The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

The transformation from a month ago when she was trounced by Zhang Shuai has been amazing. She has learned so much and progressed so quickly and become court smart and confident in her game. If she can beat opponents in top 50 with this ease, she will be in the top 50 by the end of the year! Go Emma!

She has a likeable personality and also gives credit to her opponents which is nice to see. Will be rooting for her and also hope that she does well throughout the tournament.
Edit: I knew that she would go deep but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that she would take the trophy home. Congrats on a well deserved maiden GS title, Emma!!

What a fantastic final. It was a treat to watch, never a dull moment. Fearless tennis. These teenagers from unknowns have overnight become household names. Rising superstars. Emma n Leylah possess confidence, self belief n mental toughness, these r qualities of a true champion. They have indeed changed the dynamics of women tennis. Leading up to the finals rankings, top seeds, odds to win have all been tossed up to the dustbins. They have given the confidence n self belief to present n budding players "yes, i can win too"Thats great for women tennis

Over hard courts, clay courts, or grass courts, it simply proves this didn't prove anything about Emma's tennis or her ability. It only proves this was a One Trick Pony. A Blind squirrel that luckilyl found a nut. The next 12 months until the next USO will demonstrate this was a simple situation of "LUCK". She's talking like an overnight tennis expert.
