    I love the Reno area but not missing the snow and cold living in the Philippines. Stay safe out there!

    Its very sad you can see how bad a storm will be days before it gets here and especially the day of and people especially truck drivers still try to get through i sit and wait there have been so many pileups this year just to mention i am a truck driver and yes I am waiting in a truck stop for this to clear

    • @XGiveMeLibertyX
      @XGiveMeLibertyX ปีที่แล้ว

      Truck drivers have to pay late fees if they aren’t o time or there company. So if they sit on the freight for too long they are basically working for free.

    I'm a local here and I would say many of us are bad snow drivers. Too fast many of them. It's really bad the day after a storm and people are trying to be the first person on the lift at Mt. Rose or haul ass over to Northstar. There is only so much they can do with the roads and some people are just arrogant asses pushing too hard and that's when it goes down.

    Yeah. I-80 is a nightmare at times. I drive it everyday to work and often am absurdly late when there's snow.

    This was the worst storm in Reno in probably 15+ years. I don’t remember it being like this since I was like 5 or 6.

    That is scary. Why are people out driving in those conditions? Why not be safe and wait it out? Why your actions have to involve emergency personal?

    • @pattiwhite9575
      @pattiwhite9575 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jim Allen Yes but there has to be common sense used. A company can not force you to drive in extreme situations. Truckers are a tough breed. Nerves of steel.

      Still gotta drive to work to pay bills. It snows here every winter. If a storm lasts days or weeks you can't just not go to work. It's not the storm that's the main problem. It's drivers not slowing down. It looks like the driver taking this video is going too fast. That's how accidents happen.

      @@pattiwhite9575 hey go ask the Dispatchers, Brokers and their Clients! Their common sense are: "Get the F*ck*ng Freight delivered on time at all cost even your life or else you'll pay the late fee and we will take it OFF in your paycheck!"
      What do you think??! Do the truckers have a choice when they get threatened???? Did you felt the way I feel when your behind the wheel of a big ass truck that weighs 80,000lbs, loaded with meat 🍖🥓 🌭🌭🌭🥓🥓🥩🍖🍗🥓🥩🍖🍗🥓 and that freight needs to be delivered on time before the holiday starts?? This is why I quit Trucking it's not because of the Wild winter weather Conditions, Hot summer, Rainy Fall season, it's not about the asshole 4 wheelers and asshole bikers and crazy people I deal with everyday, it's not the road and highways either. It's the F*ck*ng Dispatchers, Brokers and asshole idiot Bosses that I dealt with everyday that I can't stand it anymore and the pressure and stress that they're causing me. That's why I quit Trucking and became a Contractor/Carpenter Framer, Welder, Plumber and Electrician and I'm making the same money that the owner operators does make every year.

    This town knew it was coming. Yet they don't stage plows around town.
    Plus they wait a few days to clear parking lots. One exception is the casinos. Those are cleared immediately! I'm handicap and they don't clear any spots for parking or sidewalks.

      The storm started out as heavy rain, and was forecasted to be heavy rain all day, but then turned to snow. And with the heavy rain, there were concerns of flooding along the Truckee river. So no, karen, our town did not know it was coming.

    It's pretty bad that none of these people with a CDL, can see that the road is going to be bad, the storm's going to be bad pretty bad that they're on their driving. I don't know why they can't face it that they need to get a parking space someplace. I don't understand why you got to get that extra mile and I just don't understand.

    drivers without snow tires and or chains should learn not to be out there. But instead they go out and expect others to save them?

    • @onetuliptree
      @onetuliptree ปีที่แล้ว

      Nevada does not do chain control, but if a driver wrecks they are held responsible for not having proper equipment for weather conditions.
