My 02 accord has trouble starting up for the first start up of the day I have to cycle the key 4 times let it set for like 10-30 seconds and then it starts up! But as soon as it starts I can turn it off and it fires right bqck up
1983 is not even fuel injected, those engines have a million vacuum hoses & a carburetor. No, it doesn't have one, if it does it's going to be thermo vacuum switch. I'm not quite sure, it's been about 15 years that I touched a car like that.
I have a 1999 honda accord coupe v6 ex mines not tryna start up for nun you think it could be that its not tha cold outside i change my battery an drove it then couple hours it dont want turn over
if the car is withing the same year as the one I fixed in the video, there is no such thing as pump the gas. fuel is already pressurized at the injectors when you turn the key on, unless the system that delivers the pressurized fuel at the injectors is faulty. but if you have other issues that you just can't figure them out. a scan tool sure comes in handy.
@@evoixdelaluz Bro. Even is the car is like that pushing the gas pedal helps or makes a change since you are opening the Throttle by pushing the gas pedal.
@@DonVerchi700as that's totally not true, if the ecm is not opening the fuel injectors long enough, then there is not enough fuel to ignite when the spark plug delivers spark. Coolant temperature input is critical for the ECM to adjust injector pulse width.
My issue same, it took 3 times to start had to hold down the gas peddle to help it start my 2003 Honda Accord 2.4L I just ordered new oem Spark plugs. No codes only in cold weather it does this
Thank you sir you just fixed my car for me. I'm in Texas in the heat and this was still my problem only when engine cold

Best diagnosis for slow starting honda engine. Other TH-cam lead to starter replacement.
Great video
I have a 1983 Honda Accord 1.8 liter engine that has a problem starting in cold weather. Does this year have that ETC sensor?

One thing is not cranking at all, the other one is cranking but not starting, which one is it?
Its turnin over with no start I check the alternator starter it’s good
What is that part called
Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT) for short reference.
I was this years old when i realized those came with dizzies on a v6
I have a 2000 honda accord ex having problems starting when engine is cold but eventually it starts up only the first time when I try to start the car
have a mechanic check your car, is doing exactly what this one did, unless you have good automotive knowledge, and tools to fix.
What size socket fits the sensor
I'm not sure, I think it's 19MM or 3/4 standard size.
What if I have to pump the gas a lil for it to start of a cold start every time and it used to just start
