I'm originally from the West of Scotland and the Hebrides are certainly unique. Some of the most beautiful, unspoiled beaches in the whole wide world are on those Islands. Looking forward to trying Raasay, it's one I've been thinking about for a while.
To my eye stainless steel tanks just don't have the wow factor of a wood tank next to copper stills. I agree, new make going into Rye barrels is a great idea. I look forward to having a dram.
I gave Rasaay a try a few months ago and was very impressed. As you said, they use three types of casks. For the one I bought (standard, not cask strength) it shows they blend from six different expressions. Three cask types with peated and unpeated in each. I liked it so much, I ended up purchasing 4 of the 6 single barrel Na Sia offerings they have.. (Peated and Unpeated Chinquapin , Peated and Unpeated Bordeaux). Great Review as usual!
First time driving in Scotland was to Islay ferry. Much shorter from Glasgow but still an event for sure. More stressful than I anticipated but overall not bad looking back. This drive looks like a bit more to take on. If I try to do it someday I'll know where to look back for advice lol.
I am surprised it is on the list as well. While bottles are available at the larger chain stores in California, I am wondering about its distribution elsewhere.
Very impressed with Raasay so far. They’re on their way to becoming a top distillery.
Erik thank for the great content brother. Love that Raasay
This is a great review, lovely pictures too. The Isle looks stunning. Also very interested by how complex the flavor profile is for a younger spirit
Awesome review. Look forward to your 2024 Laphroaig Cairdeas review.
I look forward to you sending me a bottle so I can review it!

I quite enjoyed Raasay as well. Torabhaig is my favorite of the newbies so far but this stuff isn't far behind.
I’ll be doing Torabhaig next!
Awesome whisky...
It really is!
Erik - great video. Amazing scenery. A little surprised that Raasay is on the list for 2025. Cheers!
