The readers having more information is okay but immediately giving the living clans this knowledge feels... like too much
I wish they could've written this book from the perspective of an already dead cat. Writing about experiencing becoming everything.
To give us readers a higher knowledge without making the living clans' knowledge feel over powered.

Bristlefrost really said- I’m back baby
The writing team coping so hard about Bristlefrost that they will canon into existence.

GUYS WAKE UP!! LOOK WHO POSTED LIKE 18 MINUTES AGO
i remmber that part made me picture squirrelstar lying on the ground crying of stress while a bunch of vines and stuff twirled in the shape of hearts-
This reminds me a lot of what happens to Jedi after they die in Star Wars they become a part of the force both about the ideas that they are an abstract state of being and the fact that it's described as a positive experience The moral also reminds me of the poem do not stand at my grave and weep by Mary Elizabeth Frye
unrelated, but i genuinely thought the wildcats were lynxes(?!) when reading the super edition. lmao
Willowshine didn't die in the DF iirc, she was killed before and then her spirit was brought and trapped there
For everyone saying “What about the dark forest cats”, I personally Headcannon that they became the destructive elements of nature, such as fire, lightning, that sort. They’re nature spirits, but still are stuck in their rage and unable to escape and lashing out at the world like they did in life. I also think faded cats who tried to redeem themselves get to be “good” spirits too.
That’s so cool
Thats a really good point, someone stated that they could have turned into animals that caused bad things to the clans. Like the rabbit that blinded Longtail or the badgers that attacked thunderclan. All the fox's and stuff attacking the clans and dogs, its their own way to get back at the clans
@@SatoruGojoOfficial Its ✨Character development ✨
So does that mean that Spottedleaf is literally a spotted leaf now? (lol)
well said😂
Not again a Change in the lore 😔
MY GOSH 9 MINS!??? AHHH THAT IS EARLIEST I HAVE EVER BEEN TO YOUR VIDEOS OMG:0
A bit yes, but not a ton because of the traveling
Mostly hes accepted his daughter is gone and isnt trying to get that fact caught up with distracting him from his life in the clans now
Not really. It’s a traveling book, and Ivypool is the POV.
@@viral4983 she is not completely gone. I found that very comforting
Also I loved the vid. Keep up the good work!!
EVERYONE WAKE UP AKIRA POSTED
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
seeing the wildcats be drawn as something other then tigers is super jarring. they were in a zoo and described as "tabbies". sounds like tigers to me
Maybe after a while, a spirit gets tired and fades away, getting reincarnated as another cat.
@@Aiden-wg4puBristlefrost isn't actually back. The title is a bit misleading. She's just a part of nature now
@@Aiden-wg4pu Bristlefrost wasn't actually brought back.
I don’t give a dam if she isint in starclan I just hope she makes an appearance in the next arc
exactly... existing in some sort of ways is so much better than completely void
The Lore makes no sense I love it
Imagine that there is no deer, but there is Snow Leopard
sharptooth 2 kitty boogaloo
I love this series for good and bad reasons. It is a great setup with great potential for future stories, past, esc. Cat clans, territories, generations passing, simple and sweet! I am also FASCINATED by the pros and cons of the stories. It gets shockingly COMPLICATED later on (seriously a cat spirit can now possess a dead leader's body what?!) but I still have a place in my heart for these books.
BROOOO AKIRA IS BACK. With this book, I'm hoping that Spottedleaf and the spiritually dead villains from the Dark Forest will return :D
You know I am halfway through the book right now (the part where whistlepaw is stuck in the car.). But your title is so funny 🤣that I'm not even mad about the spoiler. It was also kind of obviously heading in this kind of direction. I look forward to returning to this vid when I have finshed the book.
HOLD UP... I CALLED IT. I FLIPPING CALLED IT?!?!?! I CALLED IT WHEN I WAS READING THAT SHE DIED!
Palpatine 🤝 Bristlefrost
*Somehow returned*
"Somehow x has returned" has to be the most ominous sentence you can say about a character.
Wouldn’t that mean ashfur is a nature spirit too? And tigerstar? And brokenstar?
snowtuft
Hawkfrost
Gonna be the one to mention spottedleaf
Does this mean that forgotten cats killed Mudclaw and Firestar? And the cats that died in the fire in the first series?
Okay I should not have clicked on this having dropped out of reading warrior cats at the (3rd?) book of a starless clan but I NEED TO KNOW BECAUSE WHAT???
What in the Hollyfawn map is this transition to being nature to becoming a deer. Atp if this is really offical, the Erins are going to make Firestar a Blazing Star flower because he's quite literally everywhere and also...He is a star
Video 3 asking akira to make an updated version to what order should I read the books
The most wholesome Cover for a video ever :3
Is no one gonna talk abt the world’s smallest violin reference at 8:32
