    There is nothing else that I would ride.
    I built a 1972 tall frame Super Sport from the ground up and I have about $750 total in the project.
    Funny how everybody with Lightspeeds and Klein's beg me to ride my Schwinn. And they want to buy it. No dice.
    I built it because my 1973 and 1974 mean too much to me to take them from the house.
    You cannot beat a Chicago Schwinn. The Super Sport, Superior, and Sports Tourer were the chromemoly frames hand brazed. They are silky smooth.

      For sure the bikes are great! The bearings are such high quality. Its amazing how far you can coast on the older bikes compared to newer bikes.

    Cant wait to do this myself, got 3 Schwinns in the garage, 2 suburbans and a speedster, all from early 70s, just waiting for some nice weather.

    I have three 26" Typhoons, one 24" Typhoon, one 16" Sting Ray Jr. And one 16" Bantam.
    So far I plan on leave them all classic except for one 26" I plan on turning into a lowrider and the 24" will be a lowrider trike.

    I had a Schwinn 24" tire size bicycle when I was a kid..don't know what specific model but it was candy apple red color single speed and it was fast..at least to a 12 year old kid. Now I have a Schwinn Collegiate 5-speed road bike circa 1969 which a friend gave me about 15 years ago..still going strong it is my 'around town' bicycle. Also have a Schwinn 'Town and Country' adult tricycle with 3-speed rear hub circa 1970, which I inherited from my mother-in-law; found it up in the barn restored it to 'like new' and I get many comments about it . Also have a Schwinn 'Rocket' full-suspension mountain bike for my off-road riding. Some years ago I picked up a Schwinn 'Typhoon' identical to the one in the video; bought it at an auction for $20.00, cleaned it up a bit and gave it to my daughter. Just gave my lady friend a 'Le Tour Luxe' 12-speed road bike so her and I can go riding together. (that one I found at a lawn sale for $25.00 and they delivered it for me!) I find a Stingray 'Fastback' in good shape I'll just have to get it. Love those old Schwinns.

      That is awesome! Yeah the old bikes are fun for sure. Seems like the quality of the material was just better back then. The bearings in old hubs seem to just spin for ever. They will out roll any of my newer bikes for sure.Thanks for watching and dropping a comment. I appreciate it.

    I don’t understand that almost everybody likes these bikes but no one produces them... I mean if they remade these bike almost everyone would buy these

    • @htweelz
      @htweelz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They could remake them but it would be made in China and probably be really cheaply made. Plus that would make the original bikes less valuable and sought after. You would really have to look at an old bike to make sure that someone didn't take a new one and make it old or put newer parts on an old bike.

      In the past, schwinn was like giant or specialized, they broke in 1990s
