  • A fun little thought experiment about Incubi and Aspect Warriors. How alike are they really? Let's go through the history of the Incubi to find out!

The origanel incubi were very similar to the striking scorpions. There tormentor helms were essentially a pistol in the helmet. They were like the best of both the Howling banshees and best of the striking scorpions

A well researched video on the eldar that doesn't just leave things at surface level... With references??? This is... Amazing. Thank you so much, I really enjoyed this.
I've always considered Incubi to be exactly what you called them- A dark mirror of the aspect warriors. Arhra pretty much twisted the aspect warrior culture and made it something new. The incubi maybe more disciplined in some matters, but they still over indulge in something- murder.
Also, I've heard the new book on Lelith Hesperex has some titbit on the Incubi as well. I didn't read it yet myself, but its probably worth checking out.

legit just randomly got recommended you and this was a really neat video.
eldar lore is done significantly better in non eldar books of the top of my head the fabius bile trilogy is a secret harlequin trilogy, void stalker the last book in the incredible night lords omnibus also portrays them well, lukas the trickster book is an excellent dark eldar book same with da big dakka and even in dante's book there's an entire chapter with one of the coolest eldar corsair character I've seen in awhile

@@myonlyfriendtheend4958 thanks for the heads up, ive long mourned the unconscionable dearth of good writing about our dear space twinklies. Way more interesting than any fantasy counterpart!

@kMegalonyx legit blame gave Thorpe he's not a bad writter in fact he's one the best game rules writters at gw however he legitimately a. Hates eldar b. Couldn't add in the really wild stuff he wanted
So one of gav Thorpe's ocs is watch cpt Artemis the guy who said "do not ask why are we killing the alien instead ask why not" and the whole fucking up the ritual to kill slaanesh (the whole story was told in a campaign book so the info was a pain in the ass to find it had some really cool fights with some actual great fatalities from the eldar) gav has also stated there are chaos eldar in the eye of terror and some do show up in the black legion books as ultra mutants. Another really neat eldar story is atlas inferno, battle fleet gothic and of course dawn of war reckoning.

To be fair, khaine is a god of murder. This aspect is the one that the aeldar don’t want to respect

The incubi are so aspect warriors. Especially looking at drazhar.

considering some aspects are unique to a single craftworld cormuragh could certainly have their own

Eldar lore is intresting, except for the fact that GW kinda forgets they exist cause they are SUPER HARD TO WRITE.

@@quetzalcoatl1013 They really aren't that difficult to write, it's just that Black Library always gets authors who don't like the Eldar to write them.

@@switterbeet40K True, but I feel GW wrote themselves into a corner when the Eldar mind is incomprehensible to a mere human, and then have to translate that into narrative form. Trying to force yourself to write in a complex and confusing way is difficult and not everyone can pull it off.

Do the eldar really distinguish between dark and regular eldar? Im not too educated on twinkle-elves in general but it kinda seems like the distinction is mostly a human-made one, genuflected towards by the eldar to reduce the baggage they already get from xenophobic humans, reduce the flak they get, but it doesnt seem like they make any real hard distinctions, not too different from two craftworlds that disagree about some stuff. Seems like the Imperium is just letting them off the hook a bit. Which is understandable, being, as they are, pretty much just as bad, just less honest about it, but I wonder if even they make much distinction between goth and fancy flavor elfies.

@@kMegalonyx They do. Both groups hold a mutual disrespect for each other. They are more likely to work with each other than other species but it doesn't happen that often outside of Corsairs. Some Eldar actually change factions though.

@@switterbeet40K thats what they tell us monk-eh, anyway! Maybe thats why GW never gives them even a fraction of the attention they deserve in books or games, to preserve the pointy propaganda! Idk if that is the correct species-est slur.

A something burger, if you will? Perhaps, for short, a burger? If its made of beef, of course, we call it a ham burger. If its eldar, do we call it an ork burger? A man-burger?
