    Drinking Amrut single malt as I'm watching your review. One of my best bang for the bucks.
    A relative is bringing me a bottle of the cask strenght this weekend. It'll be a fun comparison !

    Wow ..never tried this. Actually never seen in Wine shops in India, only yellow bottle, in mean only single malt whiskey is available, or may be I am missing. I will start searching 😁 from tommorow. Thank you so much for your valuable feedback on this whiskey.🙏🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳

    Great review! My friend brought a bottle over yesterday, and he tasted an IPA, hoppy flavor in the backend.

      May be what I was getting with the beer. Im less a fan of IPA than I am heavier beers.

    The huge differences in price drive me crazy. In my area, Amrut Indian Single Malt Whisky is $86.99.

    Have you done a review on Evan Williams Single barrel? If not that would be a great one to do! Best budget stifle barrel on the market IMO

    Doesn't the much higher alcohol content in the cask strength whisky numb the taste & smell buds somewhat?
    Did you also do a comparison after watering down the CS whisky to 46 % ABV?
    Or would that defeat the purpose of its existence?

    • @TheWhiskeyDictionary
      @TheWhiskeyDictionary  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this case since they are the same whiskey just at different proofs, that would defeat the purpose. Additionally, my comparison was more along the lines of which is better out of the bottle

    • @HRHKamal
      @HRHKamal 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheWhiskeyDictionary OK.
      But why do people buy cask strength whiskies? Do they have " tougher" taste buds than mere mortals?

      @@HRHKamal Gives a fuller viscosity. Very Low abv can feel watery.

    • @smashexentertainment676
      @smashexentertainment676 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HRHKamal If you chug it from the bottle, then 40% is fine. If you drink like a pour here and there, then cask strength is miles better. Btw, some 60% cask strength go down way smoother than regular 40%, so toughness is not necessarily relevant.

    I have an older version that was 70%. I don’t get the beer dregs flavor. I like it but some days it’s too hot. If I add water it gets too astringent. IMO Fusion is even better.

    @hobbesfan4196 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have grown to trust your reviews Bill. You have made some surprising notes on the nosing. The tobacco and beer dregs would be a disappointment for me. Time to get some stoppers from your merch. store, and maybe a shirt as well. Thanks Bill.

      Thanks Hobbes! You've been around forever and im happy to have you as a fan. The dregs disappeared over time but still... definitely there
