    Looks like somebody is enjoying there new lift table...
    Good idea ...i always take an old bicycle that has good tread
    and glue and screw it to the wheel..and it works well
    thanks for sharing Cheers friend 🍻🍻🍻

      Knobby bicycle tires work well on front drive with plastic worn out wheels. I put 4 screws in them, last forever.

    Thanks for the cool hack for fixing bald self propel drive wheels! I have an antique Jacobsen commercial mower that's front wheel drive and the wheels are bald on it so I thing I'm going to try this because I doubt I can get new drive wheels for it anymore since it's so old, it's from the 70s.

    Thanks, Mowermedic! I have the exact situation with a front-drive Craftsman. This is a really nice traction hack!

    Great idea using the grinder. I tried burning a tread in mine & it looked like crap so I bought new ones.🤣

    I've tried that and in my case you can't go too deep before you cut into the plastic rim but you get a few more years out of it.

    Could use self tapping screws be like ice cleats get mega traction for climbing hills, But should work ok

    Yeah, my Bolen's self propelled had a similar proprietary "D" axle so that the relatively inexpensive aftermarket universal Troy Bilt, Murray etc. would never work so I had to retread them, too or get raped for $23 or $25 a piece for OEM front wheels ! Eventually, I did find them for only $12.72/each and bought a couple sets of those that I eventually had to retread with a dremel, too.

  • @dfields9511
    @dfields9511 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great
    I was able to on a Troybilt
    Pry out the tread on front
    And same size was on back. And put the tread from rear on front
    Then I had a scrap mower wheel that was the exact same size to out in rear.

      I agree FWD is crappy when all the weight is in the rear grass catcher, the knobby treads do make it a lot better though.

    Hi, love your videos! I have a Toro 22" 190cc with rear propel issues it has a grinding sound and propels but very week propel. I took gear box apart nothing seems broken. The wheels and the drive sprockets has small wear the one wheel is black hard plastic the sprocket on the shaft is metal. I do think the issue is from the drive gears but not sure. Any thoughts? Also if it is the drive gears is there any cheap fix that comes in mind? They have kits on Ebay that replaces the plastic junk drive gears but they are expensive. Thanks bro

      frally1000 I've had
      To
      Replace the
      Wheel
      And drive pinion on many many toro walks. Even just
      A
      Little wear the gears will strip
      And grind

    I have push mower similar to this, and one of the back tires has it's 9/16 nut, attaching it to the shoulder bolt on the height adjuster is spinning, won't remove. I think the threads on the bolt have been stripped by the nut. Any way to get that nut off, it spins, won't unscrew? Perhaps i'll have to replace the back wheel and the adjuster assembly? Thanks MM1!!

    • @65csx83
      @65csx83 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the nut is not properly threading itself on the shaft, how is it retaining the wheel? Are you sure it's not the shaft that's come loose from the plate and is spinning?
