Isn't it crazy that these 200 yr old books are still so relevant today?? I can't imagine having such an amazing writing gift and wo derful insight. I recommend all high-schoolers, and older, read every one.

It has been completed by an anonymous editor. I have it. Jane's work finishes at the end of chapter 6 which is about 1/3 of the way through. We intend to listen to this and then read the rest. I'll write again when we've done that and let you know if the completion works.
Thank goodness that the author shared her ideas as to the conclusion of the plot so that her readers (or listeners, in this case) are not left in internal suspense!
Even at Charle’s young age, ? 11-14 years, perhaps… (as young boys and men were then allowed more freedoms than were young women!) had the perfect honest quick reply to the witch, than had he been older, he might have chosen to filter! Some things, indeed, never change! These types still abound in every generation, and, sadly, shall continue to …
It was begun and abandoned by Austen in 1804. As she both reworked previously written works and wrote new ones after this it was obviously a story she did not feel was interesting enough to tell.

At 19th century, it was a dangerous job because there was so little hygiene information and anatomic information. So many patient died at that time, and surgeons got sick because of lack of hygiene. Of course if they were at this century, they wanna take him to their daughter as soon as possible. 😂
Appreciate the effort, but dull. No inflexion of tone, but not as bad as Alice Savage. I think that's the name anyway. Apologies to her horde of admirers!
The reading is always directed by a director I don't know if that is true to this production. The reader is like an actor to be directed as the 'frount man'
javamann1000 Seriously? Of all the things you have to be thankful for with Librivox's thousands of free audiobooks, you have to whine about their announcement at the beginning that the recording is from Librivox.org, the narrator's name, and the fact that all of their recordings are in the public domain - information that typically lasts less than 30 seconds! Are you fucking kidding me? GTFO! You are too much if a selfish piece of shit if you can't handle such a simple announcement, especially since it gives the reader an opportunity to give his or her name so as to get credit for their FREE/PRO BONO performance! You are so typical of the effete, spoiled, stupid, pussified milleneals of today. Just GTFO. What a total dickhead you are.
Javamann. I agree , its not the narrators fault , just the organisation. Its reasonable to do it once , not every chapter. Its weird. One recording i gave up on because it was so irritating.K
Dull....depressingi is the word i would use. You can see that its jane Austens work, but there was no joy or character in the reading. Must try it again with a different narrator, hope it puts a smile on my face.
This is crap. Never would have guessed it's Jane Austen, although it does have the upcoming social function that is endlessly blabbed about--obligatory in a Jane Austen novel.

As we " splash along the dirty lane" of life; Librivox smooths the bumps and rocks! Easing the discontents of strife...
Oh Jane, how we wished you’d have lived on to finish this! And all the other wonderful books you would have written! 🌹
Yes wow
I agree with my whole heart. Very thankful for what she has accomplished.

What a shame it is for this book to end here!! I am bitten, smitten, and want more!!
Miss Osborne: "Charles, you have got a better partner than me."
Charles: "Yes."
Me: "Yes you unfeeling, lying, selfish witch!"

I love this reader. Beautiful
Loved this book, wish it was completed.
Wow - an actual good narrator! Does this reader have any more ? 🙏🏼❤️
Surprising difference of opinions on the reader. But it is very important to find one that you're happy with. I really like her voice.
Wonderful reading by Gavina.
Her voice is so soothing… I literally use it as a sleep aid when trying to fall asleep.
Greatly narrated…Just the correct speed to relax to of an evening 😊
Emma's aunt and uncle did a wonderful job of raising her.
I wish Karen Savage would read this.
After listening to Karen Savage galloping through Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion, this narrator is a very welcome change.
@@janicebillington2633 I actually slow the speed down in the TH-cam settings if Karen Savage is reading. It's like she thinks it's a race.
That's just rude
I like this narrator because her pacing varies and gives more nuance to the story
Thank you Librivox You Rox!!
Thank you for skillful reading
I love the narrator
Thanks for a beautiful narration.
Never heard of this book.
. Thank you, I enjoyed listening to this book which I have previously read. So well read that I enjoyed it as much as if I'd never read it myself.
very enjoyable reading
A great narrator for a great work.🦋🌺
R.i.p Jane Austen lots of love to her

Couldn't find yours but would like to. I subbed yr channel tho. From Adelaide down under! 👇💜🙃
Well read. Thank you!
An appropriate accent for the material. Rare for Librivox! TY to the reader, (whose name I dont dare try to spell) for volunteering.
I agree! I might find a book written by a southerner, and I might volunteer. If I could handle the criticism! Lol
Thank you......
We love this.
Nooooooooooo...... why didn't she finish it?!!!!!!! It's only aroused our appetite without bedding it back down!
She died before she could
@@ernestinefoster4217 means?

Gopher, Everett?😂
So, who do you think Emma would end up with?

Karen Savage is a great reader!🥰
I agree.
All Librivox recordings are a real drag.
The repetition of all the whole details at every chapter!!!!!!!!!
