For those pining after Majestic Earth Tarot, "Tarot Landscapes" by Francesca Matteoni is an afforble option. Thev"Flow Tarot" by Rachel Torda is also gorgeous. And Thea's MakePlayingCards DIY idea is great! Wishing you a fulfilling, exciting depth year, Thea! PS I rehomed the Wizards Tarot, too. Not for me either. Barbara Moore's "Shadowscapes Tarot" guidebook is rather lovely but I agree about the Wizards one. Not her best.
Sometimes we can buy too many things. Consumer culture can be consuming. If you have a smaller amount of decks that you truly resonate with, and stop looking and new things, you may find that you have everything you need.

Okay. Amazing stuff in here to unpack. You have me thinking very seriously about the culling I have done and what remains to be done. Grand totals on spreadsheets are a mind killer. My numbers(as yet) are not reasonable, but I find I'm way more open to the idea of finding new owners for this stuff. Thanks for making videos. It's very good medicine, very smart musing, and sound philosophy. Additionally, I'm reminded that eating fresh pineapple is an excellent way to add the digestive enzyme bromelain to your diet. Pineapple is truly its own kind of medicine...helps your body digest other, perhaps less wise, decisions. Depth year or bust!! 🙏🔥🍍
Great video! I also trimmed the Wildwood because the images and titles don't agree. The problem I have with the Abyss Tarot is that I always get the Death card or the five of pentacles or both. But I can't part with it. My Nemesis is the Mary El Tarot. I love the art, in a way, but I can't read with it. I am good with getting and interpreting symbols, I do open interpretations with decks, I see so much with others but it's a big blank with the Mary El. I wanted to love it, but we never clicked. Big thanks for this. I feel less guilty about my wanting to say good bye to unloved decks! 😥

This was entirely wonderful - so glad to have found your channel. So much here - your warmth and clarity and spirit of inquiry! And…you inspired me to pull out my Tarot of the Spirit and Majestic Earth… two such different decks but which I love for similar reasons to yours… But I do need to quibble with you on two points: the touchstone deck is genius in its simpler first printing (the US Games edition - huge borders and gloss - yuck!) - it sings precisely because of its portrait vibe (although dang - I don’t read with it either, come to think of it) - and another quibble with you: personally: I just love that pineapple yellow on the card backs Fifth Tarot… now I need to check out your Oracle and to watch your other videos!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻
I can relate to the Tarot rut. I had the same feels as you toward the end of last year. I added Biblomancy to my readings and have been blown away with how the passages connect with the cards. I normally use The Pocket Pema as my book, poetry works well too. I hope this helps to brighten up your practice like a bright burst of pineapple!

It’s so hard to re-home decks sometimes! I feel you on going back and forth with the declutter. I have a few decks that may need to go but I just can’t do it. Best of luck! Meanwhile I feel inspired by the pineapple-goodness of the Out Grow Yourself Oracle 💗💗💗
I love David Austin Roses and have 2 in my garden. One is a lustrous deep pink and the other is a vibrant yellow, kind of a pineapple colour. The winter has been so mild over in the (south) UK so the pink one is already starting to bud 😲

I for one Definatly have bought less pinapples than tarot decks resently and have reached a number that is out of my comfortzone. I didn’t Think I would collect, But have been exploring decks to find the style that will voice my intuition best. This year I try rotating decks monthly, to see What I reach for the most, and to give decks the time they deserve. Im not at a decluttering level yet - maybe next year😅
I always thoroughly enjoy your videos :) I too have & adore the Outgrow Yourself deck. And many of the others you mentioned - some you're rehoming & some of your most used. I loved seeing your gardens - I am 60 years old & have never seen snow :( I have always wanted to & I LOVE winter, hate this humid hot sweaty summer we have every year where I can't do anything except drink pineapple jiuce!

I have made a lot of unwise impulsive deck purchases also because others just love them so much. Lessons I will definitely take with me into the future! I am trying to do a tarot no buy for a while and focus on using the ones I have and love. I have tarot of the Abyss and Oracle of Echoes second Ed which I love. Light seers and Linestrider Tarot. Hand drawn art speaks to me more than computer generated- love your gardens too!
I love David Austin roses. I used to grow them when I lived in Michigan but since I moved to Florida I've given up. They just don't do as well with the heat and humidity. In your tarot portion, I am still on the fence about Majestic Earth. But I found a reasonable price so I am going for it. I hope my experience is as good as yours. AND then you mentioned Touchstone and others experiences 😅 Ah yes, cataloging. I'm not into spreadsheets but I do keep pinterest boards with my wishlist, my collection, and things I've preordered or backed but aren't in my hands yet. It kind of suprised me as well but I am ok with everything in my collection at this point. Finally, I really dont care for pineapple but my husband makes a really good pineapple upside down cake. Or at least so I'm told by our friends and family. I still wont eat it 🤣
I totally feel you on the one card thing. I learned that one the hard way too 😂. Ive also gotten caught buying a deck for the book that’s supposed to be good and was just okay. Also, have about 3 erotic decks that I only keep because maybe I’ll use them but only use when I read for my friends around this time of year. I literally have to dust them off each year 😬 I’m totally going to get that mermaid deck on the next Hay House sale though 😂😂😂😂 I’ve been waiting for a while and I skipped it on the last one but I gotta have the diverse mermaids, I just gotta. Here I go with the buying for a few cute cards. Maybe I haven’t learned after all. 😆
Love this video! I want to do a declutter soon haha spring cleaning is in the air! I definitely know what you mean about daily pulls, it can get redundant and become "un-special" so when I feel that way I take a break from daily draws. If you ask me, the 5 of Cups in Wildwood was showing you just how much the deck DOESN'T jive with the way you read tarot. It was showing you it's biggest "flaw" so you could realize it was time to move on.

I made the Wildwood my personal deck last year. It's lovely and I love the drawings. That being said, I'm done. I didn't resonate with the cards easily. I had to really research. Which seemed weird. I mean I love the Druid craft... Just didn't ever get easy. I'll keep it and use when I need to push myself.
I only recently found you and really like your style of video. I boxed up most my decks in order to do a deeper dive on a few decks each month this year. Mostly because I bought so many decks in 2021 that I didn't spend any quality time getting to know them or read the guidebooks. So I am doing to a low/no buy year. I have enough in my stash. There is only a few I'm thinking I'll sell off. Most I like and may rotate into seasonal decks so they stay fresh. Feeling kind-of lucky, in that, my collection feels "complete". There isn't any style, theme or deck that I really want at this point. Just trying to figure out how to really use what I have well.
Currently have ‘The Wild Wood’ and ‘Tarot of the Abyss’ packed away in a cupboard, for very similar reasons, so you’re not alone. ‘Dreaming Way Tarot’ also hovers on the fence, find the 3 of pentacles doesn’t reflect my take on the card🤷🏻♀️

I have the fifth tarot...I get where you're coming from....I use mine for lighter readings...I know that not every deck carries the same energy so I have multiple decks for various issues...which I love because reading the same for each deck gets a bit monotonous...does this make sense? Lol... Anyway, enjoyed the video.

Ooh I don't know if I can say that one is preferred over the other, at this point they're almost interchangeable in my mind. If I had to choose, I'd probably go for the first one, based on my experience, but I imagine that's only because I've been using it for that much longer and really got a feel for it. I'm sorry that's probably not the most useful answer, but either way it's going to be great. There really isn't a wrong choice. :) xx
I'm seeing alot of declutter videos lately, and no one ever says...how do they actually "re-home" decks? I'm assuming through IRL tarot friends (where do I find these people?), Facebook groups (not on Facebook), Ebay (mmm-kay, I guess, never done that, could try)....? I would really like if someone would talk about how they actually do that. Maybe that seems like a silly question, but for the old folks in the back, just once, I would like an end-to-end explanation of the whole process how people go about this exactly.
It's definitely harder to re-home decks than it is to buy them. For me, I give the ones to my friends that I think they will like, I then try facebook marketplace, and offer them for sale to local people who can come and get them. I'm really not a huge fan of paying for shipping them out to people, like on sites such as Ebay and groups like Tarot Marketplace. It's definitely not worth the trouble for me or the buyer to pay to mail out a mass market used deck. It's the same price to just buy a new one, so selling locally is the best bet there. I also have the option to donate the ones that haven't found homes to a local collective in my area that sells divination tools, and some people are lucky enough to be able to sell used decks to their local witchy shop. However it's always important to remember that you'll never make back what you've put into a deck unless it's a weird 'popular and out of print' deck situation, so I'm always happy with anything I can get for them. Mostly I'm just glad they're going to a new and caring home. Hope that's helpful! xx
Very interesting share 🙃. I have to admit I’m surprised by how you feel about the Tarot of the Abyss. It is definitely not a surface reader, but instead after taking the time to work with it has given such depth to readings. Especially when looking for clarifications from other deck cards. I am enjoying the new depth it is bringing in to my reads. I do suggest reading the guide book thoroughly. But I do think that if others are looking for a surface reader it won’t be the deck for them. 🙂
Lol! Maybe I'll just start complaining about the heat anyway to convince myself it's summer, and confuse the pants off of everyone else in the process.

I boxed up most my decks in order to do a deeper dive on a few decks each month this year. Mostly because I bought so many decks in 2021 that I didn't spend any quality time getting to know them or read the guidebooks. So I am doing to a low/no buy year. I have enough in my stash. There is only a few I'm thinking I'll sell off. Most I like and may rotate into seasonal decks so they stay fresh. Feeling kind-of lucky, in that, my collection feels "complete". There isn't any style, theme or deck that I really want at this point. Just trying to figure out how to really use what I have well.

Currently have ‘The Wild Wood’ and ‘Tarot of the Abyss’ packed away in a cupboard, for very similar reasons, so you’re not alone. ‘Dreaming Way Tarot’ also hovers on the fence, find the 3 of pentacles doesn’t reflect my take on the card🤷🏻♀️

I have the fifth tarot...I get where you're coming from....I use mine for lighter readings...I know that not every deck carries the same energy so I have multiple decks for various issues...which I love because reading the same for each deck gets a bit monotonous...does this make sense? Lol... Anyway, enjoyed the video.

Hey, ich schreib das mal in deutsch weil es mir so leichter fällt. Doch ich feiere dieses Video weil es mir in einigen Fällen auch so geht das ich mit Decks einfach nix anfangen kann. Obwohl andere die decks total feiern und lieben. Ich mag deine Videos sehr. Und hör dir gern zu. Was mir bei Englisch leichter fällt, als es selber zu sprechen oder zu schreiben.

As a long time tarot reader I find that if I see a lot of the same cards coming out a lot I stop for about 3 days or more.
That's really good advice, to just take a short break, a reset to clear the mind and the cards. I feel like that would really help out. Thanks Laurie. xx

Ooh I don't know if I can say that one is preferred over the other, at this point they're almost interchangeable in my mind. If I had to choose, I'd probably go for the first one, based on my experience, but I imagine that's only because I've been using it for that much longer and really got a feel for it. I'm sorry that's probably not the most useful answer, but either way it's going to be great. There really isn't a wrong choice. :) xx
I have the Ethereal luna edition and it's so gorgeous but it doesn't speak to me. And I'm so frustrated about it.
I'm seeing alot of declutter videos lately, and no one ever says...how do they actually "re-home" decks? I'm assuming through IRL tarot friends (where do I find these people?), Facebook groups (not on Facebook), Ebay (mmm-kay, I guess, never done that, could try)....? I would really like if someone would talk about how they actually do that. Maybe that seems like a silly question, but for the old folks in the back, just once, I would like an end-to-end explanation of the whole process how people go about this exactly.
It's definitely harder to re-home decks than it is to buy them. For me, I give the ones to my friends that I think they will like, I then try facebook marketplace, and offer them for sale to local people who can come and get them. I'm really not a huge fan of paying for shipping them out to people, like on sites such as Ebay and groups like Tarot Marketplace. It's definitely not worth the trouble for me or the buyer to pay to mail out a mass market used deck. It's the same price to just buy a new one, so selling locally is the best bet there. I also have the option to donate the ones that haven't found homes to a local collective in my area that sells divination tools, and some people are lucky enough to be able to sell used decks to their local witchy shop. However it's always important to remember that you'll never make back what you've put into a deck unless it's a weird 'popular and out of print' deck situation, so I'm always happy with anything I can get for them. Mostly I'm just glad they're going to a new and caring home. Hope that's helpful! xx

Very interesting share 🙃. I have to admit I’m surprised by how you feel about the Tarot of the Abyss. It is definitely not a surface reader, but instead after taking the time to work with it has given such depth to readings. Especially when looking for clarifications from other deck cards. I am enjoying the new depth it is bringing in to my reads. I do suggest reading the guide book thoroughly. But I do think that if others are looking for a surface reader it won’t be the deck for them. 🙂
