i am engi main and my 1st "build" (if you can call it that) was flammenwerfer , sadly i didnt name my character hans. go to the elven-like treehuggers and bring them industry! and ze flammenwerfer of course because they like trees so i dont XD

Man I knew that flamethrower part was coming, it was literally the reason I made an engineer character in the first place lol.

May not be the best, but it plays like a GW2 Mesmer. Chrono, spam wells on CD for buff uptime. Blades, spam CDs for Damage, Mirage, spam illusions, and finally an elite to replace mass invis.

I have a funny little story about the whole Necro "this blob is their friend" thing
When I first started the game was in german so I leveled in german and only swapped to English at lvl 80, throught my journey I thought the shadow fiend (Schattenunhold) was shadow dog (Schattenhund) and when I swapped to english at first I read shadow fRiend. So I called him "Bello" which led to me naming all my minions for example: The Flesh Golem's name is "Isaac" cause he's also just a naked crying child trying to find a place in the world.
I mean....inaccurate allegations!

Dont really have a name for Bone Fiend and Wurm because I rarely use them.

As a ranger main i died laughing at the canceling-axe5-to-dodge-aoe's part. It's just sooo true for me back in the days i played fractals and raids :D

You're right, us engineers are always there to correct people when they are wrong. It's a thankless job, seriously, no one ever thanks us.

There's 2 types of elems: you forgot the splashelem who hold onto their healer build, refusing to accept there's any other healer class that can compete (don't even mention "surpass") it. They started their journey 11 years ago, with just a staff and their F2 key, while the meta heal was gardian and are still there, with a staff _and a horn_ and twice the amount of F2 key, now that the meta heal builds are druid, mechanist or scourge.
I'm one of those proud elems that will never betray the true essence of splashing their comrades-in-arm. o7

Lets be real. All those mesmer portalling are usually not mains, but alts parked on X JP / minidungeon. That being said, they do spend alot of time on them porting people and we do indeed love them for it
as a guardian main who gets a do-gooder high off of hanging out in starting zones and giving new players bags / explaining controls to them.... yeah you got it lol. Gotta be bright and visible on the screen so they can see you for directions!

Ok, you nailed me as a necromancer lol. Funny enough I use Shadow Abyss on EVERY OTHER CLASS except my Necromancer for some reason!
Also, always tip your mesmer!
As a warrior main that loves hammer SPB I feel called out! Too bad I can't be bothered to level up a new main, now I'm going to go bonk something!
I mainly play Thief, and I can attest that forced movement animation locking ourselves to death is 100% accurate. We're very squishy so when we can't dodge it can be lethal.

I feel called out on the second part of the ranger.
I assimilate my pet, I devour its soul, and wear its flesh, only to slap that sweet opening and have 3x dps more than everyone else for the first 5 seconds, until I die and get outdps by the healer.
But totally worth it.
As a hunter I feel you are totally CORRECT, we love animals, big one small one skinny one, one that look.. dead? Ah, we don't talk about it, it is all good and pretty, now excuse me, I gotta throw my bear into the boss again
Jokes on you, I used to play Rev and listen to nightcore while zerging in WvW! And now I main guardian... On the biggest Charr possible... oh... Damn it Lara, get it of my head! :D
On another note, I would love to see a WvW-version of this topic. At least it looks like there are enough roamers bullying Lara lol
this was brilliant. I am recovering from a cold and when I got to Rev I laughed so hard I started coughing, and almost choked to death. 10/10 would almost die for Laranity vids again
Just some stats from the Mesmer front. Portaling 12h non stop grands you about 5g in tips. The average tip per player is about 3c. And yes, those infusions are nessesary otherwise the other players won't find the portal.
And just when I thought your videos couldn't get any better, you drop a total banger.

Second health bar almost launched me from my chair, that was amazing. ...The Soulbeast slander was triggering though tysm.
As a former necro main, I 100% agree on the dodge part. It was only when I found my second love (engineer) that I started dabbling in the art of the dodge. I mainly play scrapper though, so I still don't really dodge, because scrapper is tanky. But I do dabble.
As a Thief main I honestly can't imagine not dodging. Seriously, when I accidentally animation lock myself and can't dodge some power attack I just die. Hard to imagine things when you're dead.
I haven't played in over 2 years and out of curiosity, I typed GW2 into the TH-cam search bar. This video was at that top and was extremely entertaining to watch. I am now actually thinking about playing again. Sub'd for future content. Keep up the great work!
*Flamethrower + Stability* spoiled me so much as a new player that I barely learned how to dodge anything and cried after starting Heart of Thorns since I decided to go the chronological story order.

Those who play Holo and Mech, and those who want Scrapper and Core to be viable as DPS without kits.

As someone who has been playing a lot of necro, I can tell you were spot on. When I see someone get one-shot my first thought is usually "mmmhhh I think I can tank that with my 2 and a half massive health bars" :D

We guardians had our time close to the sun.
In fact, we had it for so long that the aura of times passed still irradiates everything around us in a 20 mlie radius, shining bright and scorching out every semblance of non-believe.
Also, guardians are still pretty good at basically everything.

When you started ranger I was like "ha! you got me wrong!" then you pulled out the tryhard Soulbeast and I was like "f*ck now she got me" lol.
I was an engineer main for years, but realized I was just the concept of the class but the fantasy that was in my head wasn't there in the game. Now I have grown to love the versatility of Hammer tempest.
This was great! Well done!
Now i want to see this, but about all of the elite specs, because they vary so much from the original theme and premise.

The part abt the warriors and them ignoring all the flashy stuff is too accurate … I sometimes even rant at the face of another shiny guardian that their gear seems to have been consuming a power compared to a small city … like chill guys , I wanna look at my monitor without squinting my eyes lmao

sorry busy being boring...... (aka the only actual unique class in the game because there arnt that many of us 😉) also she banned all of us because of HAMMER SPB?
I've been a Mesmer Main for 7 of the 8 years I've been playing and I don't really do Portals much but it's more to the point that I just cause enough Eye Damage to make any situation work by mashing AoE Skills with my Two-Hand Staff and occasionally switching to my Axe/Focus when I want to rip through a few Enemies.
Ele mains: Goes downstate in the first 20 seconds, then mist fog the moment you get rezzed
I made a Mesmer purely for others benefit - so I can show them what physical and magical perfection looks like. Also when he burps you see magical rainbow butterflies that burst into glitter as well. Fact.

The thief part is totally accurate. You mostly play pvp variations of the game because the class was made for it... even if you hate killing people (like me) you absolutely love the fact you can escape 5men party trying to catch you.
And yes i never volunteer to do mechanics. Firstly, thief is very squishy. Secondly, all your skills are forcefully slotted with damage abilities so you feel like you came into instanced content on a wheelchair. Of course you want as few responsibilities as possible in such a condition. 100% accurate.
Also... dagger 3 please don't throw me into oneshot or off the cliff... any of them... there's so many... :( i swear i'll touch you gently and only for a reason, just please please please be kind

Fun! I swapped from soulbeast to dps druid so I wouldn't have to worry about axe 5. There where a few other reasons as well, but those where less important.

1) Not at all how I play my ranger main. I play soulbeast so I don’t have to send my pet friend into battle, and still range from afar.

as a guardian main i absolutely agree that we love to be ott flashy. me personally i love the convenience of DH being the easiest class ever. stand on any mob, drop every aoe i have, and extra stuff like pulls and leaps if needed. we love living the easy life.
As an ele main since beta 2012 myself i truly miss the good old times when dying was part of the meta because of that tiny fire fountain (FIRE!) we could do back then XD funny video and so true, all of them :D

Yes, i play necromancer cause its edgy, and full of death and decay, and has evil dark magic... and because second health bar.
But i also like the signet of undeath, and like how easy it is to help revive players when theyre in dangerous areas.
My mindset is entirely "I am the lord of death, and you dont get to die until I say you get to die."
That and i like ghosts
