Some corrections. John Calvin's ideas were called Calvinism. *Some* (not all) protestants believed in Calvin's ideas and were called Calvinists. Calvinism's essential beliefs was that a select group of people were selected (predestined) to go to heaven. Weber's idea was that since those who believed in Calvninsm could not know if they were selected to go to heaven or not, they would need to work hard in this world to make themselves useful to society and also believe in simple living.
