I recently had to replace the carburetor in my older STIHL BG85 hand-held blower. I tried rebuilding the old (original) carburetor CIQ-S68 using a kit, but I still couldn't get it to run good. I ordered an aftermarket one (HIPA) off of Amazon, and surprisingly it has worked out great. I had to adjust the low & high adjustment a little bit.
Sounds great. I was wondering about those inexpensive carbs.

It was cheaper for me to buy an aftermarket carburetor for my Tecumseh lawn mower, then to buy carb cleaner and a rebuild kit. The new carburetor runs fine. Most people said you had to take off the muffler in order to get out the car on it. That wasn't the case for me, and on top of that the old bolts stripped out the block when it came out. I then had to run out and try to find two more bolts that was very specific for the muffler, and a heli-kit.
I had one of these, but a string trimmer. It ran fine one day, wouldn't start the next. I replaced coil, plug, carb and fuel lines but it never ran again. I also checked for a plugged muffler. Defeated.
I have had good luck with them
I’ve bought lots of 2 and 4 cycle carbs off Amazon. Most were fine.

Was it Ethonel left over the winter that killed the carb? I understand gas with Ethonol will eat the carb in just a few months.
