- Winter storm warning for southern Minnesota. Interstate 35 was shut down on the north side of the City of Faribault, MN as several Semi Trucks jack knifed along with numerous other vehicles crashed. Footage for just north of Faribault, MN with various clips of the pile up that happened just around noon today.

I retired from Truck Driving 2 years ago. Don’t miss winter driving at all. I had a weekly route to Montana the last 15 years. I Never chained up once in Montana. No accidents and No Tickets. I guess I was lucky.

I spent 15 years on the road as a trucker, I’m so happy this is my first winter off the road. People just won’t slow down or stay home when the roads get bad and yes that includes truckers.
They won't slow down. They act invisible until this happens.
Drove for 18yrs in state Our company never pulled any drivers off the road No matter how Bad conditions were But they preach safety Ya when it’s convenient for them

My sister and I were planning on a trip from Iowa to St. Cloud, but she has a bad cold so we postponed our trip. Probably would have postponed it anyway based on the forecast, but this video shows that not going this weekend was a good decision.

Hated driving in Mn when the weather was bad. People drove like they were crazy. No one ever drove according to road conditions. Drove from western metro to Eden Prairie. Prayed for my life every day going to work. SLOW DOWN people!!!!

As of November-12-2021 I left driving, no more putting up tire chains or finding parking space in rest stop or truck stop after 6 p.m.... no more dealing with dam broker.......,

In 1960 we drove from Alberta to Oklahoma in January with a welding truck pulling the trailer, and mom and us four kids (and a turtle) in the 1953 Pontiac. We were about the only vehicles on the turnpike through Nebraska! That Pontiac was a Tank ON that black ice.
Stay safe out there. I have noticed over many years there are more people driving on these roads in winter with no winter experience. Watching from the Philippines and not missing any of it.
Takes a snow or two for folks to remember how to drive in it. 4x4s, remember, you can't stop any better than 2wd, and put'er in neutral when coming to a stop.

Me too! Delivered in Owatonna. Got to Faribault around 10 am. Roads were dry!! Then went back to Owatonna to pu my load to AL out of Wenger. Drove 10 miles south great roads down to Clear Lake Waterloo Cedar Rapids.
Snow's not crazy, just cold and wet.
The air is humming with cell calls: "Looks like I'll be a little late."

Take a wild guess as to which side of the road is asphalt and which is concrete! I have been northbound in exactly this same area during a snow storm and it looked exactly like this then.

Prime, located in Springfield MO are the slowest trucks. known as moving road blocks to pass in the left lane, but this prime truck took blocking the road to another level 🤣🤣

I think everyone should have CB radios so they can hear warnings. Should be mandatory on semis. When cellphones weren't around that's how we connected with home base and to other drivers to warn of conditions.
That's a good idea but for the vehicles involved it all happened in seconds CB wouldn't have helped us lol
But it helps if some traveling in the opposite direction shout out a warning about stopped traffic ahead.

I'm in Quebec, where everyone is the best driver with all the lamest advice. But the rest of us, have winter tires that love ice and snow, so it's challenging and shitty at the same time.✌️🇨🇦✌🏿
My philosophy when it comes to weather conditions.. that load doesn't belong to you and isn't worth possibly hurting or killing yourself or someone else over.. it can be rescheduled. However, the lawsuits that can stem from an accident like this can leave you financially ruined. Not to mention messing up your safer score and costing you your job.
I have several friends who grew up in the upper mid-west, no way would they ever live there again, they love living here in sunny, snowless S Cal. I’ve lived here in SCal for over 45 yrs, living the Good Life.

Two simple words for all of the people when encountering such weather.... SLOW DOWN. Sometimes you get caught up in an unavoidable accident but if people would slow down most of these pile up accidents would not happen. All it takes is just one idiot to start a chain reaction accident, so slow down people.

Besides, those in nice and warm Little Rock, Memphis, St. Louis, Paducah, KY, etc., are in for a long night of nasty thunderstorms and very dangerous tornadoes. Right now there are tornado warnings for counties in Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, and Kentucky. The Weather Channel is currently showing pictures people have sent in of damage already done. It's part of the same system bringing the snow further north. Hope all are okay. Mother nature can pack quite a nasty punch.

It always amazed me when i lived in Minneapolis how bad the drivers were in the snow considering it gets significant snowfall every year.
There are many drivers in mpls who aren’t from Mn and that is a big part of the problem. And of course drivers don’t stay home in these events. Truckers don’t have a lot of choice at times however

We came from northeast Iowa to Minneapolis but left very early in the morning to beat the snow. Glad we did cause once we got to Minneapolis, it was snowing majorly. Glad the damage didn’t seem too bad.
