Sui generis means something of its own kind/ unique. He uses this term in the context of social reality that social reality is sui generis- reality exists a t Multiple levels like physical reality, biological reality, pyschological reality, social reality and each of these levels are distinct. Social reality comes in to being when individuals come together in a definite relation with one another such that a new level of reality emerges which is of a different order than the individuals comprising it. So social reality is sui generis and emergent in nature.

Really love how Indian "intellectual" class never read a single word about it's own culture and tradition from the book its originated from but know EVERYTHING about it just cuz they heard/read what some foreigner said/written. Ex- Varna Vyavastha. People should read what Varna Vyavastha really is before calling it something like "forced labour". Read your books. Know your REAL ideologies. Or else you'll always be the victim of self-loathing. Kuch samajh me aaya kya bol rha hu?
Why is DOL treated as a social fact? Based on ur 'ECGI' rule where ' I' means Independent but DOL creates functional interdependence. So it is contradictory. Kindly clear my doubt
