She's better than many I've tried (& failed😊) to tolerate. I appreciate that these are volunteers but some make listening a chore instead of a pleasure. Her accent & tone make it easier to overlook her mistakes. Ty for your ch!
Turns out that its narrated by Helena Michell who is an Australian-born English actress. Clearly not brought up reading English classics, explaining the very frequent mispronunciations! Was there no one else to check the quality of recording as it was produced?
If these young narrators would take their job seriously, they would do well to listen to the best classics for understanding of words and pronunciation, [probably not so many TH-cam versions].

@@sandyno1089 The point is, this is a free recording and took a lot of work. We could always do it over ourselves, put in all that work, and no doubt pronounce everything perfectly.

Like others, I found the mispronunciations amazing and really unfortunate. "Gallant" and "amiable" are not difficult words.
