Thanks your video helped me understand this. I need to buy new seals for my 1997 kx80. Was wondering why it was leaking little bits of oil and googled it and it led me here . Thanks
Thanks for the video, I guess the models are all a little different. Mine has 2 O ring seals that fit on the shaft before the sleeve goes on. Also, I tip my bike so no need to drain the oil.
Hey Mike : Very cool seal change technique. That is basically the same way that I changed at least 1000 of those type of seals on aircraft engines over my 30+ years as an aircraft mech. This information will save a lot of Bike owners at least $100 if they do it themselves. I wrecked the Busa man. I'm still nursing my left foot big toe that cushioned the fall of the bike. I put up a couple of Vids on my channel about it.
Hey Mike : I'm doing somewhat better now that the swelling has gone down on the foot. I wish I was still able to do Aircraft maintenance but some short term memory problems caused me to take my pension about 10 years earlier than planned. I feel like I'm semi retired because there are other things that I can do. It's just a matter of re-inventing myself instead of feeling sorry for myself.
I am far less wise than you I am sure, but what you said is something that I have discovered to be true; feeling sorry for yourself will get you nowhere but down. When life hands you the shit sandwich, you say yuuummm. I wish you a speedy recovery my friend.
Might be a dumb question but if I had a bad seal, would the sprocket have to be spinning in order to leak? I’ve whipped everything down and let the bike idle for a while and it’s dry as a whistle, do you think I’m good to go?
I ride a 1993 shaft driven Honda Shadow it's leaking from the slave cylinder a good amount of oil whenever I'm on the throttle any idea on how to fix this or any videos
Thanks for the info, guys. Great video. I'm looking for a copy of the workshop manual for the honda cb1 (125) 2017. Its cgx 125whf. I appreciate your assistance. Thanks

Jesus man, I hope you're alright. I didn't know you were an aircraft tech for 30 years; I think that's awesome! I'll check out your videos.

Hey Mike : Thank You Brother.
When you put the stator cover back do you have to replace a gasket for it?
Hahaha dude when you threw the parts on the counter I lolled
Replacing one for the banshee is this pretty
Much the same process ?
Thanks for very useful video.
The heavy metal rock music is tolerable as an intro,
but please leave it out during your commentary.
Damn, I should’ve done the screw thing to take off the seal. It took forever to take mine off
Almost to 1000, mike!!
