    This just makes me love my old Hyster 155 even more. Let the lift be the body and the human be the brain, it's better that way.

    9 years of working in a warehouse that wants drivers to do 35 moves an hour. With 1 third of the moves being pulled from the highest levels in the warehouse. How durable is this machine? Can it keep pace like a gocart at a local gocart race track? Thats the pace my last warehouse wanted me to work at.

    Holy moving parts! Like 100 sensor servos, piles of hydraulics, slide barrings all over and $3000 tires. Yeah, warehousing costs would shoot up with this things cost and repair.

      Ding ding we have a winner. You obviously get it. Too many people are infatuated with all the gadgetry without realizing the true cost and complexity of all this nonsense. Even people who should know better. These same people will bitch when all these things eventually break, need constant maintenance with huge repair Bill's. Eventually ending up in the scrapyard with older, more reliable machines still in service without the hassle and complexity.

    Being able to talk to the people working around you is important in some situations. Does it come without all of the cabin features? Radar area warning, I suppose and radio 2way contact would suffice. It looks like it could use some more balancing weight too for the bigger jobs. Heavy lifting gear usually use chains but I would envision rubberized belts could be adapted as in motorcycle's drive train.

    Nice concept. But as most companies are reluctant to maintain their forklifts then one like this once its broken down will be too expensive to fix.

    • @rampage3337
      @rampage3337 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      stevesau100 and will never be able to work sins most forklifts need to be made from strong materials that can take 1000s beatings whit out compromising the safty

    • @Raven1024
      @Raven1024 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      swedish gaming Eh there's plenty of materials you could make this out of that would be more than adequate. I mean even just steel would be fine. Lightweight is no concern since you kinda want the weight in a forklift. just heavy steel and some good thick lexan panels.
      There's a lot of kinda pointless stuff included though...like do the armrests really need to pneumatically raise?
      Also if you're going to do proximity sensors on the front ideally they would intelligently adapt to the load. Ie that wide pipe they would watch for things at the tips of the pipe. Otherwise I'd be worried about the pipe triggering it constantly.
      Overall it would probably better at this point for them to do something like this, but make it a driverless forklift.

  • @allenmckinney9533
    @allenmckinney9533 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a bunch of parts that can break. I'd take the Yale I work with and pick this thing up and haul it to the trash before it would break on me. The only extra thing that may be needed is the inclosed cab but with vent holes or a vent fan for driving in the summer time.

  • @KevinRobots
    @KevinRobots 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Boss: Why did you barely get any work done?
    Driver: Because I had to wait forever while my stupid Doosan forklift Opened the pointless door, adjusted the backboard, extended the counterweight, scanned a pallet, pointlessly illuminated everything around me, x-rayed the shelf, tilted the cab, screwed with my seat and swept the floor!
    I usually like concept machines, and this has some good ideas, but I just can't see this working in real life. It may be comfortable, but would kill productivity.

  • @Hyperion62
    @Hyperion62 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Nice concept
    Horrible idea, try driving a forklift before designing one.
    1. the back of the forklift extending to counter weight the load is interesting, but the driver will have to always drive like its extended making it pointless, because if he drove like it was retracted he would likely kill someone by crashing into an aisle.
    2. waaay too many moving parts, $1000 says it breaks in the first month and costs to much to fix.
    3. to many options, very few companies need an all in 1 forklift, if you need to get pallets from racking buy a reach truck, if you need to load lumber on trucks, buy a forklift
    4. way to expensive
    5. etc etc etc

    • @71tofu

    All that tech and nobody thought of having the cabin turn 180° so the driver doesn’t have to drive with the load obstructing his view. So many of these machines require the driver to drive in physically awkward positions or having his view partially blocked by the load. Wanna make them safer? Try increasing the drivers forward visibility.

    What type of cold fusion reactor does this thing run on... Did your team just look at a pic of a forklift for the first time in your life and then come up with this. With this design there is no room for an engine or batteries, the counter weight is way too small for this thing to be able to lift over 1000 pounds even extended, most people don't want a forklift to be longer than it has to be, I just don't see how that mast is possible. And the cabin moving, what people can't look up.
