This looks great I finally bought a pair of locking setters this last fall. An upgrade from using a rope for years. Now I gotta pick one of these up

Got to get me one of those! Going to be 65 in a few months and it's getting a bit harder to man handle those springs. Thanks Jeremiah!

Heard they can be handy for getting a trap off you too, never had to do it. Had them for a couple years and like em a lot

Long story but I caught my fist in a 330 and I used my RTS Setter to close the springs to get my hand out and found out I could not press the release down with one thumb. So, I had one spring closed and one open. I did not have another setter with me as I hiked in with everything and was trying to keep things light. As a beginner, I forgot the 4 ft. rope they suggest you carry to get yourself out of your trap so ended up prying with sticks to pry open trap enough to very painfully pull my hand out. I realize monthes later how this happenecd to begin with and how I can prevent and or be better prepared next time. Given a choice though I think I would almost rather go through natural childbirth again over getting my fist and thumb caught in a 330 again. I did not to my knowledge break any bones buy my hand is still not back to the full strength it use to be yet and I am going on 4 monthes.

The reson I got caught was because I was in a hurry to take out the trap and ge back to the car. So, what I did was take a stick and poked it on the trick while holding stick with both hands. When I started to apply pressure, the stick broke and my hand slipped down with the stick onto the trap. What I should have done 1st was put my safety on the trap, put the spring safeties on and then bumped the trigger to set off the trap. A lesson I have learned the hard way.
