As a Designer myself, I'd like to let you know that most good designers will totally ignore contests that are not Guaranteed. Because there are always contests that are Guaranteed so they'd rather do those instead. So many times people post contests and gather ideas and then get a refund and use one of the logos.
As a customer, I feel uneasy committing to pay for a design which I haven't seen yet. All the submissions could be bad, especially since the least expensive plans only include low-tier designers. >300 USD may not be much for some, but it's a considerable amount for me. I suppose you don't want to work for nothing and I don't want to pay for nothing. Maybe there could be a compromise of some kind.
In most cases when clients select a gold or platinum option in the end they select a simple, generic logo that will be able to get on bronze option ass well
It might not be so much about the complexity of the design, but about the quantity of good, quality options. You get a lot fewer designers participating with the bronze plan, and the design you get may not be of the caliber you'd get with the more expensive plans.
REtipster Hello, Seth! I always have my eye on you and your business! Excellent content, of course, and the business logos are looking pretty amazing! Hope your foray into the “Storage Wars” is going well. Seems like it could potentially be super~lucrative. Also seems like many “Moving Parts.” Read: Need to be flush with money!! Ha! Amazing video explanation, may I ask for the total fee, is that the $598 total that you paid? And if you know, is the designer get all $598, or that have any charge for the 99Designs platform? Thanks before Seth
Hi Birky. From what I recall, I believe that was all I paid... I'd have to go and look at my credit card bill to be sure though. And from what I know, I believe 99designs takes a cut of that amount, so no, it doesn't all go to the designer... but I would imagine most of it does.
@@lorempix4558 depends on complexity and size, then i agree to an extent. But most small business requirement is on the other end of the scale. considering a lot of these "designers" go to their stock library or already have pre made templates they work from as their base, for easy/small to medium designs, the price is outrageous imo It only needs one new player to come on to the scene to shake up the mafia. Not everyone has $$$ and is a large company . They will be surprised when they get wiped out by competition with more user friendly real world prices. Just saying "prices are ok because XY Z are higher" doesn't make them reasoable. It makes them the cheapest out of a market that needs shaking up.

I agree... And i'd like to watch the designers perspective of this video.

269 euro for a logo sounds a little too much
Depends on the business and risks involved.

@@lorempix4558 sorry, but the price is ridiculous, just teach yourself to use photoshop
@@ihatekillerclowns hello I'm graphic designer, and I said 269€ is not expensive price for a logo, there's a companies pay more than this price
