Just listening to the actress imitate the original VA’s speaking style for Sawako, it takes me back. This is so nostalgic, and I’m looking forward to seeing them bring this story to life once more.

I remember when I watched the 2010 version, happy, cried, laugh, cried again, and smile in the end. One of the best japanese live action to these days. Even my friend who didn't watch japanese dorama, felt so blessed to watch the 2010 version. It was true to characters, plot, setting, the atmosphere almost perfect back then. It seems like the manga' and anime' characters came to live.
I really love Kimi ni Todoke. The anime, manga and 1st live adaptation all hold a special place in my heart. RIP Haruma Miura, he will always be the perfect Kazehaya, with that refreshing smile that melted my heart as a teen. Also Tabe Mikako is also the best Kuronuma Sawako for me. She has that natural gloomy aura and glaring eyes but is really beautiful when she smiles, just like Sawako. The casting was top tier for the first live adaptation. It will be difficult to top it but I will check this out because nostalgia!

WATCHING THIS TRAILER MADE ME MISS MIURA SO MUCH. he played kazahaya so beautifully in the film and did him justice! I hope Suzuka does a fantastic job at playing the role.

Haruma's Kazehaya will always be in our hearts but I think we need to give Ouji a chance. He will not be casted if he doesn't give that refreshing and youthful vibe of Kazehaya. his got the youthful, refreshinh vibe and he got a beautiful smile that fits the description in the manga. Watched him in silent too and I can say that I can see the vision and I believe he will give justice to the role same goes to Sara Minami as Sawako. They will definitely nail their characters.
This is exactly what I had in mind! I love Haruma Miura (RIP 😢), but I don't think it's fair to judge Ouji's portrayal of Kazehaya Shota without even watching the series.

I think people should hope that this live action will show more sides of the manga that we didn't get to see in the movie. I rlly want to see Sawako's character development, Ryu and chizu's story, ayane and pin and kazehaya's family's story arc. Instead of judging the actors let's look forward and be thankful we will see these beautiful characters come to life again.
I could not help but cry as I remembered Miura Haruma in Kimi ni Todoke. He shone so brightly as Kazehaya. All the best to this generation of Kimi no Todoke actors, but I really do feel imprinted with Miura Haruma/Mikako Tabe.
I wish the author continued the story of them maybe 10 years later so we can see how everyone is doing, KazehayaxSawako & RyuxChizu married, Kento & Kurumi finding their loves (maybe with each other), and Pin seeing Ayane in a new light seeing as she’s grown up as a woman. Good love story material right there lol! So lovely, it made tear up in happiness several times. Im so glad it didn’t just adapt what the original anime showed (which deserves a complete remake like Fruits Basket!) but the complete manga as well. I loved Kazehaya x Sawako’s love story, it’s so sweet. The standout for me tho was Ryu x Chizu’s story. 10/10 drama

Missing Haruma Miura. He’s like the first Japanese actor that I watched all his dramas & movies. I fell in love with his character in Koizora & Gokusen and I watched all after that. He’s like one of the most sought-after actor on his days for anime adaptations. Which is what Kento Yamazaki is nowadays

This was genuinely one of my favorite manga and animes a child. I have vivid memories associated with this anime in relation to the place I was in. I am excited for the live adaption even if it can't beat how good the anime was in my mind (can't beat it mostly due to nostalgia on my part, not due to any production or acting values)

The OG live action movie nailed it so well that it felt like the anime really came to life, from the acting of the main and side characters to the sets. It was just amazing and what I still consider to this day as my all time favorite Japanese movie. Hope everyone gave this one a chance, but not set the bar too high since this is Netflix we're talking about. If it's disappointing then we still have the original but I still hope this one does well.

Yeah same. I’ve seen the trailer and the actor playing Kazehaya SOUNDS STIFF AF. Like where’s the refreshing sound. Like the natural deliver of lines. Kazehaya is a popular, friendly guy that is always surrounded by people and he has that certain tone when speaking. THIS NEW ACTOR playing Kazeha sounds like someone who got bullied. I remember watching Kimi no Todoke (anime) back in 2012, falling in love with the whole story and ofc, Kazehaya being my fictional crush since (lol…and Usui). Then, I watched the movie with Haruma (😢❤) and still was very much in love with this whole story. Speaking on Usui, I wish they made a drama out of Kaichou wa Maid Sama too, it would do so well.

While watching this series on Netflix, I couldn't help but compare the cast to the manga and thought how they could've done better with the casting. I searched for the old Kimi ni todoke film and thought the main leads represented the manga characters well compared to the recent one.

I used to watch the Kimi Ni Todoke movie every year but can't bring myself to since Haruma Miura's passing. Actually, I'm just watching this trailer and getting tears in my eyes. I want to be able to watch this because I love this story so much. Well done to the actors for taking on a heartwarming story such as Kimi Ni Todoke. ❤️

He’s like one of the most sought-after actor on his days for anime adaptations. Which is what Kento Yamazaki is nowadays

This was genuinely one of my favorite manga and animes a child. I have vivid memories associated with this anime in relation to the place I was in. I am excited for the live adaption even if it can't beat how good the anime was in my mind (can't beat it mostly due to nostalgia on my part, not due to any production or acting values)

The OG live action movie nailed it so well that it felt like the anime really came to life, from the acting of the main and side characters to the sets. It was just amazing and what I still consider to this day as my all time favorite Japanese movie.
Hope everyone gave this one a chance, but not set the bar too high since this is Netflix we're talking about. If it's disappointing then we still have the original but I still hope this one does well.

Yeah same. I’ve seen the trailer and the actor playing Kazehaya SOUNDS STIFF AF. Like where’s the refreshing sound. Like the natural deliver of lines. Kazehaya is a popular, friendly guy that is always surrounded by people and he has that certain tone when speaking. THIS NEW ACTOR playing Kazeha sounds like someone who got bullied. It’s just giving full on introvert. 😩

I love how I got recommended this on yt just after rewatching the first season (what awesome timing!). Anyway, the anime and the live-action movie have such a huge place in my heart 😭💞 I remember watching both during my middle school days. I'm so glad I get to relive that excitement watching the series as an adult. I'm happy that even more people will be introduced to these lovely characters!
I've seen the movie version when I was junior high school. I was contented to just have the butterflies in my stomach by just watching high school romance couples movies, instead actually trying to experience this kind of things, in that year and age. C😢uz I feel like those are the most appropriate age that you flirt, fell in love, break your heart and heal again.

I remember watching Kimi no Todoke (anime) back in 2012, falling in love with the whole story and ofc, Kazehaya being my fictional crush since (lol…and Usui).
Then, I watched the movie with Haruma (😢❤) and still was very much in love with this whole story.
Speaking on Usui, I wish they made a drama out of Kaichou wa Maid Sama too, it would do so well.

While watching this series on Netflix, I couldn't help but compare the cast to the manga and thought how they could've done better with the casting. I searched for the old Kimi ni todoke film and thought the main leads represented the manga characters well compared to the recent one.
