I'm 100% sure that there is no person in this world, who can be a better english teacher than you. You make everything so easy to understand. Congratulations for your achievements! You are a great teacher!
I am a black South African. We were offered inferior education under apartheid, yet despite all that I am able to use 96% of the prepositions simply by just reading a lot. Thanks professor, I enjoy the free lessons. God bless you 🙏
I didn't start reading "on purpose" untill I was 24 years old. But after a few short years I was AMAZED to find that, not only did my vocabulary improve, but it reached other aspects of lessons like word problems in mathematics, something I always struggled with in grammar school. Reading is now one my favorite things to do, and I wish I had started younger.
I had a teacher once who told us "If you are in doubt, think if you can WALK when you're inside of the transportation. If you can, you are ON it". Exceptions aside, it has worked so far...
As an English tutor myself, you're someone who I look up to as a model of how to teach in a way my students can easily understand me. Thank you for your classes, they help me reinforce my knowledge so I don't pass on my mistakes.
"... clearing this UP..." is more common to use when confusion has been resolved. :) "We cleared UP the misunderstanding during a long conversation over coffee." "We cleared OUT the garage and now have room to park our car in it." "I need to clear UP my thinking if I want to plan for the future." "I need to clear OUT negative thoughts if I want to plan for the future." CLEAR UP is used more when something (usually mental, but not always) had been addressed, dealt with, and improved. CLEAR OUT is related to removal, or disposal of something (usually, but not always, something tangible.) "We cleared out the restaurant during our long conversation to clear up the misunderstanding." Clear Out here means you were there so long that all the other customers came and left, but you were still there.
I’m from Australia, so a native English speaker, and I’ve been watching his videos as if I’m trying to learn how to speak it. Tell you what though, I’m still learning stuff.
Yeah when your native, you don't think about the "why's" and "how's" of what we say, we just learn it by watching and studying what other people say and how they say it
I am having my CAE exam next week, however, it is essential to revise for the most simple vocabulary and grammar as we tend to forget about them at times, and it's crucial to use them properly on essays as well as on the speaking part. Thanks James, ypu're the best English teacher ever!

Just learned that In and On have their own specific usage, I thought back then IN as long as you are in an enclosure, and On is on the surface. I watched this video "in" my room. I gotta say that your videos are so interesting to watch, thank you for helping me learn English.
this best and simplest explanation i ever had
Wow, You are a great teacher and your lesson was so understanding and relaxing
I'm from Uganda. thanks Teacher JamesESL
I love how you explain the lesson in the most fun way where we could understand it easily.
thank you so much omg i literally didnt know what to do cause i’m writing a test tomorrow and thank your video i understand everything
did you pass
I remember I would say to my ex-wife,
“Where are you at?!?!” And she would casually say,”Behind that Preposition!” 😂
You made the explanation for transportation too complicated. It's easy. It's all about size. If you don't fit standing up, you are _in_, if you do fit standing up, you are _on_. *So easy!*
Good point of view Emmanuel! We love it! And also we'd like to invite you for visiting our channel! Let's learning English together!
Besides that, as other students pointed out, this is the best video about this topic so far (and I've watched many). As always, James, very clear!
He also forgot the detail about ON foot and ON horse, both are often used in english, and to mention that when it comes to specific dates we must use ON instead of IN with months, for instance.. On January 31st / 31st of january.
Am I wrong?
Happy Kun
Brian Zabala Brian Zabala no, because, 31st of january is a day,of course must use on. he has explained about that. im sorry for my english
