This is the 16th Episode of my Solo Motorcycle Journey in Pakistan and in this episode, I started in Gilgit and rode towards Astore on the newly built Astore road and went to explore Rama meadows and Rama lake with the breathtaking view of Nanga Parbat. It is one of the most beautiful but least visited valleys of Pakistan. I stayed overnight in a hotel in Chillam Chowki.
Northern areas of Pakistan are considered among the most beautiful due to stunning mountain vistas and natural beauty.

Several Years ago I went there at PTDC Motel Rama Lake with friends, This place is amazing, I have travelled several countries in Europe like Switzerland, France Germany, and lives in Canada but there is no place like Rama Lake and surrounding mountains.

Masha Allah, it's pleasure to see this area after 30 years. I served in Pak Army and spent 2.5 years in this area as Capt. I reconniter all this area on foot in snow in winter and on jeep during summer. During my tenure I saw death from very near many times.

The mapping intro was very interesting. Astore to Rama Lake track was just amazing. The drone footage of this region is very nice. Really like the tourist police cruisers, for such rugged terrain why did they give them road cruisers looks like a Harley Davidson. Such friendly folks all over the Northern Areas, makes the trip really nice.

I spent 1 year in this area in 1980. I had to travel from Chilam Chauki to Minimerg on horse. Normal speed for the jeep was 5/10 miles an hour. Roads are much better now.
