Spectacular test. Jung has a better seat, and this horse is more through and correct, than any dressage rider I’ve seen at this level. Textbook “schwung”.
Transition from collected to extended to collected canter gave me goosebumps and a little lump in my throat.
And a correct, old school salute-just drop the hand behind the knee palm forward-instead of the elaborate hand waving now in vogue. Salute is a way of showing lightness and self-carriage, demonstrating that the horse’s obedience and submission aren’t acquired by force.
A beautiful performance! Am I wrong to say I prefer his extended trot to many Grand Prix dressage riders 😳😝 much more active and pushing from the hind end, rather than over fixating on a showy front end
You are NOT wrong. The difference is in the back. Notice how Jung’s horse’s back swings and moves rhythmically. Now compare with London 52.

Also, no double bridle needed for these results!
Better than pure dressage tests. No tension. Just partnership and relaxation. Dressage riders need to take note! More beautiful and natural.
Maybe british Fans were not amused that Michael Jung could top their results.

Why isn't all dressage like this
He moves his hands way too much. No a very elegant performance on his part
His hands are super still if you compare to many dressage riders
Chipmunk was self carrying not by riders hand as Lucinda said.
