Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen have been crowned Bundesliga champions for the first time in their history.
Leverkusen beat Werder Bremen 5-0 to move 16 points clear of Bayern Munich - who have won the last 11 Bundesliga titles - with five games left to play.

@@cafl9844 What are you on about? When did Bayern ever have 79 or more points after 29 games? Leverkusen has already amassed more points than Bayern had EOS in the last 3 seasons. Leverkusen has an opportunity to break the record for highest points in a Bundesliga season. Although, it might be difficult since 4 of the remaining 5 matches are against teams in the top 7.

They never once felt the pressure in the second half of the season as Bayern kept losing matches to teams they usually wouldn't.
Up to the first half of the season both teams were playing a great Bundesliga season.
Bayern was just two points back with a game in hand.
Something went wrong in the second half of the season when Bayern startet to perform really bad and lost the whole thing in just a few matches !
They lost against "mighty' Bremen and Bochum and gave away victory in Freiburg to move on to lose against even more "mighty" Heidenheim.
In normal Form that wouldn't have happened and we still would very much have a title fight !
There have been obviously major disturbances between Tuchel and the team for whatever reason and let's not forget Bayerns exceptional bad luck concerning injury problems this season !
And let's be honest here, Bayer didn't exactly have any major opponents to beat in the EL and whenever one of those teams performed well, they were in big trouble.
Such as against a team from Aserbaidschan!
They could easily have lost both games against Stuttgart and Leipzig and where lucky to draw in Munich in the very last second of the match .
This whole unbeaten thing is totally overhyped as they got lucky many times.
@@cafl9844 Your logic is flawed. There have been several seasons in the last 7-8 seasons when Bayern had no "pressure" on them. What stopped them from going on a fantastic run? Also, teams winning/drawing a match in the final minutes is not a new thing. If you subtract these "lucky" points from the past league winners in EPL or La Liga, you'll find a lot of them not winning the league.
