As a small tweak to your build, I would recommend using CASE in the side torso with the Gauss. The ammunition can move to another slot as it is inert. This will prevent you from being destroyed if the Guass is critted and give you a chance to fight on for a bit longer.

Hi Baradul, can you do an ALL machine gun build? No lasers, no PPCs, no Gauss, no autocannons, no missiles, etc. Just light, regular, and/or heavy machine guns plus lots of ammo. No need to worry about heat management, LOL!
@@kylenguyen7371It’s not a shtick, it’s just how the Piranha was designed. I notice you talk about a "Battle Buddy" in a bunch of your videos, but that always lasts just until lasers start flying. I don't mind, but the whole game is a team sport, so everyone should stick together.
Sticking together isn't always the best way to *support* each other. The important part is to peek at the same time as your team so they can only shoot one of you
I love hunchbacks. Mostly because of Tex talks battletech's video about it. And the mental image of the mech running up. Punching the enemy. THEN shooting the big gun.

@@jbuck9821 Thanks. Yeah, dual Light Gauss is definitely a lot more viable than I thought, especially with the range difference plus comparative fire rate. Unless it's different than tabletop, weight is 12+12 tons versus Heavy's 18. Are you running a smaller engine, cutting armor, etc. to make up the weight difference?
Case is rarely worth the tonnage. If the gauss goes this build is basically done anyway. Sure you could negate the CT damage from the explosion but you'd be left with 1 or 2 medium lasers which would hardly be worth spending half a ton on keeping in the fight. Especially when you should be using left side to shield and often will lose that first.
Everyone is running 3 armor on the rear now. Wit the way hit boxes work and the chance of something stealth catching you by surprise it seems like a bad idea. If you need to retreat you get ripped to shreds. 🤷♂️

What the heck are you talking about? First of all, ALL Hunchbacks are known for their hunch. That's literally how they got their name! Secondly, the Grid Iron is a Mech with TWO hunches: one for Ballistic weapons, the other for a Missile weapon. When I manage to get one, I tend to use it with a Clan Mini Gauss or Heavy Gauss Machine Gun & either an SRM-6-ST, SSRM-6-ST, or ATM-6(C), as well as all of the Medium lasers that'll fit on it & a pair of Medium Knuckles. And then you have its opposite Clan Hero: Deathwish. That thing also has two hunches, but one is Ballistic while the other is a Large Energy mount. That one, I tend to go with a Clan Mini-Gauss & a Plasma Rifle, but the rest is the same.
i think heavy gauss has a damage reduction on a light mech excluding urbies, you can head shot a bigger mech easy with heavy gauss but when shooting light mechs they seem to miss most of the time.
Two light gauss are also 24 tons to the single heavy gauss' 18 tons. That's six tons that you can't use on your ammo, armor, engine, heatsinks or secondary weapons. DPS isn't everything either, face time is also important. Light gauss have such high DPS because they have a higher fire rate, which means that you need to expose yourself to the enemy more frequently to deal full damage. Is it generally better still? Probably, but it's not that black and white.
@@screamingcactus1753 Its not about dps but range difference. Light guass has 810 range(20 dmg) while heavy has 220(25 dmg). You are definitely going to get shot more and have fewer chances to shoot if you use heavy guass. Also because you can use light engine if you use light guass, the weight difference is not actually 6 tons.

@@michealjordan3278 Two Light Gauss rifles might be too heavy for fast mechs, and it’s also hard to find one with quirks as good as the Hunchback. However, the Hunchback is also a medium mech, and if you use a light engine without other weapons, the speed can be slightly faster.
